I've tried to use Sente and Papers as citation managers with Pages, but none of them seems to work with Pages 5.5.2. Is there a free or non expensive citation manager for Pages 5.5.2. If not, which version of Pages do I have to use to work with Papers or Sente?

EndNote Citation is on the Pages v5 Insert menu, but will only be active when EndNote is installed. Because it is Pages v5 with all of its shortcomings, bugs, and eccentricities, a current EndNote solution may not interoperate as originally intended by its developers. You should check their site for any issues regarding Pages v5. The link gives you access to a free 30-day trial.
I am not aware of other citation managers that work with Pages v5. If support for Pages v5.2.2. or higher is not offered by a vendor, then it likely will not work.

You can use an image tag on a DIV positioned behind the rest of the page, so that could actually work. And if you want to use body:background, then look up an HTML/CSS reference and see if there are any other body attributes or CSS stuff that applies to the background image. -

Softbank does NOT offer unlocking. You cannot ever use that phone on another network. You will need to purchase a different phone if you wish to use another carrier.

I am planning a trip to South Africa in Nov/Dec. I live in Winnipeg Canada and own an Ipad wi-fi cellular. I would like to know if it is easy once in South Africa to use my device the way it is (i.e. with its existing SIM card etc). Or do I need to acquire a different SIM card? Also in order not to pay a fortune for the service is it better to acquire if needed a SIM card only once there? Also if I need a different SIM card where does one go to get one in South Africa? I have never travelled anywhere other than across Canada with my ipad (I am a fairly recent owner of such a device) and could use some help as to the best way to be able to use my machine in South Africa safely efficiently and at a reasonable cost.

Check with your carrier about roaming charges. They are usually prohibitive. Best to get a local SIM. -

Purchase iLife 11 (includes iDVD) on disk.

Yes, there are programs that will put a movie on a DVD. I have tried most of the other substitutes including Toast, Burn, DVD Creator, Wondershare, and others. None of them come anywhere near the ease-of-use and power of iDVD. -

I currently have a nice home stereo component system. I also have a 500 GB external hard drive loaded with music. I am looking for a way to play the music off this Hard Drive onto my home stereo system. I currently have a WD home entertainment box that I can play movies that I download off the Internet on my TV, of course piped through my home stereo for the sound. I would like to know if the mac-mini could be used in this form also. Just have the HD hooked to it, the TV would become my monitor and the mac mini would play the music ... RANDOMLY ... with the use of iTunes. This of course would be hooked up to the home system with an hdmi cable and the HD hooked up through a USB connection.

You can directly connect the speaker out port of the Mac mini to an input on the AV Receiver which then feeds your speakers. This would be an audio only solution. If you use a TOS-Link connection this will be a pure digital connection ensuring the best quality (important for audiophiles).
You can if you wish connect the video from the Mac mini to the AV Receiver, and if you have a Mac mini with HDMI or a Mini Displayport you can run the audio and video via a single cable. (Older models would use two cables, the aforementioned TOS-Link pus a DVI to HDMI cable.)
If you do connect the video output from the Mac to the AV Receiver you can then display this on your TV, and have as one possibility iTunes displayed with perhaps one of the iTunes visualisers playing along with the music. Another possibility would be to use FrontRow on the Mac.
A different approach would be to have the Mac mini stream over a network to a device e.g. the Sonos Zoneplayer which is then connected to the AV Receiver. An AirPort Express is also able to do this. -

UffeIt is Command+r or for the online internet system it is Command+option/Alt+r keys. Then you use Disk Utility to erase the macintosh partition, from the built in recovery hd, or you can repartition the drive as one partition from the online system.
To actually get to the online internet system you have to hold that key combo down until you see a globe on the screen. Otherwise it will just boot from the built in recovery hd on the internal drive. -
every time i try to oppen a file like an image or a PDF it oppens by default using oreview built in appliction
occasionally this is accompanied by a long delay after wich the preview oppens every file in the downloads folder and i can navigate through them with ease

because every tome i want to oppen an image there is a risk it would take a minnute or twoIn the finder right click on the iPhoto library and show package contents, find the folder named import (or importing) and drag it to the desk top. Do NOT make any other changes of any sort. Launch iPhoto and you will Be fine. Open the import(ing) folder and if there are any photos in it you need import them to iPhoto then trash the imoort(ing) folder.

It should not be a problem, as long as you are careful. Note the delete settings option when uninstalling firefox will delete bookmarks etc for ALL installed versions of firefox.
Firefox attempts to retain the profile information, that include bookmarks etc when updating. It may still be prudent to consider other backup methods not entirely dependent on firefox.
The firefox 4 beta will install by default in a slightly different location, you are then able to run either the current or the beta version of firefox. It is recommended you set up a new profile for the new version of firefox. see
