I would like the older version back - is it possible to reload that? too many things missing
I don't care for the look or usability of the new firefox. can i reload the older version? most specifically, my antivirus program pre-fills passwords on the sights needing them. i now have to go into my menu, open the program in full and click through 3 screens to get to the password part, then find the page i'm on and click. before, it just did it automatically, and it had a button on the toolbar.
Try using disk utility to verify/repair you hard drive, Take a look at this link, http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1782?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

I have installed the updated version of Firefox but it has automatically disabled my Kaspersky anti virus web browsing extension. I have now uninstalled Firefox and would like the earlier version back please.
The main Protection is still active because it scan traffic product regardless.the addon are just shortcut of few things like Virtual Keyboard, Url Banner etc. But doesnot get you '''more''' protection. If your Antivirus say green and your web component is enable then all is good. You are protected. :)
btw The Patch '''h''' for Kaspersky 2012 which currently in beta stage. Please wait few days, and you will get this patch when it will release via Database Update .See:

this Patch will elimante the problem of compatibility between Firefox 10 and Firefox 11. Stay tuned. -
I downloaded Firefox 4.0 and it says to re-install the toolbar but I have not been successful in doing so. I went to the forums and tried all the suggested fixes but none worked. Can I go back to the older version? I had no trouble with that and I do not like this new version at all. I tried a system restore twice and it did not fix the problem.
I would imagine it's the MyWay Searchbar which is classified by most anti-malware scanners as adware, or even worse as spyware. I say that because I see "SmileyCentral" in your list of plugins and that's an add-on for that particular toolbar. You can disable that via Tools | Add-ons | Plugins.
There are a number of toolbars which won't work with Firefox 4 anymore due to the enhanced protection mechanisms in the browser.
Mozilla recommends that you only install add-ons from its own security site @ https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/?browse=featured Generally speaking, those have all been tested and approved. The exceptions are those currently under review which are marked with a yellow banner to warn users that they haven't passed Mozilla's labs yet. -

I have a Mac OS 10.4.11. I had a glitch while I was trying to register to a new WordPress and that site sent me to Firefox and told me to download. Before checking compatibility with my operating system, I download and put it in my applications folder. When I tried to open Firefox, I got a message saying 4.0.1 wasn't compatible with my computer.
I NEED THE OLDER VERSION OF FIREFOX compatible with my Mac. PLEASE SEND IT TO ME. Thanks. You can download Firefox 3.6 here: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all-older
Before reinstalling it, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.) -
My "newer version" of itunes will not open. How can I either get it to open or get the older version which worked fine?
Restore the backup before you installed.
If you didn't make a backup, at very minimum make sure your Music library isn't compromised by locating the folder you selected the music to be in (usually in Users -> yourname -> Music) and make sure there are several MB of data there by clicking once on the folder, and selecting Get Info from the File menu in the Finder.
If you can't find it, try to locate parts of track names with Find Any File.
http://apps.tempel.org/FindAnyFile/
then determine which parent file of the .mp3 or .mpa files you have contains all of the music files by getting info under each previous folder in the folder tree.
Once you determine which folder contains all your music, back it up using the Finder, or backup the entire hard drive using cloning software at least to two different drives or two complete copies on DVDs:
https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-1992
You'll then want to erase and install 10.6 from the system installer you used to put 10.6 on your Mac, and run the combo 10.6.8 updater and apply the necessary security updates:
https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3261
Then you can install older versions of iTunes for the Mac from here, once you determine which version is compatible with 10.6.8 that you liked before by first checking which version is compatible with what you need:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ITunes_version_history
Once you know that, if you can't find it with Google, let us know and maybe one of us can help. Lastly reload your music in your music folder, and your other applications. -
I use different browers' homepage for different email accounts. The older versions of Firefox had a picture of the fox in the upper left of the screen, so if I clicked the home button, I knew I was using the email account associated with Firefox. I like knowing which browser I am using, and that picture of the fox was a great way of my knowing I was working with Firefox.
Instead of a Firefox button, there's now a ≡ Menu Button near the top right corner.

You can install a theme (AKA lightweight theme, persona).

For the Firefox button, you'd have to install Classic Theme Restorer.

