I was using iCloud's location service, and it showed that the computer I'm using is over 100 miles away from where it actually is. Can't figure it out. Switched location on and off on the Macbook Pro, but it hasn't made any difference. It's showing a location I've never been to.

You do not need to sign into their Wi-Fi.
Your mac will determine its position using Wi-Fi positioning system (WPS)
It will look for the strong access points and look up the position in a database. After moving, the database entry for a moved access point may still be wrong. I don't know, what you could do at your end, since you cannot change the skyhook database.

I know that native IOS does not support different setting for inactivity sleep depending on the ipad being plugged in. Does any one know if there is an app that will do this? I would like to keep it from going to sleep when it is plugged in but to go to sleep on inactivity when it is not.

No. You would need to manually reset the autolock when you plug it in to do that.

Apple (and no one else) can not assist (with serial number or iCloud) in finding a lost or stolen iPad.

Hi cb-anc! Thank you for replying to my question. The Library application has disappeared,not the library folder. I went into the application a couple of days ago to trash some plist files and now the application has disappeared. I haven't upgraded to Lion but am still on now Leopard.

You can only redownload apps whilst they remain in your country's store - is it still listed fot sale ? If the app is still in your country's store then you should be able to redownload it via the Purchased tab in the App Store app on your iPad, if it's not shown there (but is still in the store) then check to see if it's hidden from the Purchased tab : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919
If it's no longer in your store then do you have a copy of it on your computer's iTunes and/or on your backup of your downloads that you can use to resync it to your iPad ?

The official way to do it is to restore the iTunes library that was on your old computer to your new computer using the backup of your whole system you regularly update. Then you are syncing the phone with the same old library.

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was designed for you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchased content.

The computer that I original used with my ipod touch is dead, so I am now synching and backing up to a new computer. I had to restore the software to this ipod. I can drop and drag my tunes back into the ipod, but not my apps.

I was given the message that that disk cannot be used because it does not have the GUID partition. In order to have a GUID partition, it suggested I go to disk utility and make the change. I couldn't see the partition tabs in the disk utility application. So how do I accomplish the GUID partition?

The problem is, reformatting the partition may require you erase the hard drive. Normally Intel Macs are preformatted GUID. The fact that yours is not, says someone who initially installed the system on your Mac did you a disservice. Regardless, you should backup your data before you upgrade. GUID formatted drives generally are not compatible with iBooks (pre-2006 consumer notebooks by Apple) Powerbooks, and PowerMacs, and iMac G5s. So if you indeed have machine with the MacBook name on the screen frame, it was not properly formatted from the beginning.
