I was updating my iphone 4g and there was a problem occurred and now it has a picture of a usb and itunes icon
i was updating it and now i have to restore it due to a problem that i dont know.. and i cant restore it eithe it show on the screen of a usb and an itunes icon.
it want you to connect it to your computer and have itunes open on your computer

Yes I had the same problem with my iPhone 4. What I did was connected my phone to my computer. itunes popes up and said that they have discovered a iphone in recovery mode. it asked if i wanted to update and restore. I clicked yes and it download the ios6 update on iTunes on my computer and then did the update on my phone through that. I got the same message and I thought that I would lose everything too, but I did not.

I tried updating my Iphone4 from iOS 6.1.4 to 7 via iTunes. After downloading, I got an error 4005 message during installation and now my phone is completely wiped out; is not being recognized by my PC; and all I get on the phone is a photo of a USB plug and the iTunes symbol! Can anyone, PLEASE, help?!?
The phones in recovery mode so if yu connect it to itunes it should ask to restore it back to the last back up you have done.

While updating or downloang apps in my iphone, it appears, Can not connect to iTunes Store. My software is up to date and there is no problem in wifi.

See the IT Guy and ask about any "Other Security WiFi Blocks"
Other locations [Secure WiFi] -
Try a location with a Non Secure WiFi -> As these locataions "typically" do not have a IT Guy to go to for questions regarding [Other Security WiFi Blocks]
Non-Secure WiFi -
Then try the steps below [Even with the others listed above]
Just because you may be able to get to a Secure and Non Secure Website on safari on the iphone does not mean the WiFi connection is "Perfect or ok" and I am not saying it is not.
Also take into effect servers for iTunes updates/Apps etc could be overloaded at that time.
You can also try a simple Hard Reset [Hold down Sleep/Wake button and Home button at same time - Once see Apple Logo release both buttons - Allow iphone to reset]
If have already tried these and have not contacted AppleCare Support try that too.

I was updating my iPhone 4 to iOS 7 today and before I did, I backed my phone up into iCloud. Then while it was updating an error occured and now itunes is telling me the only way to power up my phone is to restore the whole device. Is it possible to power up my phone without restoring the whole device? Or without loosing everything?
Not if the error says to restore in iTunes. You should have made a backup before the update, so you should be able to restore to that backup. But with the device in recovery mode as it is, there is no way to backup anything at this time. If you did not make a backup before updating then you can only restore to your latest backup, whenever that was. If no backup at all, then you will have to restore the device as new, losing everything.

If your phone is in recovery mode, all data are gone. Connect the phone to iTunes on your computer and restore.

i was updating my iphone 5 to ios 7 but i cancelled it by forcing a shut down as there was not much battery left so now its in restore mode and i cant restore my phone now it says error 3194 and ive tried the sudo code but it still doent work help?

I am on my computer at the IStore and there was an offer to update my Iphone and I selected the download. The update was downloading and then there was an error message and now my Iphone 4 is recovery mode. I don't want to loose all my existing stuff on my phone. What shall I do?
You should never update without making sure that everything is on your computer.
If your iphone is recovery mode, then everything on it is already lost.
If you are using your iphone as designed, then everything is on your computer, just sync it back. -
Was updating my iPhone 4 to the latest ios and now stuck in recovery mode.
Was updating my iPhone 4 to the latest ios 5.1 (i believe) and a error message came up (didn't make a note of the error code sorry) but now phone is stuck in recovery mode with the USB wire and iTunes logo on. PC wont reconise iPhone when plug it in either. I had to delete an old back up before the update as i didn't have enough space on PC to do the update before but was told that during the update it backs up again anyway. I have looked in Device backup's and there is nothing there I have a feeling i'm going to have to restore it but hopefully there is another way as i wont be left with anything on the phone.
Any help please.
Many Thanks.Sorted it now, took it to Apple store and explained etc. was nothing could do but restore the phone. Was told to make sure itunes on PC was up-to-date version before updating iphone which could have caused the error.

It sounds like your screen is black but otherwise indicates that it is on. I recommend the troubleshooting steps from the article named:

Toggle the ringer switch to see if the unit vibrates. If it does, it could be that iPhone is getting power, but is not displaying any image.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
While connected to the iPhone charger, try to reset the iPhone.
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?

[solved] Sonata & crossfading problem
