Due the unsuccessful updation your iPhone has stuck in recovery mode. you need to download the iOS 7.0.2 from the following link http://appldnld.apple.com/iOS7/091-9872.20130924.2wc82/iPhone4,1_7.0.2_11A501_Re store.ipsw and restore your device manually,please make sure you have all the backup stored since this will be a restore not an update so you data will be lost and you will have to restore your data from backup.You can do this by shift + mouse click the restore button in iTunes this will give you an opendialogue box to select the iPSW from which you want to update your iPhone after that have some patience and let the iTunes complete the installation and enjoy iOS 7.0.2.

My phone is frozen with a picture of a plug and the itunes symbol. It won't let me click on to anything else!

I am new to iphones. I am not technically minded at all. I plugged my phone into the computer (Dell, Windows 7) and the window that popped up asked if I wanted updates. I clicked install. Then another window said it was unable to install as I needed the latest update of itunes. I thought I had that on my phone! Now my phone screen is totally frozen and won't do anything when I click the button at the bottom of the screen. Help!

You cannot. If it is in recovery mode, the data is already gone.

If you didn't back it up, your data is gone. There is no "solution" after the fact.

Unplug it and let unit go dead. Then hold your Home button down and plug the USB power cord back in. iTunes should see it and then restore.

First try forcing it to shut down: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds.
If you don't get anywhere, restoring it is the next step:
Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Place the iPod in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

Did some updates yesterday so decided to shut the computer down last night. Turned it on this morning and now for almost an hour the screen is showing a grey background with a picture of the computer and it says "setting up your Mac". Like it is frozen.
