Had a client who has internet explorer and couldn't see myimages on my picture pages, anybody know why.

Thanks for responding; I have updated to version 11.0.0 from Acrobat Pro 8.3.1. The function/menu options across the board have been reduced to basics and I can't find any of the menus available in the old version including the Form Edit/duplicate options. Not sure if Adobe have stripped it assuming it can all be done from Indesign; but clearly as the "go to page" function isn't supported from InDesign, I need to add this to the buttons through Acrobat. frustrating!

Cant see the page links text in my main & side navigation bars

I published my site to Mme yesterday and I have noticed a few problems have come up. The main problem is my main and side navigation bars. In the top nav bar you cant see all the page links text, they should show up in white. I can only see them when you roll over the page name (this is in grey) and that is the rollover colour. Not sure what to do to get the text colour to stay white all the time so it is always seen once it's been clicked. It just disappears, but is still there if you roll over it
My side nav bar, the text should also all be white and when you roll over it turns red. For some reason when you click on the page link it turns grey and stays grey. I also want the page links to stay white once clicked on

Cant see others in video conference

When i join a video conference with more than once person i cant see anybody else but myself.
When i start a video conference and add people one by one...the first person can see everybody...but the 2nd and 3rd cant see anybody else.
whats going on????

What is your System Preferences > Quicktime > Streaming tab set to ?
It should be set to match your download speed or a max of 1.5meg
What is your download and upload speeds ?

I cant open google with fire fox? it says problem loading page also cant load other pages opnly pages that I have benn to before as favotits or book marks?

I loaded a virus soft ware in my computer now i cant use the browser just links and pages that are booked marked will open Google will not open era message Trouble loading page!

I would backup, restore to factory settings, restore from the backup and then try again. If that fails, restore again but do not use the backup - restore as new. If the iPad functions OK as new, then slowly rebuild the iPad adding your apps, music etc, methodically to see if you can pin down what might be causing the problem.
if all of that fails, it's time to schedule an appointment at an Apple a Store (must be done online) and have them take a look, or of it is lees than two weeks old, just return it for a refund and buy another one.

Migration Assistant cant see other computer

I am trying to migrate some data from my Imac to my MacBook, but cant make the two machines connect.
They are failing to connect by WifI
My Macbook - when I click the "From a Mac, Time Machine backup etc" button can find my Imac.
My Imac - when I click the "To another Mac" button can't see my MacBook.
To check if there is a hardware fault, I have tried swapping things over - so that the MacBook is labelled as the machine where the data will be transfered from and the Imac is the destination. In this case the Imac can see the MacBook, but the MacBook can't see the Imac.
Confused!
I have done a google search, and tried some of the tips like switching off firewalls. Hasn't worked.
Both machines have Maverick. Both machines are on the same network. The Macbook is sat right night to the Imac.
Suggestions?

I see this issue frequently. There does't appear to be a solution and I don't know if Apple is addressing it.
I would just forget about Wifi and use a hardwire solution.(ethernet , firewire/thunderbolt).

HT5548 Launchpad not letting me see other pages

Help-
Just upgraded from a Macbook to new Macbook Pro. On my new machine, Launchpad won't let me get to the other launchpad pages. For example, every time I swipe to the second page of apps, it "slides" me back to the first page. My old machine did not do that.
Any help is appreciated.

You could possibly try going to launchpad and pressing Command-Left or Command-Right to move through the pages. Then take a trip to System Prefs and have a look under "Trackpad" settings and see if they are all correct. There is a preview of what the action should be with the gestures. Try copying that exactly and make sure your other fingers dont touch the trackpad.
If that doesn't work then please reply and I'll do some research

Cant see other PCs on my network

Being the owner of a Macbook since last Saturday, and being assured, several times that I would have no problems adding it to my existing network, I am shocked to find the amount of postings on the internet with similar problems, without any concrete resolve. I contacted the support at Apple and was told that the problem "is most probably with my Vista PC's or router". Now, after trying every possible setting there is on both the Vista PC's and my Macbook, the problem is still not resolved. Perhaps, there is someone at Apple or out there on the WWW, who can take on this problem:
Existing network:
An Acer PC connected via ethernet to a Paradyne 6218 4 port router/wireless modem. The PC is running Vista Home Basic. I have a Canon 4300i printer connected to it via USB.
A Toshiba Equium laptop connected via wireless to above router. It's running Vista Home Premium. I can use the printer via the network. Both machines were are fine, can read & write to each other, use media files and internet access with out problems.
Then I introduced my Macbook to the network.
I have so far: disabled all firewalls, changed account names to match, shared everything possible, checked IP addresses and IP subnets, switched the machines on and off in different sequences, reset the router and a dozen other things, all to no avail.
My PC's can see, (sometimes), my Macbook, and on one occasion was able to access files, (that stopped when I switched off the Macbook overnight), but my Macbook cannot see either the laptop or the PC or the printer. I do have full internet access without problems.
Just an extra, I also have a Archos 5 that I use on the network. That cannot see the Macbook or vice-versa.
So, is there anybody out there who can resolve this problem, or do I have to face the fact I've paid a grand for a nice table decoration?

