I was trying to update Photoshop CS6 and after getting to 99% installed the script came back with
"Update Failed," Try again
later or contact customer support which included a link to nowhere and a number (U44M1|216).
I did try to "try again later," to no avail!

You may want to try rebuilding the iTunes library as an initial troubleshooting step. Take a look at the article below for more information.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
The section Install missing components has advice on breaking down the iTunes installer into the individual .msi files which might prove useful if Apple Application Support won't install normally.

I am having the same problem. I did download the two files and started the .exe file. The .exe file appears to run downloading files. When the bar is full the window dissapears without any options. Both files are in the same folder. any thoughts?

I am having the exact same problem. MacForums has been helping me, and I called Apple. After trying everyone's suggestions, and Apple's, no success.
My App Store app still says "incomplete or damaged." There is even a circle with a line through it on the icon. Apple said reinstall my Snow Leopard upgrade disc (not my original Leopard disc) and then run the Combo Update (like your suggestion). Did not work. I also updated the software from "Software Update". Rebooted.
I think this started after I replaced my hard drive with a SSD and moved the hard drive to where the DVD was. I wonder if the person above who had the same problem also installed a SSD?
Anyway, anymore ideas? Even Apple is stumped.
(In answer to the other post above, my Quicktime works fine.)

Just did some more reading. I was going by the icon in the dock. When I checked in Finder, there it was, fixed and brand new!! Thanks, anyway.

OK, as you noted, the problem began when you upgraded to LR6, but you did not upgrade PS. LR6 needs Photoshop to have Camera Raw 9.0 for full compatibility. But, there is a workaround. Normally, LR passes the raw file and the adjustment metadata to PS for rendering using PS's camera raw, but LR can render the file as well. Here are the steps to take:
1. Edit > Preferences > General. Under "Prompts," choose "Reset all warning dialogs."
2. Now choose "Edit in Photoshop." You should see something similar to this warning dialog; choose "Render using Lightroom."
In this way, all the adjustments you made in LR will be rendered and the already rendered file will be passed to Photoshop.
Note the checkbox "Don't show again." You may have checked this once before, which is why you may not see the warning dialog. The reset in step 1 brings this warning back in case you've dismissed it.

You're ignoring context. On the old Apple Discussion Groups I never posted replies like that, instead giving people relatively detailed answers. The new Apple Support Communities made things worse by introducing certain inefficiencies. Then came Lion. The flood of messages that came with Lion required a painful choice for any of the people who had been helping here: (1) Give quality responses to a few questions and ignore the rest. I think you solved my problem! Upon following your advice, I first got a message that I had not allowed a connection to the Tax dept computers, which would prevent the file I need to fill out from being e-filed. I proceeded to then open the file at the top of which was a security banner at which I chose the site as safe. I then filled in the first line of the form which autofilled other lines telling me I was connected with the tax site. In a few days when I have the data I need, I will actually attempt to file the return. If there is a problem, I will send another message. Thanks so much for your assistance!

Contact Apple and request a 10.4 or possibly a 10.5 distribution disk for this system, if you've not obtained that DVD disk from the seller.
Boot and use that distribution disk to wipe the hard disk via Disk Utility, and to then reinstall OS X.
Best to start with a fresh installation of OS X, as that'll provide the default environment and not something that's been customized and extended by the previous owner.
The last OS X version that was supported for most PowerMac G5 systems was 10.5.8, and that would be preferable — if your Mac supports that.
If you're not sure which Mac you have, then use the  > About This Mac from the menu and request more information on the system. You're looking for a model number listed there, and that'd be something like PowerMac7,3 or PowerMac11,2 for a ~2005-vintage PowerMac system. Whatever model number you have can then be used to determine the general specs for the configuration, and what the last version of OS X that was supported for the system.
