I'm planning to buy iPad 3/4G online and ship it to my address in US but i can't buy online without choosing a network carrier, I don't have a problem with that but does it work if I'm not in US and using different 4G network carrier in other countries? or it will be locked
The New iPad is not locked to a carrier. Their are some hardware differences between an AT&T and Verizon iPad. Either will work using 3G worldwide if the local carrier offers iPad plans. Neither 4G connections will work anywhere but Canada and the US. http://www.apple.com/ipad/specs/

I'm fairly sure the Verizon CDMA iPad 2 had no GSM sim slot. So it won't work with any other carrier except Verizon.
As far as the AT&T version goes, it should technically work but will not support 4G/LTE cellular bands.
Given iPad 2's are no longer being sold, I doubt any that could be bought would have a warranty still. Or have at most very little of it left.
Why an iPad 2? its now 3 generations behind the current one.
Perhaps an iPad 4 would be a better choice. -

That will depend on how you buy the iPad.
If you buy it from an Apple Store directly at full price it will be unlocked, and can take a sim card from any compatible GSM carrier.
If you buy it directly from T-Mobile under a subsidy(at a discount price tied to a service contract) Then it may be locked to T-Mobile for at least 40 days of service with them. -

Planning to Buy iPad-3 concerned about Backlight Bleeding issue !

I am planning to buy the iPad-3, BUt with so many issues of Backlight Bleeding issues popping up. It looks a Rampant issue. Do you guys think I should wait some days before the First Batch of Munfacturing is sold out. Maybe once the Second Batch of production hits the stores this problem would not be there. But at the moment looks like Early Production and the Hasty process to get the Products out on Launch day and ready for delivery could have been the reason these issues slipped out of Quality Control. Do I wait like a month or so? I can do that, will waiting a month help ? I hope I dont get it in my iPad. I dont wanna go through the hassles of exchanging and stuff I would rather wait and buy a little late than go through these issues.

AugustyaAugustya, you are always free to wait until another round of hardware becomes available if you are concerned about problems people are having.
I would point out, though, that the discussion group is often looked at as an emergency room in a hostpital...you see only problems because no one healthy goes there. You can get a false sense of the magnitude of problems if you only look at the number of complaints showing up here.
On the news last night they said Apple sold over 3 million iPads last weekend...the couple dozen problems brought up on here is insignificant out of 3 million items. Another way of looking at the magnitude of the problem.
So if you have the ability to buy now, you can always go to the store, Apple if that is what you have available, open the iPad there, check it out (they come charged) and see if there is a light bleed problem. If so complain on the spot and ask for a different unit.
Or wait for another round to be manufactured...just do what you are most comfortable doing. -

Sushil RaisinghaniWell, first you have to come to the US to do that. When you do you will pay US sales tax in the state where you purchase it. Understand that once your return to India your warranty will not likely be honored, so you will have to return it to the US for any warranty repair. If you have it repaired in India by a non-Apple certified shop, then any further warranty will be voided.
Keep that all in mind before doing what you plan to do. You may find it is wiser to purchase it in India from an Apple certified reseller or retailer. -
Can a 128 ssd storage still effectively work if I install windows 8.1 plus msoffice and a window-based proposal system? I plan to buy a macbook air entry level with 1.7 gh i5 processor.
If you are going to use Mac OS X and its associated applications, and a BootCamp partition with Windows 8, and MS Office and all of the work created there, you will more than likely run out of space on a 128 GB SSD pretty quickly...especially if you put any music, photos or videos on it. Those things take a lot of space so you will have to be very, very careful about what you want to put on a 128 GB storage space. You would be better off going for 512 GB with what you plan on doing with it.

its not like i must...but i do prefer apple for build quality and the way the os uses the hardware..
Priority of the laptop will be:
1- Going live with it, using softwares like ableton like or garageband to trigger samples and ambient patches with MIDI keyboard.
2- Designing on photoshop
3 - Occasional video rendering mostly non hd but good quality like youtube 720p
4 - Gaming when i am bored - I am not at all into gaming but i would surely love to play some
But i want something that will be durable/storngly built and its hardware/processor good enough to run for 3-4 years.
Now if a laptop then which one?

Check out what system the carriers in Qatar operate on and check the technical specs of the iPhone 4s.
The chances are the iPhone 4s will work fine on their network.
You will need to make sure the carriers in Qatar offer Micro SIM cards to use in the iPhone 4s. If the carriers don't offer Micro SIM, you will not be able to use the iPhone 4s with a standard SIM (without a bit of SIM card surgery).

be sure to buy the iPhone 6 or 6 Plus, and buy it an apple store in Japan (do NOT buy it at a network service provider), and when you buy it be sure to tell the salesperson that you want the SIM free version.
if do the above, then the phone will work in the UK.

But I have provided you with the specifications of the two screen sizes of both the MacBook Pro Retina and the MacBook Air to compare with the requirements of your apps. did you get a satisfactory response on your question re oracle 10g on os x snow leopard? I am curious as I have been 'struggling' with it for a few days now. To my experience thusfar, the oracle files provided are not up to date with current java versions or os x leopard and require some tweaking. my own answer to your question is that it does appear that you can install and run oracle 10g on mac os x snow leopard, but it seems to be a little hacky to get through it all. Some information here, other information there, haven't yet found a single source that has all the play by play and gotcha fixes documented. I am rsisting nuking my debian install on amd64 just to put fedoracore which does appear to be a supported env for oracle 10 on linux.

You won't be able to order it online unless you have a US credit card tied to a US address and a US shipping address, so I am assuming you are coming here to purchase it. If so, call ahead before you go buy it to make sure they have one in stock.
