I think I will answer a question with a different question ... what is it that you want to do now that you can't do in PSE? What parts of PSE are you unhappy with?
Because really the answer to your question is that it is beneficial to some people, and a waste of money for others, and I don't know which category you are in without a lot more information from you on how you use the sofware and what new/additional features you are looking for.
As an alternative, you can download 30-day free trials of Lightroom and Photoshop and see if you like these programs, instead of relying on my judgment. If you are going to do this, please view some tutorial videos on Lightroom, do not skip this step.

Numbers is a lightweight spreadsheet. If you know sql you will know that it can handle many queries and is a real databases that can handle many thousands of records. Number is not the correct tool. You can make something that does something like a query but it is not truly a query.

Now before I arrive to my question I would like to point out that I am (basically) clueless when it comes to computer hardware and that kinda stuff, so don´t make fun. I would also like to say (reluctantly admit) that I am currently using an acer aspire computer with the worst keyboard imaginable; I have to crush the keys for them to be activated, so pardon me if some letters are missing. As an example I will type this message: 'Happy new year! Hope you have a great one! What will Miley Cirus do this year?' without crushing the keys, just typing as though I were using an apple keyboard. 'Happy new year! Hope yo hve a gret one! Wht will Miey Ciru do ths year?'. Yup. Don't like PCs.
So I have a few questions about external hard-drives. I am buying a 13 inch macbook pro 128GB of RAM (The newest model). I choose this one for maybe an obvious reason: It's the cheapest one, but I want and need a lot of storage for my movie-making and photo-editing. So I thought 'Gee why don't I buy a 1TB or 2TB external hard-drive?'.

How does an EHD (External Hard-Drive... Sorry each word typed with this keyboard is torture) work? Is it like a usb flashdrive? You connect it via usb or firewire and a disk thing appears on your desktop?

What happens if I disconnect it? (by accident)

Which one should I get? I would rather not get one from apple since they're so expensive, but I'm looking for a 2TB one, preferably on amazon.co.uk.

You may corrupt the data that is on it. You should always disconnect the external device properly by dragging the icon to trash.

Any SATA HDD will be compatible. I suggest that you get one that is powered by the MBP. That affords maximum flexibility. Amazon is a good source.

HT1766 How can I view the content of an iCloud backup of a previous device? I have two backups showing in iCloud, one for my current device and one for a previous device. I would like to review the content from the prior device and possibly consolidate

I want to review content in a backup from a previous iOS device to decide whether to delete the backup from iCloud. I'm most concerned about keeping photos I took on the previous phone. Ideally, I would consolidate the photos to my current device and have just one backup in iCloud.
My current device is a iPhone 5s running 7.0.6, and my prior device was an iPhone 5. Not sure what version of iOS I was running, but last backup on that phone was march 2013.

Converting from Elements to Photoshop and Lightroom on the Cloud

Hi all,
I have an existing Elements Organiser structure (9 I think). Is it possible to upgrade to the Cloud and not lose the Elements filing existing structure?
My thinking is that the full version of Photoshop will take over as the "organiser" and then I can use Lightroom as my initial editor before taking the pictures into Photoshop for filing etc.
Advice would be appreciated.

You are allowed to have two activated installations, so if you prefer you can keep the original installation intact. If you prefer not to then the minimum you need to do is deactivate it.

I have a table with info (course info that I searched for) and would like to select an item from that table to use for further use in my application.
It must work more or less like the tree structure where I can use an On Action select.
In other words; let say I am looking for all courses with "Advisor" it its descriptin / name, I want to click on one of the names and use it lets say to book people on.

