I was using my Design Standard 3 one day, then got the message I did not have access to this program - contact Adobe; a rep said uninstall/reinstall.  The reinstall failed.  What can I do next?

Uninstall seemed to work, but adobe folders remained in program files.  Reinstall just gave the message that an "error occured" with all the design standard components.  I did not install any new software between one use and the next.  I had installed a new virus program the previous day.  (windows vista operating system)

Re: the advice of 1-12-15 about troubleshooting the error, the below directions came from that trouble shooting website.  In black (***) is what I found when I tried to follow those directions.

Navigate
     to the log files in one of the following folders:
     • Windows
     64-bit (XP, Vista, 7): \Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Installers\
I went to the internet site listed in the
above email  (directions here are taken
directly from that website). Taking the pathway described above, I come up with
the following:  Under “installers” there
are two folders: 0e772471f6aed60c960ed5260 and “InDesign5”  which is empty ;  The first folder contains two additional
folders, payloads and resources plus two .dll files and an application file (“set
up”).  Resources contains four folders,
an HTML file and an XML file.  Payloads
contains  Many folders, all “modified”
the last time I tried to install the software.
Without looking through all the folders, I have not found any .log.gz
files.
The log filename
includes the product name and install date (CS4) or just the product name
(CS3), followed by “.log.gz.” The extension .gz indicates a compressed format.
RippedOffByAdobe I would recommend reviewing the installation logs to determine the cause of the installation failure.  You can find details on how to locate and interpret the installation log files at Troubleshoot installation with install logs | CS3, CS4.

    If you do not have find my iPhone enabled under your iCloud account settings, then all you can do is look for it manually yourself.  There is no way to find it remotely without find my iPhone active on it before it went missing.

    You can still download the other movies in iTunes on your computer. Launch iTunes and go to Store>Check for Available Downloads. You can download them in iTunes and then sync them to the iPad later. When you are done watching the first movie, you can transfer it into iTunes on your computer, delete it from the iPad and you will have the room for another movie on the device.     Continuing from 'question' above: I am not as worried about the one Firefox update that failed, but instead that the failed update also seems to be blocking all new, later updates.
    Platform: Dell PC running WinXP - it is updated.
    Have had Firefox installed and working successfully (including updates) for over a year; under 'help' it says I've got Mozilla/5.0.
    Tried restarting Firefox.
    Tried restarting the PC.
    Tried 'Apply Downloaded Update Now.'
    Nothing has changed - the update won't load - I get an 'Update Failed' box every time I try, and also every time I re-load Firefox.
    When I went to Mozilla/Firefox website to just completely reload Firefox with a new download, it said that Firefox 4 was available; seems dumb to download ver. 4 when I already have ver. 5.
    Any suggestions for the least-work way to resolve this?

    If you have problems with updating then best is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version.
    Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

    * Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.

    Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

    Hey, I understand how ****** off you must be at getting bounced around . It most likely has something to do with some port being blocked by your internet service provider or on your router.  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3297 lists ports 80, 443, 3689, 5297, 5298, 5353, 8000-8999, and 42000-42999 as ports that need to be open for you to connect to the itunes store. I would recommed contacting your isp and making sure that they are not blocking anything (in a nice unaccusing way, you never know, it might not be their fault), or if they can help you determine if your router is the cause. Before you do that you could also make an appointent with the genius bar at your apple retail store to make sure you can connect to the itunes store on their network, although if you can connect to wifi through safari, it probably is not related to the wifi hardware of your device.
    As last ditch efforts, I would try updating your device http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4623 (I recommend backing-up your device http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766 and any itunes purchases http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 just to be sure). If that doesn't work, I would restore it and set it up as a new device through itunes on a computer, that will wipe out any problem software and install the operating system as new, you can then test it to see if the issue was related to any software you had on it.
