I wiped my computer and now my iphone will not sync

Last week I wiped my windows in order to speed it up. I then reinstalled windows and all the programs I originally had
As well as reinstalling iTunes, I restored my iPhone to it's factory settings. Now when I try to sync it, it will now work.
Whilst syncing it says step 1 out of 3 instead of 1 out of 6 that is usually does.

Hopefully you didn't erase content and settings on the phone, because then you would have no content on either phone or computer.  Not advisable to do both this to both computer and phone at the same time!  I suspect the reason that only 3 things are syncing instead of 6, is that you know longer have any settings backed up to be synced.

  • I just got a new computer, and now my ipod will not sync to my new one, even though i "deauthorized" my old one? help please?

As the title says really. I deauthorized my old computer and therefore i thought that would mean i could sync my ipod, when i authorized my new one but it won't sync to my library on this laptop. why?

Before you start, remember that connecting to a new iTunes library will erase your device during the first sync.

  • HT1414 my daughter has iphone 3gs and it required an update , so i connected the iphone to itunes for update and the iphone locked up, I had to reset back to factory settings and now the iphone will not activate , what can i do

My daughter has an iphone 3gs and it required an update. So i connected the iphone to itunes for the update and the iphone locked up . I had to reset the iphone back to factory settings and now the iphone will not activate , Please advise what i can do to get this working for her ?

Generally this is a sign that the iPhone had previously been
hacked/modified/jailbroken and the update relocked it to the
original wireless carrier. If this is the case, only that wireless
carrier can unlock your iPhone. You must contact them to see
if they offer unlocking and if you qualify.
Where did you acquire this iPhone?
What wireless carrier did you use before this problem?
Does the app Cydia appear on your iPhone?

I recently changed my wifi password at home and now my iphone will not connect.  It will not ask me for a password just says will not connect to network.  Advice on how to get iphone to ask network password for wifi?

First, try tapping on the network in the Wi-Fi settings and then tap "forget this network". Then reselect the network in the main Wi-Fi settings screen and see if will then ask for a password. If not, try resetting the Network Settings in the General -> Reset section and then reconnecting to your W-iFi.
    Hope this helps.

  • TS3899 I changed my email account pw, and now my iphone will not let me to send email stating that name or pw is incorrect - no problem receiving.

I changed my email account pw, and now my iphone will not let me to send email stating that name or pw is incorrect - no problem receiving.

You most likely did not change the password in the outgoing mail server section of your email account.
Go to Settings > Mail, Contact, Calendars > your email account > Advanced > Outgoing Mail Server
Re enter the correct user name and password in the outgoing Mail server section even though it may say that these are optional.

    Hi JG14usa,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you attempted an update on your daughter’s iPhone but the update will not complete. For this type of situation, it may be necessary to place your iPhone into recovery mode and restore. Please use the instructions located in the attached article to complete this process.

  • I lost all the songs on my itunes and now my phone will not sync with out loosing all my music

my computer hard drive crashed and i had to re download itunes and now my phone will not sync without erasing all my music

That is correct.  The iphone will sync with one and only one computer/library at a time.  If you sync to another then it will indeed erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer/library.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.  Use this to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from the iphone.  Without syncing:  File>Transfer Purchases
You will also need to enter one unique contact and calendar entry in the computer .  When you first sync, you should get the option to merge.  Otherwise this data will be erased as well.
Much easier to use your backup copy to put everything back.

  • I've updated to iOS 5 and now my itouch will not sync.

    Hi There:
My hard drive crashed and has recently been replaced.  I've downloaded some new songs from iTunes but now my itouch will not sync.  It states something about, "sync failed to start" but doesn't state why it failed.  I would really appreciate any ideas of what to check for.  I'm not really good at this.

  • HT4972 I did this and now my Iphone will not charge?

I updated my Iphone and now it will not charge. I plug it into the wall and it doesn't. I plug it into the computer and it doesn't even recognize my device. Please help!

