I would like to completely remove the firefox nightly build. I have searched for this info already and havent found anything that could help. I'm fairly new to linux. I'm currently running ubuntu 11.10
I am just trying to remove nightly from my computer. I removed firefox 10 already. I am going to downgrade to firefox 4, but before I do, I want nightly off my computer and it is not listed under synaptic or any other package installer. There is a reason I want the older version of firefox, but I won't get into that right now. Thats a totally different issue. But I am fairly new to linux, so please try to give directions or answers in a way that I will be able to understand if possible. Thank you for your time.
Firefox 10a1 is an older alpha (Aurora/Nightly) version.
Is that a version that you installed yourself from the Mozilla server or is that a version from the Ubuntu repositories?
In the case of the latter you need to use the install and remove software item of your Linux distribution.
If you installed Firefox yourself then you can simply remove the Firefox installation directory.

I'm 65, have used Macs since 1989, and struggle with displays, cataracts, and bifocals. What I've seen of the Retinas in stores is that text size gets sacrificed for image quality. There are quite a few complaints about Retina in the MacBook Pro forums about not being able to increase the size of menu text without it getting fuzzy.
My iMac 27-inch is about a year old and I can set the display res from its default of 2560x1440 to 1920x1080 and everything is sharp. I understand that handy trick will not work for either the older hi-res macbook pros or the Retinas, so I don't expect it for any other Macs.
Speculation on Apple policy and new product releases is actiually not allowed by the Terms of Use around here so I doubt you'll get an answer to the "when" part. Anyone who does answer "when" is either guessing it up or violating a non-disclosure agreement! Apple plays its cards close to its vest and we average users only know "when" when Apple posts the announcement. -

I currently use iCloud on a MacBook Pro. I opened my iBook G4 that hasn't been used in years. I have many email messages that i would like to transfer to the MacBook Pro, but every password I use to access MobileMe is not accepted. Any suggestions on retrieving or transferring the emails?
MobileMe was discontinued around 2 years ago. Anything on the MMe servers are long gone. The MMe passwords are uselsess because MMe is no more.
Unless you created an iCloud account back before MMe was taken off line you won't be able to recover any emails.

And only two weeks ago I decided to purchase an iMac computer OS X Maverick, and there are a lot of files and information I would like to bring to the Mac, but I'm having problems playing my music file, suited to the PC but not with iMac as yet. Robert KlaassenWMA files are 'window media audio' files, which is a Microsoft format. If you want to add them to your iTunes library on your Mac then you will need to convert them into a compatible format first. I am having an issue with iTunes seeing my music on my server because when I directed iTunes to the location of my music folder it installed an iTumes folder and doubled up size of the music in the folder causing an issue with the amount of space left on the HDD. I was unaware that iTunes did this and would like to start all over again but have the iTunes folder on a different HDD from the HDD with the music on it.
Am I asking for something that is not able to be accomplished or is there a way to do this?
I am unable to keep the music on my laptop because the HDD is setup in a triple boot(XP, Vista, Win7) and each partition has less than 50GB of space left in it and I have alot more music than I have space.
I have readjusted the files on my server as I used to share some of my documents on the HDD where the music was located but there still is an issue with space once iTunes doubles up the files. I have a HDD attached to the server specifically for iTunes once I get this issue solved with more than enough space.

Hi, I wanted more room to view on the web, so I thought I'd get rid of some of the toolbars that were taking up space. I went to the edit tab (i think) and then selected toolbars and then just unticked the ones I wanted to lose.Worked like a charm...
Only problem was that I unticked the wrong one. Now I can't search on the web or enter a url as there is nothing there anymore. Any I do mean NOTHING expect my roboform toolbar and the "Getting Started" Firefox tab just above that.
Reason I stressed the "nothing" is because I went on yahoo answers and someone just said...go to edit and...He obviously didn't get that I don't have any kind of firefox tabs left on my browser ( except for the "getting started" tab)
I don't want to uninstall and reinstall as I'm worried I'll lose my bookmarked pages.
Would be really grateful if you could advise me of an alternative solution to getting my tabs, search bar and address bar back please?

ps as I don't have any tabs I can't tell you which version I have installed, but your clever software looks like it's got it right.Try this: press F10 or tap the Alt key to display the menu bar temporarily, then
View > Toolbars > Menu Bar
If that doesn't work, you could reset your toolbars to factory default using Firefox's Safe Mode. First, make a backup of your computer for safekeeping. To back up Firefox, see [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information].
Next, start Firefox in Firefox
[http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode Safe Mode], and check only the box to reset toolbars. Be careful not to "reset" anything else if you didn't back up.

My iPOD class (last generation) shuts off when jostled--like what
happens when the headphones come out. Is there any fix for this?I finally resolved my problem after spending way too much time on it. I simply handed my 160GB iPod to my husband to put his fav Stones & Beatles songs on and I went back to my 80GB Microsoft Zune which has never disappointed me.
After spending so much time trying to figure this out I did finally take it back to Apple Store who performed a diagnostic and found there was a problem with the device. They replaced it with a refurbished one which has similar issues. All I wanted to do was listen to my music. Was that too much to ask? So I am happy to be free of this problematic device. No more Apple for me!! -
I would like to completely remove an app from my iPad and the cloud. Is that possible?
I seem to be having a challenge connecting an app to Facebook to access my friends list, etc. I read that if there is a problem, I need to uninstall the app and reinstall it. I am just pulling back the saved data from the cloud which does not do me any good. I just began the game and do not mind beginning from the beginning since I have not invested any money yet. You may be able to remove existing game data by via the following:
On your iOS device, go to Settings > iCloud, then tap Storage & Backup.
On your Mac, go to Apple () menu > System Preferences, click iCloud, then click Manage.
On your Windows computer:
Windows 8.1: Go to the Start screen and click the down arrow in the lower-left corner. Click the iCloud app, then click Manage.
Windows 8: Go to the Start screen and click the iCloud tile, then click Manage.
Windows 7: Choose Start menu > All Programs > iCloud > iCloud, then click Manage.
Once in the 'Manage' dialog, look for the name or icon of the affected game. If present, you should be able to delete any data the game has saved to your iCloud account.

I would like to programatically set the "Date Unused" on X Scale formatting for time plots.
I can use the X Scale formatting on the front panel, but when I change from time to decimal using property nodes the "date" keeps showing up. How can I turn the date feature off so I just see Time in HH:MMS format?
Disregard. I found the answer. Set the XScale.Format value to 6 (relative Time). feed in total seconds from start of day to the Xo, The reciprocal of data frequency to DeltaX, and set the decimal resolution to 3. This results in a time tagged plot showing just time (no Date).

I have got he new iphone 5 which requres itunes 7. My imac informs me that all updtes are up to date but this is not so! my itunes is not and I am currently on osx 10.5.8. why will it not update as usual?
Updates are free, what you need is an Upgrade...
First you need to research all the problems people are having with the higher OSX versions, & make sure you have a bootable clone of what you have just in case.
then you must get 10.6 if they still have it, install it & update to 10.6.8 so you have the App Store to buy & download the huge 10.8 Installer.

I am currently being billed a monthly charge from iTunes for my Pandora subscription ($3.99/mo) but would like to change to the annual rate offered by Pandora which is $36. I don't see where that change can be made through the iTunes Store. Any ideas? Thanks.
AHow recently did you switch? If it's less than 60 days, then Verizon simply reinstates your previous account. The fact that you were on the EDGE plan and mailed the devices back, and they apparently are somewhere in the system, could cause complications, and it might just work out that you just go back on the same plan and they set you up with the same devices. I'm not sure how it will go - but since you are still being billed for the devices...
