I am looking for a Mac based software program that is easy to use to design kitchens and baths.
Do you know of any?
A friend uses Google's SketchUp ... free, and it created isometric views that satisfied the city/county/neighborhood-association when building his deck.
"Free" is worth a look, I would guess.

The bottom rubber case of my macbook 13" late 2009 has expanded and has detached from the main body..As i'm not presently under warranty i wanted to know will the repair be free of charge for me. After using only Windows computers at work and home our company leadership now allows us to purchase Mac Pro Books if we desire. I am VERY excited!!!
Both of our sons work as engineers in Silicon Valley and will not purchase anything but Macs for years. Both son's schedules hinder me to get the answers quickly from them so I am seeking advice from you.
I love the idea of finally getting a Mac but have some questions and need to find a source to answer my questions before I send in the request for the new computer. If any of you could respond to these "beginner" Mac questions it would be wonderful.
1. I teach a large variety of classes using Powerpoint style presentations. I own a very nice wireless USB remote that I use to move between slides. Will the ProBook allow me the ability to use my remote? If so is there anything I need to know to make it work?
2. What are the tradeoffs of the 13 inch ProBook versus the 15 inch model?
3. What external devices/equipment should I plan to have available to be effective in an office environment?
4. In moving from Windows to Mac what is the best was to bridge the learning curve so I can become effective as quickly and effectively as possible?
I am very excited to make this change and your advice would be so appreciated.

Have you checked the Web site of the manufacturer of your wireless USB remote, to see if their product supports MacBook Pros?
In general, the 13-inch MacBook Pro has less powerful hardware than the 15-inch model. A detailed comparison can be found in the right-hand column of the table here.
Which external devices/equipment do you currently have to be effective in an office environment with your Windows computer? The list is likely to be similar with a computer that runs OS X.
Which applications do you currently depend upon under Windows? That might be the best guide to providing advice on how to best adapt to OS X. -
I have downloaded AAC files but I have also added some Mp3s I made earlier from CDs I own and I have updated the info for them in iTiunes and it doesnt seem to have updated the ID3 Tags.

Could someone please suggest a program or software which is easy to use and won't confuse the life out of me. I'm not very tech savvy!! Haha *sigh*
The easiest option would to purchase a backup hard drive and store your data there. Hard drives are getting cheaper all the time, and all you have to do is drag and drop. Lots of good choices here, but I've had good luck with the super-reliable G Drive and the Seagate Freeagent Go.
When it comes to transferring the DVD, there are some legal ambiguities to address. Strictly speaking, by strict application of copyright law, it's even illegal to copy content you own. In short, if you purchased a DVD, it can't be copied. However, "fair use" is often used to justify copying content - movies or software - that you've paid for already. That means you'll have to "rip" the DVD. Since powers at Apple are likely to object to fair use arguments, you'd best to investigate the details on your own.

I have to use a SAP system that only supports 32-bit, so if I can choose to have a Firefox browser as a 32-bit browser on my Mac, how do I do this?
On Mac, Firefox comes as a i386/x86_64 universal binary, so should be working in 32 bit mode as well.

In addition there is no mention of NAT rules although you may or may not need them depending on what you are doing currently.
Also can't guarantee it would work in terms of the ports but a quick internet search is all you need for that.

I think you need to be more specific in your question.
The typical development environment involves the developer having his own copy of the application server binaries, executing code off of the local filesystem, and developing on the local filesystem. (Using some version control system to sync his code with the team code.) The most common reason for this is that most people are using Windows as a development platform.
That said, it doesn't have to be that way. There is nothing preventing you from using a remote filesystem for the app server binaries. (Or even running your development server remotely.)
What exactly are you trying to accomplish? -
My OS is Windows 7 Home Permium. Basically my problem is not with Firefox (or Thunderbird) but is with the speed of my internet connection which is a whopping 26.4kbps at its maximum. Updating to a newer version is virtually impossible due to the sheer size of the download since my server (ISP) times out long before an update is downloaded. Is either program, Firefox or Thunderbird available on CD? If so where and how much does it cost? I ask the latter part of this question because I am on Social Security and every penny counts. BTW, I love both programs, much better than any offering by Microsoft especially that "Windows Live Mail" joke.

I will studying in the UK for the next year and want to know if an unlocked iPhone 4S with a new sim card purchased in the UK will work as opposed to getting a new phone? There seem to be differeing opinions on this.
Iphone 4s only has one version so it should work world wide in any carrier..As long as it's and unlocked version ofcourse.

my speaker doesn't work when I try to listen to music or open up a quick time file, however they seem to work perfectly when I listen to a voice memo (p.s. the volume slider disappears in a song page and even in the multi tasking bar)
Thanks for your solution, it wasn't quite what solved the problem but i remembered that i had a bit of salt water on my phone recently and spraying the charging port with an anti-oxide spray solved my problem, do you mind if i ask, how is the charging port related with the volume or/and speakers?

I signed up for my apple account while living in Canada, and now I lives in the US. I am looking for a specific app that apparently is only available through the US app store. How can I change my account to the US Apple Store?
As long as you have a form of payment (credit or debit card) with a USA source, and with a billing address in the USA, then you just need to change your payment information on your account to that, change your country in the store settings, and you will then be able to shop in the USA store.
Your AppleID will work in any country's store, as long as your payment source and billing addres are also specific to that country (and you are in that country as well, as there may be IP filters in place to stop use outside of the country). -
So I have an iphone and for some reason I don't know the password for my Apple ID so I can't download apps and I don't have the password to my email to change it and I don't know the secret questions , what can I do to make a new Apple ID ?
I have the same problem - it is maddening. I rely on this iPad for work so this is not just an annoyance! The above solutions of changing the appleid on the device or on the website do not work.
The old email address no longer exists - I haven't used it in a year probably and I no longer have the account. I logged into the appleid website and there is no trace of the old email address so there is nothing that can be deleted or changed there. On the iPad there is no trace of the old email address so nothing can be deleted there either. I have updated the iPad software and the same problem comes right back. Every 2 seconds I am asked to log in using the old non-existent email. The device is currently useless.
The only recent change to anything was the addition of an Apple TV device, which was set up using the correct login and password.
Does anyone have any ideas? The iPad has been backed up to the iCloud so presumably it now won't recognize the current iCloud account? So restoring may notbe an option?
