I was wondering if anyone had tips on television commercials.
I am doing my first TV commercial and it is in HDV 720 30fps and I wanted to see if anyone had tips on either color correction or television guidelines with HDV? Thanks
If by 30 fps, you mean 29.97fps... that's correct.
But I would check w/ the TV stations as to what dimensions and deliverables they require, and what format they require (usually h.264 .mov or mpg2)
You usually need to place isci code at the begining of the spot in your slate (either the client will provide or you will make it up)
Make sure you audio levels are not hot (in FCP that would be around -12)...
If you monitor color with an external tv monitor, then color should be fine, or use the colorscopes in FCP to make sure you colors aren't too bright, and don't use pure white...
Ahh, and keep all of your text/logos, important visual details in the 4:3 area, so when it is aired SD, they aren't cropped out.

I was wondering if anyone had an easy way to edit the photos on a .swf file?
I am trying to change out the photos on the flash photos on my homepage. I only have the .swf files. Is there an easy way to do this? My web developer wants to charge a ridiculous amount to do this and I would actually rather learn how to do this versus paying someone else. Any help would be appreciated.

You would have to follow the directions(documentation) as I have not used this program before. Or find another that seems easier to you, but thats what you need.

If you set up your wi-fi router to establish a network, then both your printer and MacBook Pro will connect wirelessly. *** I do not know what kind of router you possess, I don't want to suggest things that might not be relevant.

I recently got my iPhone 5 unlocked and the other day I updated my phone to ios 7. After doing so my phone shut off and turned on and it said I had no service. I guess it completely wiped out my unlock. I was wondering if anyone knows what I can do to fix it!!
How, EXACTLY, did you get it "unlocked"? ONLY the carrier it's locked to can authorize unlocking it. Anything else is a hack.

I have this happening to me too... it is frustrating enough for me to pitch my computer out the 4th floor office window. I found somewhere on these forums a solution which worked for me, but only for a short time. I'm back to having this stupid glitch. Anyway, the "temporary" solution seems to be to boot into Safe Mode by holding the Shift button down when you hear the startup chime, then let go when you see the Apple logo on the screen. You'll see you've done it right because it'll say Safe Mode somewhere on screen (upper right hand corner?). Restart again normally and your Mail should be free from these weird demons, but they'll be back. -

aliceiMovie is part of the iLife suite of programs.
If you have 10.7 or 10.8 when the machine was purchased, just log into AppStore and accept the iLife for that machine and reinstall it all, it will replace iMove.
If you have 10.6 originally came on the machine, look on your second set of disks, there is a bundled installer that should put it back on, then Software Update fully to bring it current.
If you originally had 10.5 on the machine, stick the disk in and try to run the bundled installer, or use Pacifist from CharlesSoft to extract the program and then Software Update fully.

I have 8.1 and iTunes and its working. My cloud doesn't so I had to remove the 'sync contacts and calendar to the cloud' and to back to the old say, but I just synced my iPad and iPos (both running 7.0.3) last night and it worked.
There are features with 8.1 that may be messing things up. For example there's a setting when you upgrade to 8.1 where you can turn off the automatic install of drivers. With devices, every time the iOS and iTunes updates there is a new driver to make your device visible on a computer. If you turn off that auto install then you may have blocked your computer from getting that driver.
In addition, with iOS7 there came the 'do you trust this computer' which is a choice you have to make on your device. If you tell your device no, then it may have issues connecting to your computer. -
after upgrading to mountain lion, i find that my mail app does not have a "VIP" Tab. Was wondering if anyone else has this issue and what it is about?
First, select sender(s) as VIPs. Then the VIP category will appear.
To select a sender as a VIP, open an email from that sender, then hover over their name and a star icon will appear to the left. Click the star, and that sender will be set as a VIP (and the category will appear in the pane on the left). -

I dropped my iPhone 4s and the back cracked and it now will not turn on. I was wondering if anyone could give me an estimated price to fix it. And I do have insurance on it with best buy. I'm on Verizon's phone plan so I don't know if it would be cheaper to have it fixed with Best Buy or Verizon. I cracked my iPod a little bit ago and got a refurbished one for free with the insurance on it but I don't now if it would be different because it is a phone. since the nearest apple store is a couple hours drive, i was wondering if i had to personally drop off my iphone for the express replacement service or if a friend could do it for me in my place if they were in the area?
thank youExpress replacement is generally handled through the mail. They ship you a phone and a box and you send the old one back. However, you can also take the old phone to the Apple store and they can replace it in the store. That would be much easier and less expensive than the express service unless it is that much trouble for you to drive to the Apple store.
