I won an iPhone 5 but can't tell if it is unlocked?
I recently won an iphone 5 and it came with a seperate sim card for Virgin Mobile.
Since it came with a sim card I just assumed it was locked to Virgin.
But when I go to activate the phone it asks me to insert a sim card.
Does this mean the phone is unlocked to any carrier until I insert a sim card and activate it?
If that is the case, since I am not a Virgin customer I would clearly insert like to insert my current Rogers sim card from my iphone 4.
Is this possible?
The phone is brand new and never been activated. How can I tell if it is locked?

My sim card for the iphone 4 looks like it is too big for the iphone 5.

In the iPhone backup. Right click on the phone in iTunes and choose "Restore from Backup".

FaceTime is NEVER charged. It is basically going through the internet, as if you were watching a YouTube video, it just takes data. You probably have a data limit through your wireless provider, for example, I can only use 3Gb of data per month on my iPhone 5 through AT&T.
If you use Wi-Fi, you will NOT be charged for data (unless your internet provider has a cap on the amount of data you can use).
If you do facetime over cellular data, you just have to watch your data usage. You can watch your data usage in Settings > General > Usage. AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint all offer free apps you can use to monitor your data usage (among many other things, like pay your wireless bill, etc.). -

Why can't you hear your music on your mac book? Your music needs to be in your iTunes library on your computer when you subscribe to iTunes Match.

Are you checking from within the Apps section of iTunes on your computer? Is there a reason you can't download it directly to the iPhone?

This isn't achely a question it's about iPod not iPhone but can Apple. Make all apps work with iOS 7 even when it's really old
And it's totally impractical for any OS to provide complete backwards compatibility in perpetuity. So no, Apple cannot grant your request. As WJ said, it's the developers' reponsibility to provide updates to their applications to be compatible with newer operating system releases, whatever the platform might be.

Sounds like you have auto app down load enabled. Which is by default if I recall.
Settings---> iTunes & App Store---> Auto App Download.
