I would have been happier with the final if FC did what its supposed to do...WORK!

So I can say I finally got my site up and running….JUST. It was created in Flash Catalyst CS5 and I have to say the program made it pretty easy to build until the file started to push 15MB. NOTHING close to the 40MB FC seems to have issues with. At the end of the build I was getting extremely frustrated with the program continuously shutting down claiming it was out of memory. I spent two hrs this morning trying to add the final touches. This would have taken 15 minutes max if the program was running correcly. Its not a weakness in my computer either, this machine is more than capable of creating this site.
The site is www.christianmichaelphotography.com. For now its going to have to stay the way it is as the last time I tried to work on the file I got an error message saying “This FXP project is invalid and cannot be opened”
Luckily I had saved a version to upload to the web so rolled with it. Its not finished and some links don’t work but If FC doesn’t run…for now the site has to stay as it is. A very bitter sweet moment for me. Adobe….you really need to sort this memory issue out.

Same thing for this forum. Some people had problems activating their iPad 2 with Verizon. Most didn't and certainly wouldn't post here.
I would not use this as a consideration in which iPad to buy. Rather I would consider whether I might be traveling outside the US with the iPad 2. If you are, then you most certainly need the AT&T (GSM) version if you want to be able to access data without using WiFi. The Verizon iPad has no SIM card, and the technology it uses is pretty much limited to the USA.

I have been shooting mostly high resolution jpegs and I continue to learn more and more about photography, post processing etc. I realize that the small adjustments I can make in iPhoto are good, and are adequate most of the time. However, a have started to experiment with shooting RAW images and would like to go the next step, ie. post processing.I am totally technically challenged and need SIMPLE, INTUITIVE programs and am certainly NOT anywhere ready for Photoshop CS whatever!

I have heard horror stories about moving your entire library to Aperture, ending up with 2 libraries, etc. etc. hence my previous reluctance in attempting Aperture. In addition, many of my photography friends are saying: Go with Lightroom 3.....you’ll love it!
So here is my dilemma. I don’t want to mess around with my iPhoto library. All I want to be able to do, is to isolate a few photos, export them to Aperture, Elements, and work on them there, then bring them back into iPhoto.
Can I do this? Should I forget about Aperture and Elements and look at purchasing yet another program like Lightroom?

Export those few photos via the File ➙ Export ➙ File Export menu option with Kind = Original to the Desktop. Then import them into the Aperture library. That would keep one copy in your iPhoto library and another in your Aperture library to edit, etc.
You can use Photoshop Elements 9 from within iPhoto as your editor of choice. However, if you edit a raw file in iPhoto with PSE9 the resulting edited version must be saved outside the iPhoto Library and imported back in as a new file. For editing jpegs just do a Save (not a Save As) and it all will be kept within iPhoto.
Using Photoshop or Photoshop Elements as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop or Photoshop Elememts as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window
that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
NOTE: With Photoshop Elements the Saving File preferences should be configured as shown:
I also suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always. In PSE’s General preference pane set the Color Picker to Apple as shown:

If you use iPhoto to edit more than PSE re-select iPhoto in the iPhoto General preference pane. As I said, if there is a passcode in place they do not know, you will be able to track down the device, irrespective the SIM card they are using. By the way, if the device is locked, they should first unlock it in order to make their SIM work, calling the carrier and giving all your personal data they do not have.
On the other hand, if the phone is unlocked and does not have any passcode, then yes, they will be able to use any SIM with it and turn off any tracking software.

Same as in previous: if they have the iPhone without any lock then yes, they will be able to restore it as a new phone.

i did not get any reasons or explanations. the email just stated that my order was canceled and that it won't be posted to my credit card (i have more than enough to cover the cost, so that is not the issue). also my husbands phone was paid for from the same card moments before me. my balance is always paid automatically and on time. so that couldn't be the reason either. that's what so frustrating is because they didn't explain what happened. this is what the email read exactly:

(on my iphone i LOST some of my contacts, all of my reminders are gone, and nothing is showing up on the ical on my iphone, and only some notes are showing).......
2). everything is still shown on my macbook pro.... but when i tired to go and sync it..... nothing is transfering to my phone........
3). when i log into the 2 icloud accounts i have with icloud(.com) nothing is showing up in there also......

I have tried repairing with the disk utility, resetting PRAM, booting in safe mode (which gave a subset of the errors that 'disk repair' did- namely- 'invalid sibling link,invalid record count, invalid node structure, invalid key length) and finally trying to get to archive&install the o/s, but it cannot find the destination volume. Is an erase the only option? PS I have backed up most files individually, but my daughter did not back up any from her user account. Any help would be appreciated. J
