I wish:  Sequential (non-synchronous) loading of tabs . . .

What I would like as an option in Preferences ( Safari ), is the ability to select "one tab at a time" tab loading when doing a multiple tab selection in any particular window. In other words, load one tab at a time successfully, and then load the next tab successfully, and so on.
I have found that Safari can spend a lot of time attempting a multiple tabbed load, and then succeed to load no tabs or just a few, because of timeouts.
While SeaMonkey and Firefox do not offer this as an option, they will successfully load all tabs synchronously, a bit of a tab at a time.
So there may be a requirement that Safari not " time-out " on multiple tab loads, or to give the option for which I am wishing.

Hi
Welcome to Apple Discussions
Regarding your "wish", best place to post it is via Safari Menu>Report Bugs to Apple. While Apple doesn't usually respond to these types of queries, it's a good idea to let Apple know from a User perspective what your needs are.
Regarding the HTTP timeout, 3rd party shareware SAFT has a number of very useful additional features, including one that extends the time interval for page loading (variable - up to the user as to the length of time (in seconds)).

  • How on reboot can I set Firefox to automatically re-load the tabs I had open when I shut down?

Every morning when I do a soft boot to clear the cobwebs out of my PCs brain I have my start settings automatically load 6 apps. Firefox is one. Then I go to a toolbar start tab and click on open all Tabs and it loads 4 tabs for me.
I'm trying to automate this loading of the tabs
I'm using Firefox 4.0. The previous version had a function that asked, when you were closing Firefox, if you wanted the tabs you have open at that point to we load the next time you open Firefox.
This was kind of a jack-leg way of getting tabs open on re-boot, tho it was still an irritation....
This question does not seem to happened in 4.0.
Is there a setting to always invoke the question?
Better yet, is there a setting to always have the tabs / a select group of tabs always open on boot?
Example -in my case I load Vonage, then Sharefile, then 2 home page tabs.
This helps me keep my poor brain organized during the day as I'm multi-tasking in Firefox and the other apps and the phone and such.
    My thanks in advance.

  • After updating firefox today to 6.0, firefox is unable to load multiple tabs at the same time. When I try, firefox refuses to load any pages, and instead is stuck trying to connect to each page.

After I updated firefox to 6.0 today firefox has developed a problem loading multiple tabs. When I try to load 10+ tabs, either at the same time or by opening each tab separately, each tab is stuck trying to connect to the desired page. This continues if I close all the tabs and try to load a single page, the single page is unable to get pass connecting. In order to load a new page when this situation arises I must close down firefox and start again, and the program has no history of the previous session.

Do a MALWARE check with these Malware Scanning programs. You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. Make sure that you UPDATE each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

  • Firefox keeps loading multiple tabs of: Index of file:///c:program files/mozilla then eventually crashes

Firefox keeps loading multiple tabs of: Index of file:///c:program files/mozilla
    Here are the details:
I start Firefox (6.0.2.4262) (I'm running version 6 due to compatibility issues with my online college having problems uploading files with FF version 7 or 8)
I enter a web address (i.e. www.yahoo.com) and as soon as the page begins to load I have multiple tabs and windows opening.
When I attempt to close one of the windows it gives the warning I am try to close "22 tabs" - yep... 22 tabs.
If I allow FF to keep loading all the tabs, etc., about a minute later it will crash. The submit a crash window appears.
I have all extensions and add-ons disabled.
I even uninstalled Java, Flash, and several other programs in hopes that the problem would stop.
In addition, I ran a malwarebytes scan and an Avira virus scan which both came up clean. I also used CCleaner to wipe out history and clean the registry. I even made hidden files visible and deleted the Mozilla install folders under my user name.
So, then in hopes of searching for some answers on the Mozilla forums I started up the horrible Internet Explorer and also get a million different pages loading of the preset homepage of "msn.com", which also crashes
(I apologize for starting and using IE, but I was limited on resources to check the internet for info)
If anyone can offer some assistance, or advice on this issue I would greatly appreciate it.
    I am also using:
    Windows 7 Ultimate
    SP1
    Thank you,
    Biff

Firefox keeps loading old tab when closed and a new Firefox was started. (My Startup home page is set to "restore to default". I even set sessionstore to 0 in about;config) Still same issue

Deleting sessionstore files did not help. But resetting firefox helped. Thanks everyone.

  • Do not load pinned tabs on launch until selected - config not working

When I pin tabs I do not want them to load upon re-launch until selected
Looking through this Forum I see :
These related prefs can be found on the about:config page.
    browser.sessionstore.restore_hidden_tabs
    browser.sessionstore.restore_pinned_tabs_on_demand
However even when both are set to : false (which is default setting)
all my pinned tabs get loaded upon next launch which slows down launch.
    any suggestions ?