Update: A very helpful Apple tech guy was able to guide me in the right direction. This was the link he sent me:

Seeing iweb pages using Explorer 7

I work for a university in which the majority of students, faculty and staff use PC's not to mention Internet Explorer 7. I've developed a website using iweb, and unfortunately all of the images, buttons, links are showing up with a small "x" in the upper left hand corner and everything has a think gray box around it like a border. This only happens when using Explorer 7. Is there a way to fix this?

I just went through two days and three calls to different tech crews on a site I had purchased hosting space on. I had originally built my site on a Unix server site using iWeb. Everything worked fine and it could be viewed easily by most browsers, all Mac formats and Explorer browsers on Windows machines. I switched to the web hosting, domain name site which uses Linex servers and uploaded my iWeb site publishing folders. Explorer browsers on Windows machines could no longer open my site to any reasonable extent (no graphics, minimal text,no functioning links). All Mac formats, Fire Fox, Mozilla all still worked fine( the Exlplorer browser on my Mac accessed it fine but I was told that my Macs operating system was aiding it). I don't know how to write or correct code as was suggested by some of the techs, in fact that is why I purchased this software. I am pleased with the way it enabled me to build a site but if I can't be accessed by Explorer browsers it is very limiting.

Sometimes the Firefox window gets off screen and continues to open there. One technique you can try is the following:
While the Firefox window is active (you can judge by the Windows task bar, press Alt+Spacebar to display the system menu for the Firefox window.
You may or may not be able to see the menu, but if you do, its position in an upper or lower corner provides a clue as to where the Firefox window is lurking. If it's on the right side, tap the m key and use the left arrow to move the window to the left. If it's on the left side, tap the m key and use the right arrow to move the window to the right. Similarly, if the system menu appears toward the top of the screen, use the down arrow to move the window down, and vice versa. It may take many presses. Does that work?

The problem is when you maximize the window -- it is even bigger than the area available? Or the problem is that normal windows are always too large and have to be resized manually?

The web pages are not centered, they are way over to the right and so not only can I not see the page, I can't see the scroll bar or web address.

It is like the page shrinks up and moves way over to the right hand corner and I can't pull it back. I tried mini and maxi -ing the screen ... nothing works!!!
I cant' move the page down to see what the directions are for this box so I am typing this and hoping for the best. Sometimes the arrows will scroll down and other times not.

Use OpenDNS for better speed, more security, includes anti phishing filters, prevents browser redirects, it's free and Apple suggests it here > Safari 5.0.1 or later: Slow or partial webpage loading, or webpage cannot be found
Open System Preferences / Preferences then select the Network tab. Click the Advanced tab then click the DNS tab.
Click +
Enter these addresses exactly as you see them here.

Then click OK.
Quit then relaunch Safari to test.

Why have Link previews been moved to the bottom of the page? I have a toolbar on my my site and my users cant see it because the link preview is obscuring it...

Well as I can see from other questions asked people are already aware that when you hover over a link the link preview appears at the bottom of the page instead of the status bar.

Well thats fine for me to do that but what about the users who come to my site and cant see my toolbar at the bottom because the link preview (with a long URL) is obscuring it? I cant tell them to go and install an addon, what bright spark thought of this I find it very disrupting.

Cant see uploaded info on web

updating of my site in cs6 failing. dreamweaver indicates that i have updated but when i check the browse still the same old info. i have configured the servers with passwords but i just cant see updated info

Like I mentioned above, posting a screenshot of your expanded Files window showing both the remote and local root folders side by side would help us rule that possibility out.
Generally speaking, if you were to have accidentally added a level of redundancy to your site, you would see a folder named something like htdocs, public_html or www within your local files. Those are the most common server root directories and if you have one in your local files, your site would be uploading in that folder into the same name folder on your server. So instead of...
public_html
     index.html
     pages
     images
     page1.html
     page2.html
You would have something like...
public_html (actual server root)
     index.html (old) <-- these would be the file people see when they come to your site
     pages (old)
     images (old)
     page1.html (old)
     page2.html (old)
    public_html (accidental duplication)
          index.html (new) <-- these would be the file getting updates
          pages (new)
          images (new)
          page1.html (new)
          page2.html (new)
Your server root should not exist in your local files because you should be transferring only the content of your local root (which could have any name) to the server root set in your FTP credentials.

HELP! Safari says cant open the page, too many redirects occurred trying to open (web address) when trying to access research paper sites - doesnt happen elsewhere

Hi there,
Ive been trying to open research articles through google scholar, when i click to open the page it doesnt load and comes up with Safari cant open the page, too many redirect occured trying to open (then the web address). This might occur if you open a page that is redirected to open another page which is then redirected to open the original page.
This also happens when i access the databases through my universitys library web page - and it still wont let me load even the actual webpage let along particular article.
This is happening on my ipad as well - but this is not happening on my iphone or on my other lap top which is not an APPLE.
i know its not my internet as i used the same internet on the other comp and i also used it as wifi and without out wifi on my iphone.
PLEASE HELP! i need to study!!

Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
Develop menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.
Click Develop and select "Empty Caches" from the dropdown.
Remove website data.
Safari > Preferences > Privacy > "Remove All Website Data".
