I would like firefox to automatically magnify.

I know how to zoom in, but I have to do it each time I open a webpage. Sometimes, it will even reset the zoom when I click a link, and I have to do it again. It's a hassle and a huge drawback when using firefox with a high resolution screen. I would like to be able to set a zoom size and have it automatically open all webpages to that size. Is that possible?

If you need to adjust the font size on websites then look at:

  • I would like firefox to automatically remember passwords without the prompt - is that possible?

    No, that is not possible.

  • Hi, I have answered no to the question about saving password for one spesific site. I have changed my mind and would like Firefox to save the password. How do I reactivate the password saver for one spesific site?

Hi, I have answered no to the question about saving password for one spesific site. I have changed my mind and would like Firefox to save the password. How do I reactivate the password saver for one spesific site?

Check exception list of your Firefox password Manager and check if your site is there or not?

  • The box that asks if i would like firefox to remember this password doesn't pop up, how do i enable it?

I need to know how to enable the box that asks if i would like firefox to remember this password.

Normally when you install Firefox this feature is turned on by default. You can check the status in the Options dialog:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Security tab
In the second section, there's a checkbox for "Remember passwords for sites". These articles have more information:
    * [[Password manager - Remember, delete and change saved passwords in Firefox]]
    * [[Use a Master Password to protect stored logins and passwords]]
Now... some sites add code to the fields on their forms to block autocompletion (which also blocks saving logins), so you may find some sites where Firefox will not offer to save the password for this reason. There may be workarounds, as have been discussed many times for Yahoo! mail, for example, but since these are lengthy to describe, please post back if the problem is site-specific and if possible provide a link to the login form.

  • I would like firefox to open links in windows live mail.

I want Firefox to open links I click on in windows live mail 2011 instead of internet explorer

This happened to me when I installed 4.0 BETA. I un-installed BETA as I didn't like it. I then used 3.6 but the links opened with Internet Explorer. I re-installed 3.6 and it's now working fine so I would suggest re-installing whatever version you have.

  • I would like Firefox to show a splash screen immediately, whenever I start it or click on a link while it is not running.

Firefox loads fairly slowly, in my opinion. It's worth the wait, but I'd like to at least know that it's loading, so I don't have to sit there wondering if I should click the link again. I tried the Splash add-on a few versions back, but found that the splash screen did not appear until near the end of the loading process, which is nearly useless. What is needed is something that pops up immediately after I click a link or a shortcut. Is there any way to configure this?

Firefox should open in a few second. If it takes tens of seconds or even minutes then you may have a problem with an extension or another profile issue or security software that is monitoring Firefox too strictly.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).<br />
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]<br />
    <br />
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems<br />
    See [[Basic Troubleshooting#Make_a_new_profile|Basic Troubleshooting&#58; Make a new profile]]<br />
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins"<br />
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)<br />

  • I would like Firefox to load multiple tabs when I load the program

IE allows its users to specify multiple tabs to open every time IE opens (multiple home pages tabs?). How can I do this with Firefox? I was sure that it at least HAD been an option at one point in time.

  • Can I keep firefox at a 125% zoom level? I use my HDTV as a monitor and would like the view to be larger without having to hit "ctrl +" on each web page.

I would like firefox to default to a 125% zoom level. Is ther a way I can do this through firefox or through my desktop?

The following Add-on will allow you to set whatever default %-age works best for you. After install, go to Add-ons > Extensions > Default FullZoom Level > Options, in the Options window, "Default FullZoom Level (percent)". That will set ALL pages at your choice.

  • I am unable to use my Kaspersky antivirus web extension with the updated version of Firefox, I have uninstalled Firefox and would like the previous version

I have installed the updated version of Firefox but it has automatically disabled my Kaspersky anti virus web browsing extension. I have now uninstalled Firefox and would like the earlier version back please.

The main Protection is still active because it scan traffic product regardless.the addon are just shortcut of few things like Virtual Keyboard, Url Banner etc. But doesnot get you '''more''' protection. If your Antivirus say green and your web component is enable then all is good. You are protected. :)
btw The Patch '''h''' for Kaspersky 2012 which currently in beta stage. Please wait few days, and you will get this patch when it will release via Database Update .See:

this Patch will elimante the problem of compatibility between Firefox 10 and Firefox 11. Stay tuned.

  • I have recently installed Firefox 4.0 but would like to go back to 3.6. Can I do this without loosing all of my addons and bookmarks?

I have some favorite add-ons that are not yet compatible with version 4. I would like to go back to 3.6 without loosing all of my setup.

To downgrade to Firefox 3.6.* you can uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install Firefox 3.6.* available from http://www.mozilla.com - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.
For details of how to find your profile folder see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles

  • I am using FireFox 4. Where is the "Bookmark All Tabs-" feature. I would like to save my Tabs for a later session. The selection is not on the menu when I right-mouse click or go to the Bookmarks feature of the Menu.

Missing "Bookmark All Tabs…" feature which was in previous versions of FireFox 3.x. If you right-mouse click on a neutral part of the Browser window, there would be choice of "Bookmark this page" or "Bookmark All Tabs…". I have been unable to find it either in the sub-menu or the BOOKMARK selection from the Menu Bar.

What do you mean by Tabs sub-menu is it right-clicking on a tab ?
I know that "ctrl-shift-D" still work.
I know that a right-click on a tab gives the "Bookmark all Tabs" function.
But I would like to see it back in the Bookmarks menu. (which is its logical place)
Because today the choice only disappeared from the menu as it is still reachable through keyboard shortcut or through mouse right-click on a tab
but tomorrow it will totally disappear and personally I don't want that as this is one of my favorite functionality.
Tank you for your understanding !