You would have to set the <b>browser.sessionstore.restore_pinned_tabs_on_demand</b> pref to true to disable loading pinned tabs (pinned tabs are restored by default)

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Flushing Indicator in Load charge tab of Nomination

    Dear All,
Has anyone worked on line flushing scenario, using tank dips ( not meters). I found the flushing indicator in the load discharge tab of the nomination item, but dont really know how is it to be used,or what are the implications.
Appreciate if someone can advice me on using the flushing process in nominations.
    Thanks,

Customized radio buttons is a neat idea I hadn't thought of.  In my situation I dynamically load items into the subpanel and have no way of knowing until it runs, how many items there are that can be loaded into the subpanel.  For me this is why I use a single column listbox listing the VIs that can be loaded and clicking on one loads it into the subpanel.
As for the question about control references.  You could potentially scan through the subpanel VIs looking for the same references that you normally look for in the main.  Or you could have events go the other way where the subpanel registers for all controls it has (similar to your Main right now) and then it can generate a user event sent to the Main with the reference of the control that just changed.  This is just two of many different approaches and without knowing more its hard to say what would work best for you.

  • Compared to google chrome, when using firefox with fb, it is choppy and so slow to load new tabs and general info. Google is by far superior wish you could make ff the equal as I use both simultaneously

I use google chrome and firefox at the same time, logged on to different accounts in fb, google chrome functions smoothly, opening new windows or tabs or even just loading is quicker, firefox fills like it is working to hard, like pulling teeth, new tabs are slow to open, new windows are slower, just loading fb is slower, the whole experience is extremely choppy. Even when just using firefox alone, it is extremely choppy, not really sure how to explain it. It used to be the equivalent to goggle chrome and my browser of choice.

It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. See [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes this article] for information about troubleshooting extensions and themes and [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+plugins this one] for plugins.
If you need support for one of your add-ons, you'll have to contact its author.
If the problem does not disappear when all add-ons are disabled, please tell me, so we can work from there. Please have no fear of following my instructions to the line, as all can be easily undone.

  • Cannot load old tabs

I have 60 tabs that I wish to open upon startup, but after updating firefox it will simply not load any of the websites. Tabs are opened, but they cannot connect. It simply gets stuck when trying to reach the websites. It worked just great before updating my firefox. If I open firefox with only one tab, I can surf freely, but I wish to open all at once upon startup, how can I fix this?
    Disabling plugins doesn't help

Does it help if you disable CCleaner for Firefox?
It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the files sessionstore.js [2] and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
    * Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.<br />
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

  • Slow loading and tabbing with dynamic form

Hi. I have a 45 page pdf and I need to be able to select some pages to not print based on content of a field. To do this I understand the form needs to be saved in Acrobat v7 or greater and saved as a dynamic form. So far so good. When I create the dynamic form by opening the existing 45 page pdf, livecycle creates a form object for each line in the document. That's a ton of objects that don't need to be objects. I am adding 15 enterable fields into this document. For example the document may contain a line of text "Last Name", this appears as a form object as described. I am adding a text field next to that so the user can enter their last name. After saving the document it takes a long time to load and the tabbing from field to field is very slow. I am thinking this might be due to processing all the form objects that don't need to be form objects, but not sure. Question: based on my description is there a way to create this document without all those non-enterable form objects?

can it done that when i open several pages in new tabs at once firefox will load them one at a time and one after another. And that way it will finish loading them all???

  • Updated Firefox 18.0.2: Homepage and all other websites will not load anymore, tab remains a blank page. I tried resetting, checking firewall, to no avail.

When I start firefox, instead of loading the homepage, firefox displays a blank page with "New Tab" as its title. If I try to open a new tab and try to enter ANY website it will show it's loading for a second, stop, and remain at the same situation, a blank page with "New Tab" as its title. Other browsers work perfectly fine.
I tried running firefox in safe mode, disabling all plug-ins and extensions, checking my firewall, resetting firefox... all to no avail. Please help!

hello, when this is happening immediately after an update, then it's almost certainly your firewall that is blocking the new version. please try to remove all rules for firefox from your firewall settings and let it detect the new version again. you may also want to try restarting your pc once...

You can have infinite tabs opening if you have selected Firefox as the application to handle a file if you get an ''Open with'' download window.<br />
Firefox should not be selected as the application to handle a file and you have to remove the action that is associated with that file type.<br />
You can delete [http://kb.mozillazine.org/mimeTypes.rdf mimeTypes.rdf] in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder] to reset all actions or set the offending action in Tools > Options > Applications to 'Always Ask'<br />