Me too.  And I just noticed a newer post saying the same thing.  Actually, my phone will show up as charging from the USB port -- but it will not sync.  At all.  Not just the itunes -- not calendar... nothing.  The wireless sync for email seems to work, but the hard sync and iTunes don't show up at all.
Just wanted to second your question, so that perhaps we can get a reply more quickly.

  • I have moved my itunes to a  new computer and now my ipod will lnot sync with new line up

i have moved mu itunes to a new computer and my ipod will not sync with new music.

If you are using automatic syncing, you may need to set up the iPod's Music tab in iTunes.
Select the iPod in iTunes.  There is a row of "tabs" (starting with Summary).  Select Music there.  This is the Music tab, where you tell iTunes how to sync the iPod with songs.  Sync Music is checkmarked for automatic syncing.
If your entire iTunes music library can fit on the nano, you can choose to sync Entire music library.  Otherwise, you can choose to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres.  Then, create your selection of songs below.  For example, if you want to keep it simple, create a new playlist in iTunes.  Put ALL songs you want on the iPod on that playlist, including songs from the newly added music.  Back on the Music tab, find and checkmark that new playlist under Playlists.
When you click Apply, your selection of songs on the Music tab syncs to the iPod, replacing its current content.  Going forward, any changes that are related to the Music tab settings sync automatically when you connect the iPod, or when you click Sync.  So, if there is a playlist with your "iPod songs," you can just update that playlist (add and remove songs) whenever you want; iTunes updates the iPod with the same changes at the next opportunity.

  • I upgraded calendar on mobleme and now mac ical will not sync

I followed the instructions on my mobileme account to upgrade the calendar and got everything to come in correctly.  However, when I now enter new events on my ical on my mac running 10.5.8 they will not sync to my mobileme calendar.  Can anyone give me assistance?  Thank you.

    dchaps,
You may want to check the syncing interval in both your MobileMe sync preference and the "Push" selection in iCal. See this article for more details: MobileMe: Sync intervals in Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows.
To make sure that you have MobileMe set up properly, read this article: MobileMe: Using Mac OS X Leopard v10.5.x with the new MobileMe Calendar.

  • HT1296 I updated my OS X to 10.6.3 now my iphone will not sync with my computer.  What do I do?

My iphone 4S will not connect with my Macbook Pro since I updated to OS X 10.6.3.  It says it is waiting for the computer to be available.

Did you update iTunes before this problem started? Maybe a security software conflict was created when you updated iTunes. If not, you may need to update iTunes for it to recognize the iPhone, since it was updated.
An easy thing you can try is restarting the iPhone. You can also try testing with another USB adapter cable.

  • I updated itunes and now my songs will not sync from the computer to ipod

I just updated my itunes software and my song will not transfer to the ipod. I tryed a new port but tha seems unlikly because itunes does reconize the ipod it just will not update the songs. I restarted the ipod that did not work so i updated the installed software and refreshed the ipod noe I have no songs because it wiped out the ones that were there from the old sync. I have tryed doing a manual update as apposed to the automatic update but that did not work either. I have tryed turning off my anti virus software but that did not work??? any ideas?

Ive had the same problem and I restored my i-pod then when i hooked up the i-pod it said it was full and asked If I wanted it to select a few songs to put on, i clicked yes thinking It meant it would just put my selected songs on but then it put 675 songs out of the library on when i only have 67 checked. they play wether tehyre checked in the Library or not, is there any way to fix this?

  • I upgraded to 8.0.1 and now my settings will not sync (download settings) from the cloud.

I updated Premiere to 8.0.1 yesterday and now I am un able to sync my settings.
I want the settings I have in adobe cloud to be downloaded to my current computer and every time I try and sync it goes all the way to the end (yellow progress bar goes all the way across) and then I get an little box saying Syncing Settings Failed.
I tried logging out  in Premiere and then logging back in.

    Hi bumpfilms,
Please go to https://creative.adobe.com/appsettings and sign in.
Click on clear all settings or clear settings of a particular application (Make sure the application is closed)
Open CC application sign out and sign in again and then try to sync the settings after launching the application again.
