Hi,
I'm crossing my fingers that I will gain some relief from a teeth gnashing day of one PC problem after the other, which, I suspect that at least a couple might have been caused my me, to wit:
(1) Despite reading at length on the subject of finding lost Bookmarks, I still cannot locate what is missing, which are imperative that they be somehow retrieved; and
(2) I have checked Firefox cookie settings several times to be certain they are enabled, yet I am still receiving a warning that my browser cookies are not enabled; and
(3) In Gmail, My Google Home Page has suddenly become replaced by Outlook-Live. OMG, I can't imagine what I've done that caused this; and
(4) All things considered, I am fairly adept on the PC, have been at it since WordPerfect v4.2! But the current sophistication of the setups in Windows software confounds me. There are so many places where on has to make decisions and/or determination on a myriad of checklists for which I have little or absolutely no knowledge; and
(5) Coming down to the end of the road - On top of the foregoing dilemmas, I'm having Adobe Flash Player problems. I have deleted all earlier downloads of of Adobe Flash Player and then downloaded and installed the most recent version, nine times! All goes well for a a few minutes, and then the same problems arise. Repeated Adobe Flash Crash pop-up's with choices to "continue" to "try again."
During the "try again" every function was almost paralytic, the curser frozen. Most functions were nil. Clicking the "continue" allowed a minute or two of mobility.
I will confess to having read online extensively on all manner of the above subjects, but though I tried that which I could understand, nothing was successful support from Adobe was also without merit.

Sometimes I get an “Unable to Connect” error and sometimes I get “1 document in printer queue”. No matter what printer I choose after I try to go to Adobe, I cannot connect to a printer. The only solution I have come up with is a clean reboot which I can't afford to do 4-5 times a day.

The first step I would try is delete the Adobe pdf printer and then repair Acrobat.
Repairing Acrobat will bring back the pdf printer. We released an update yesterday i.e. 11.0.10. try updating to the latest version and check.
Have you tried uninstalling the software and reinstalling it.
You might also want to check the performance in a new admin user account.

How can I stop my iPhone from becoming a brick because it loses service.

I have an iPhone 5, currently with iOS 8 GM, and the problem with my iPhone is after maybe 5 minutes of being locked, if you turn it on, it loses service, or drops down to 1 bar (circle) says "Searching..." Then after 30 seconds, I will get service again. It does this 9 out of 10 times I want to use my phone. But that part isn't the issue, the issue I'm having is, with iOS 8, if it loses service for a while, I get a "Activation Required" and I can't use my phone at all until I reactivate it. Not a problem if I'm around Wifi, it takes 4 seconds to activate it. BUT, I'm not always around wifi and I can't use Cellular Data to activate it. I get a "Could not reach activation servers" or something. So my question is, what can I do about this? Besides getting a new phone, I already preordered the iPhone 6, and that could take 2-6 weeks to replace this phone. Is there some setting that is blocking it from activating on Cellulor Data? Can I permittatly keep it activated? Anything that will stop the phone from becoming a brick 2-4 times a day.

I agree that it is a hardware issue and I would have replaced, but losing service was something I just delt with over the years, but now with iOS 8, its becoming a problem. Plus with the release of the iPhone 6...
I just thought I missed a software setting that would block activating on Cellular Data or something similar to that.

I updated my iPhone 5S to iOS 7.0.2 and iBooks will not load anything from the Store- I cannot search or even view my purchases.
Also Safari keeps crashing. I have shut down the phone and restarted it twice and that hasn't helped. Any ideas?

Have you tried:
Turn FaceTime or iMessage off and then back on in Settings.
Launch Settings by tapping the icon on the Home screen
Scroll down to Messages or FaceTime
Toggle the switch from on (green) to off (white)
Wait a minute
Toggle the switch back to on (green)
Wait for it to re-activate
Hard reboot your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad
Make sure you're on Wi-Fi
Hold down both the Home button on the front, and the Sleep/Wake button on the top of your device
Wait for the Apple logo to appear
If it still doesn't work, repeat step 1 (turning FaceTime or iMessage off and on)
Reset network settings
Launch Settings by tapping on the icon on the Home screen
Tap on General
Scroll all the way to the bottom and tap on Reset
Tap on Reset Network Settings
If it still doesn't work, repeat step 1, then step 2, above (Turning FaceTime or iMessage off and one, rebooting).

The iPod 3g will only support iOS up to 4.2.1 and nothing beyond that.

Another thing to remember is the phone is actually usable for 911 calls and maybe others. Not a real good idea. Especially for a child.
It would depend however on the age of the child.

HT201263 now when I try to restore from recovery I get a code 3014 and it will not restore?

The screen only shows a usb cord to an itunes logo and it results in a code 3014 when i connect and try to restore from recovery mode.

Make sure that the backup file with the bookmarks has the correct file extension: .html for a HTML backup and .json for a JSON backup. 
You can check that via the right-click context menu of that file and open the Properties. 
If you are not sure about the file type then you can open the file in Firefox via "File > Open File" 
A JSON backup will show as one long text line without line breaks and a HTML backup as a web page with clickable links. 
A JSON backup starts with: {"title":"","id":1,"dateAdded": 
An HTML backup starts with: <nowiki><!DOCTYPE NETSCAPE-Bookmark-file-1></nowiki>
You may need to add quotes ("") around the name to rename the file to the correct file extension.

Well, it's certainly behaving as though the phone that was backed up was synced to a different iTunes library.
I'm going to throw one more thing out there... Yes, you backed it up to this computer... Was the phone previously set up to sync with this computer? Or was it syncing with a different computer and you just backed it up to this one?
You may have to end up setting it up as a new device and rebuilding the phone by manually re-syncing your data, apps, music, etc. to the phone.
Trying to keep your library on a different drive can be tricky. If iTunes starts up and the library isn't available, it may end up generating a new library ID, meaning that you could easily find yourself in exactly the position you're in now...
I'm curious why there was a need to restore your phone to begin with... It may not have any bearing on this at all, but it could.

Phshp CS4 keeps crashing when I try to import from scanner

I'm running Photoshop CS4 on a Mac Pro Desktop with Snow Leopard. I have a Canon Canoscan Lide 600F scanner. Every time I try to import from my scanner into photoshop, CS4 keeps crashing.
Do I need to delete Photoshop CS4 Preferences? If so where is the file located in Preferences, I can't find it anywhere.

has scanning ever worked?
most of us here scan using the stand alone software or 3rd party software. The reason the TWAIN.plugin was not installed by default is that many of the scanner manufacturers have not followed Adobes specs and conflict with the TWAIN.plugin.
Also its seems a bit silly to tie up a $1000 application as a scanner UI for $150 scanner. You do realize Photoshop has no scanning ability of its own and relies on the scanner plugin to access the stand alone software that came with the scanner.
If you scan as a stand alone you can still work in Photoshop.

I have issues opening lightroom 4, have had it for a year now and recently every time I open it, I cant, it says problems retrieving from previous cache, will try to correct on next opening, then it is still the same each time..

Delete the preview cache. It's a folder whose name ends with Previews.LRDATA, it is in the same folder as your Lightroom catalog. Do not delete anything other than the folder whose name ends with Previews.LRDATA.
If this has been a recurring problem, you may be experiencing hard disk problems, and it would be worthwhile to run some diagnostics on your hard disk.