The current version of iTunes is rubbish. Half the time when I try to drag and drop new items to my iPod I get an error message. Why? It is not obvious how to create playlists, then when you finally manage do so using the top menu, you click 'Done' and it disappears. ***? This is a dog's breakfast and the developer should be sacked.
Apparently it is possible to set it up so that it looks and behaves like the earlier version, which worked fine--devices and playlists all appeared in fixed position o the left-hand-side men (why mess with this tried-and-true formula?). But I can't work out how to do this. Would appreciate some guidance. It is very similar to the old version.
Just select the sidebar to be visible and it is mostly like the old version. -
I'm using a Mac os x 10.4.11
After downloading Firefox 4 I put it in my applications folder replacing the older version of firefox, now I've learned it is not supported on my system. Please helpThere is a third party version of Firefox 4 that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox
If you prefer, you can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html -
When I try to open FF4 I get the message it can't be opened because it is not supported on my architecture. I can't believe no-one else has had this problem. You must have a lot of internet duffers who don't really know what they're doing. I need to get my old version of FF back if I'm going to run it on my computer. I don't understand why an app as widely used as this doesn't have a pre-app that assesses whether one has the architecture to run a new version. You advertisement merely said OS 10, and "all systems". It did not specify a newer MacOS than my 10.4.11. Now I seem to be out of luck and will just use Safari.
Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third party version of Firefox 4 that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox
If you prefer, you can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html -
Anyone know??? Thanks for the help.
Google "old apps itunes" and you'll find a site with downloads of earlier versions. At first, you'll be told that iTunes can't access your music library because it's a newer version, but you can get around that by dragging the music data file onto iTunes. There's also a tutorial on YouTube that explains pretty clearly how to go back to older versions of iTunes.

Previous versions allowed you to keep the list of Playlists on the left and List all the songs individually on the right. Now if you're building a new playlist, it puts it on the right and lists the songs by albums instead of alphabetically by each song name. I can't seem to find it in the menus...is this view no longer available?
The main differences between iTunes 11 and earlier versions are the loss of coverflow and ability to have multiple windows open.
In Windows, you can restore much of the look & feel of iTunes 10.7 with these shortcuts:
ALT to temporarily display the menu bar
CTRL+B to show or hide the menu bar
CTRL+S to show or hide the sidebar
CTRL+/ to show or hide the status bar (won't hide for me on Win XP)
Click the magnifying glass top right and untick Search Entire Library to restore the old search behaviour
Use View > Hide <Media Kind> in the cloud or Edit > Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the cloud purchases to hide the cloud items. The second method eliminates the cloud status column (and may let iTunes start up more quickly)
If you don't like having different coloured background & text in theAlbum (Grid) view use Edit > Preferences > General and untick Use custom colours for open albums, movies, etc.
With iTunes 11.0.3 and later you can enable artwork in the Songs view from View > Show View Options (CTRL+J) making it more like the old Album List view
View > Show View Options (CTRL+J) also contains options to change the sorting of grid based views
Select the Songs view and enable the side bar (CTRL+S) and you should find iTunes a little more familiar...

I prefered the previous versions when the bookmarks did not update automatically when launching Firefox

The index tabs were on some kind of toolbar just below the bookmark toolbar and you could see what was open in multiple tabs. I'm not referring to rolling over the Firefox icon for the Windows 7 thing, that's a pain. These index tabs were in plain sight. No matter what I try in Firefox 8, they won't appear.
the tabs were move to above the navigation bar, where the menu bar was. They hardly look like tabs there, but you may have turned off the tabs bars. View (Alt>V) > Toolbars > Tabs Bar

I would like the downloads box back. Is there any way to get it.
Before when I was downloading something there was a separate small box like a separate page so even if I closed the browser the downloads would still continue the box would still be there. Now the download shows in the right had top of the page in very small print. So I forget I'm downloading and close the browser I lose the hole download. It doesn't even ask (like Opera) are you sure you want to close you will lose your download.
You can set the browser.download.manager.quitBehavior pref to 2 on the about:config page.
That will make Firefox ask for confirmation if you want to cancel the download when you close Firefox.
