I would like to set up an older iPad with a new messages account so it can be used by my kids. I don't, however, want to lose the apps or music that are on the iPad. Can I change only the Messages "account"?

Thanks. I had tried that, but was still having problems. Then I realized that I was using three addresses on both devices. Once I changed it to only one email on one iPad and a different email on the other, it worked great. Your message encouraged me to dig deeper and think differently. It worked. Thanks again!

The following peocess corrects the calendar entry:
edit the contact & change the birthday, save the change; edit the contact & change the birthday to the correct value, save the change again. The calendar entry then displays on the correct date. Alternatively as a temp solution I can just de-select the "birthdays" calendar which stops the icon being displayed.
Thanks for your advice, I think that it's n going to be a slow process to fix all the entries for not much return.

My question is the my daughter has an ipod touch with alot of music and games on it, but the computer that had itunes in it and all the apps and music is now gone. How can I transfer all her games and music her new computer without loosing her stuff?

She is worried if she connects it to her new computer all will be lost. Is there anyway for this to not happen? The ipod is on its last life due to a cracked screen, and as for the games she has spent money on them such as smurf village and others. When i looked at game center on my phone about less than half of that game showed up. Is there anyway to fix these things before its to late and eveything is gone forever?

Well I forget the exact keys, but believe pressing and holding down CTRL before clicking Restore will allow you to browse and find the backup file (may be wrong).
In the end, as far as the iPhone thinks, it is a new computer so it will erase and resync stuff and as long as you loaded everything back into iTunes all should sync back. Main issue is other stuff like the data within the apps, notes, etc that are part of the backup which is why you would want to try to restore from the backup. If you don't mind losing data in apps (eg: do you care you have to relog into some apps and start over, don't care about game scores, etc) then you don't have to worry about the backup. If you have important data in some of those apps then you will need to restore from the backup.

now i need to find what are the Synonyms and views that are accessing through db_link either directly or indirectly..

On the second database (B) use this query to find the SQL which used by the schema A (DB LINK USER). Check the SQL_FULLTEXT column.

If you can't remember the Passcode, you need to restore the device from the computer it was last synced with.

If you are a resident of the U.S., have iTunes 10.3 or later installed, and iOS 4.3.3 or later, can re download iTunes purchases for free.
So retore the iPod, then re download the iTunes media.

You can ONLY use the itunes store of your country of residence.
You cannot use another countrys itunes store.

Looking for an information management solution. I have three boys that have brand new ipad mini's. I would like to set them up to manage information the easiest way.
My first thought was to use my apple ID for their apps and purchases. This would give me the advantage of seeing everything downloaded and be able to monitor this closely. The disadvantage to me, was that they would see all of my contracts, my apps, and my music.
My other thought was to create one new apple ID and to share that among the three boys. This way I would not have to worry about my information being on their ipads.
This is a very confusing situation for me. My goal is seperate my stuff from my kids stuff. Appreicate input from anyone who has in-depth experience with this as it applies to apple ID, icloud ID, and any detailed explaination of how to do this would be appreiciated. Thanks.

I think I will do this. I will use my apple ID and set face time and message to work independently. That solves one problrem. My other problem and maybe my bigger problem is that if I am using my apple ID, how do I iflter all of this so that my kids don't see my contacts, get my apps, etc. ?

Plug it into your computer. Tell it to sync with "this computer" instead of iCloud. You shouldn't have to remove any apps. Otherwise, you can save the app data by using i-FunBox ( http://www.i-funbox.com/ ) just go to the "devices" tab and select 'user applications' and select all of your apps and tell iFunBox to "copy to pc" you're done! You have them all backed up.

If anyone in your household has an Apple ID, try authorizing the computer with their Apple ID and attempt to sync. Why would you make a new account? This will likely cause many problems. Just get you old account enabled.

Everything you purchased with the old account will always be tied to that account. You will have to authorize the computer for that account and you will have to update the apps from that account.
