I was updating my new IPad 2. got an error, i think it was 1844 and now it is an apple on the screen, but i can't do anything. Not turn it on or off. Nothing. Can someone help me?

For a fresh download on a new hard drive, it's best to start with the CC desktop app. Sign into adobe.com and download it here: creative.adobe.com/products/download/creative-cloud
You can then launch the desktop, sign in and download PS & LR.

You may have installed the "VSearch" trojan, perhaps under a different name. Remove it as follows.
Malware is constantly changing to get around the defenses against it. The instructions in this comment are valid as of now, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for more recent discussions or start a new one.
Back up all data before proceeding.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

Right-click or control-click the line and select
          Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item named "com.vsearch.agent.plist" selected. Drag the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password.
Repeat with each of these lines:

Restart the computer and empty the Trash. Then delete the following items in the same way:

This failure of oversight has compromised both Gatekeeper and the Developer ID program. You can't rely on Gatekeeper alone to protect you from harmful software.

The small square Bookmark button to the right of the toolbar works well and diaplays color favicons. It's the top Bookmarks button that gives me the error and shows no colored favicons. Did I possibly load a Firefox update for Windows? Is there a separate update only for MAC computers?

There is some information in there that should help you to resolve your issue. Luckily, it is a very easy fix. It should be fixed in FF 10, so it is strange that you are seeing it. Are you sure you are on the latest release?

The sceen is now blue. The dock, all applications and every icon on the screen is gone. What remains is the apple start button and the drop down menus of whatever application I choose as "recent items" from the start menu.

Select the compound clip and do Clip->Break Apart Clip Items (or Cmd-Shift-G).

It's a POP account. I decided to clean up my mailbox today after noticing the computer was real slow after USA Today started sending their daily top stories with new graphics. Also before I noticed the problem with mail deletion - two things happened. 1) I updated security sofware as prompted by Apple and 2) downloaded Mackeeper and went throught some preliminary scans but did not buy their package. Are you trying to Print to PDF or are you trying to Print a PDF file to a physical printer?