I would like some help in determining the proper structure/implementation for the following scenario:
I have ~10 steel rods that have been equipped with a strain gauge. The most I would have is ~30 steel rods.
Each setup has had a 10 point calibration done.
These steel rod/strain gauge setups are assigned a calibration number.
The data would be grouped for each steel rod and identified by the calibration number.
I would like to use that calibration data to determine the Young’s Modulus for each steel rod and store that within the specific rod’s information.
I want the user to be able to add new steel rods dynamically and the Young’s Modulus calculated and stored with it.
There are two different types of rods.
The cross-sectional area of the rod needs to be stored and that value is constant based on the rod type (so there are two different area values).
After a rod’s calibration data is entered the first time, the data should be static so it doesn’t need to be re-entered.
The user would enter the cal#, the 10 point calibration data, and the rod type.
The user will only see the steel rod cal# on the FP.
I am using a queue-based producer/consumer with event structure for the front panel interface. So I’m thinking whenever a rod cal# was added I would call a subvi where the calibration data can be entered and then the Young’s Modulus could be calculated and stored. An option to edit/review existing cal data should be available.

I have not implemented this because I’m not sure how to implement that AND keep the data after it’s been entered. And all of the bundling/unbundling anytime I want to access/edit any rod information can be BD consuming. I thought a lookup table might work. When I looked on the forums for a lookup table I was pointed in the direction of arrays/clusters.
So I have two questions:
What would be the best structure for the steel rod data?
What would be the best data type for the calibration# that the user can edit (enum, ring, ?)?

I would make a couple of small change to your proposed data layout (highlighted in blue):

For the calibration data, I would have an array of clusters rather than a cluster of arrays. IMHO, this makes it easier to index through the calibration points, and makes it less likely you will ever have a situation where you don't have the same number of mV/V and force points. I'd also move the Young's modulus, type, and area info into the Rod Info cluster.
I prefer to store this type of configuration in the system registry, but that is more complicated and far from universal in the LabVIEW world. A simpler way would be to simply pass the entire array to the "write to binary file" function. If you do this, however, you might want to add a version number, otherwise it will be very difficult to maintain backwards compatibility if you ever need to change the data structure.
As far as the control type, it depends on what the user is entering. If the user is mostly entering calibration numbers already in the system, I would use a (system) combo box. This allows the user to select an existing calibration number from the menu, but also to enter a new calibration number if they need to. If the user will almost always enter new calibration numbers, then I would use a standard string control. Either way, you'll probably want to validate the format of the number the user enters.

Perhaps I wasn't clear. iTunes does not get info from the internet unless you are ripping from a CD and it queries the Gracenote/CDDB database. Itunes is too stupid to update songs automatically once they have been added to your library.
I saw the exact same thing as you described, hex numbers in the comments field such as "000B 0A4D 302C...."and it was caused by a WMP update and the settings going back to default. It also filled in composer information, Album Artist, and deleted the track x of y information.
You may think itunes is doing it because these changes also show in itunes after WMP has done its work.
If WMP is still doing this, make sure those options are turned off for all Windows user logins on the PC.

For my Rapid Video Blogging I would like to bring the traffic from You Tube

I hear there are sites as complicated and financially up there, Blogcasts, and all kind of sites that I could try to get involved with to have a place where I can try to get the traffic from watching the Video Rapid Blogs. I am not sure of the technology, from simple sites to a full on website. Does anybody have this knowledge so I could get going on getting this set up. I am brand new at all of this but I have the academic and practical knowledge-working for years in teaching at the college level in exercise physiology, have gone on to get my registered dietician degree so I left school when I was done, put a small studio together where I worked mostly with memdical doctor's referrals since I had been around the rehab docs during my rotation for my exercise physiology degree.
I love the studio, but all my bad technique when I was young and my sport injuries all hit at once. I developed brain CA, had some chemo and radiation. I had to close the studio but I still have to live so I am thinking this rapid video blogging, put out some 3 minute video blogs supporting my ability to help some people who tried all kinds of weight loss methods, work with the tried and true wy but add the psych in that which can help them not expect quick-fixes, not support nutrition bars that do not fit in until they are egged in a exercise program, get rid of all the stuff 24 hour fitness tries to sell them unless they want to know how many steps they take. I could put some 3-4 minute video blogs together bringing the potential customers back to my website or whatever kind of site i would need. i m not up-to-date on all the various site for stuff like this, but if anybody want s to help e get an awareness of what is out there available to me, I would appreciate if anybody has the knowledge and practice in these areas of websites, blog sites, to help me put some classy, straight to-the-pont video info together, I would really appreciate it.
