Once an item enters the download queue, the user cannot remove it. Either let it complete the download (easiest) or contact the iTunes Store customer support department through the Contact page and ask them if they'll remove the item(s) from your queue for you.

I didn't say and was never asked If I wanted Mountain Lion. I can no longer 'Empty Cache' at the end of a session online and when I do a search now (and this has all changed overnight) the query is typed into what used to be the address bar and when the search results appear, after reading the first result and I want to read the second or fifth or Any of the other results of the query I am forced to resubmit the search in the address bar because the 'Page Back' button has been removed and the Little Red Dot closes the Search Results Page altogether.
What else am I in for with Mountain Lion? I already know that I do NOT want anything to do with iCloud. Get a bootable, external HD (preferably FireWire, since it's 40-50% faster than USB 2 and designed for data transfers), make a bootable backup/clone before updating/upgrading, using something like Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper!, and ensure that it's bootable and works like the original. Firefox will let me surf the web but certain sites such as facebook and eBay take too long to respond and i can not login, how can i fix this?

Using Lion. Stamped a project with metadata and all the first pictures in a stack are now square when they were not before. Any ideas how to get them back to their original shape?

I created the metadata for a project and lifted the metadata, hit Command A to select over 1000 photos and stamed the entire project. It rated all the pics with 3 stars and made them all square. Clearly not my intent. Can't seem to undo. Any ideas?

Just a historical note of interest, Yahoo Mail was one of the first IMAP Push providers on the original iphone, so they did at one time support IMAP. My guess is you will have to get the server settings from tech support, which you are paying for.
But the gmail app is called gmail :-) and the technology that allows you to link it to a domain is known as google apps. (www.google.com/apps).
But I would call Yahoo tech support and ask them what the proper way to set it up on an ipad or iphone is.
If you built your website using Yahoo tools (ie. their website builder), you may find it difficult to move.

What is the best way to properly activate the Lightroom Student Edition? Is the Student Edition a permanent program or does it deactivate after 2-4 years like some other programs that are student versions?

I just purchased the student edition of Lightroom! I am very excited to use it and start creating beautifully edited photos but I'm a little unsure about a few things. It says I have to prove my eligibility to use the student edition which won't be an issue but what is the quickest and easiest way to submit this proof? Also I am concerned that the student edition will be temporary and I will have bought this program only to have it expire at the end of 4 years like some other programs that are student versions. Is the student edition of Lightroom a permanent program that I will have for life or will it deactivate after I graduate?

When I purchased my academic version of Lightroom, it was a package set. Inside was a yellow card with the instructions on how to verify that I qualified for the academic discount. I submitted my academic e-mail address and other info as requested on that yellow card. Within 5 min. I received my serial number. Very straightforward. I had no problems whatsoever.

OS X server 2.0.23 - What administration tools can be downloaded that are compatible?

I have OS X server version 2.0.23. I can't seem to find administration tools to download that are compatable whereas Lion Server has administration tools. Where can I find the administration tools for OS X server 2.0.23? None of the 10.X versions will work with it.

As mentioned in other similar topics, most of the Server administration tools have been migrated to the Server.app, and only Workgroup Manager 10.8 has been upgrated for the Mountain Lion release.
The Server Services control through command line is the same, and as powerfull as before.

After deleting the backups, go back to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup and make sure iCloud Backup is set to On (if not, turn it on).

iWork is universal, so it will work full-res on the iPad. This is true for any app which has the plus sign symbol (in the App Store in iTunes it will say "This app is designed for iPhone and iPad".

I am having problems downloading apps while using wifi in a public setting. The apps will show up on my screen and say "waiting". They will not install. I can't even delete them from my screen. This has happened before and I had to reset my iPad to factory settings. I hope I don't have to do this again. Any advice?

Well, typically one of the fixes that I would suggest is to try to delete the waiting icons. WIFi in a public places like McDonalds, Starbucks, B&N, etc. is not the greatest and I would avoid those places for downloading and updating apps. But I do realize that not everybody has access to Wifi in their homes.
These are all things that have worked at one time or another for other users. Hopefull one of them will work for you. Just ignore whatever does not apply or anything that you have already tried.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.
If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.

Why does it take so long to download software like Adobe to a Mac laptop

I just recently bought a MacBook Pro and I am installing Adobe Reader and it is taking sooooo long to install. I have been installing since 8:30 pm and its now 10:27 and its only up to 42%. Why does it taking so long? Also I have downloading other software and it took forever as well. Why does it take son long to download software to the Mac?

Something is obviously wrong.
Stop the download and take the machine back to Apple as you have 90 days free support.
They will test the machine to see if it's a hardware issue or a problem with the Mac itself.
If they say it's fine and it surfs/downloads fast on their connections, then it's likely something wrong with your home network or router.
Did you by any chance change your DNS settings in Network?
This could be the problem, delete what you entered and reboot the machine, the ISP's default DNS settings will return.
To OpenDNS? On the router? Are you using your own router of it someone managing it for you?
Are you over 21 and can you legally surf for adult sites? If some sort of filtering is on, this could be the cause.
OpenDNS doesn't have servers everywhere, so it causes certain downloads from Akamai servers to come from a lot farther away than your ISP servers.
Have you run Internet speed tests? Using other machines on your network are they fast?
Is your router or modem old? Did you power them off, wait 30 seconds and power them back on?
It's rather a lot to try to figure out network issues, you may have to call in a local professional.
