I would like to uninstall iPhoto completely; MBP 2010, Yosemite
Hey guys. Noob here; please forgive.
I'm at the point where I can't deal with the excess photos that iPhoto is creating. It's only going to get worse as I approach 17,000 photos. I've been using iPhoto and Lightroom, but I just don't want to deal with iPhoto anymore.
Can someone chime in on procedure and/or pitfalls of said action? Is it as easy as importing the library in Lightroom; trashing iPhoto, then deleting all the duplicates?

iPhoto and Lightroom are both applications to maintain an iPhoto Library. You should not be using them at he same time. That will indeed duplicate your photos in two separate photo libraries. Pick one application and stay with it.

17000 photos is still a moderately sized iPhoto library.
Which "access photos" are you referring to? iPhoto is not creating duplicates. It stores your original photos to maintain a lossless workflow, and it will render any edited photos from these original photos, so will always be able to get the best possible edited version. In addition it will precompute thumbnails and previews of the edited versions to speed up browsing. None of these previews and thumbnails are duplicates.
To migrate to Lightroom export the original photos from iPhoto with "File > Export". If you have edited versions, export the edited versions as well, then import those photos to lighroom.
You cannot directly import an iPhoto library to Lightroom. There is no need to trash the iPhoto application.

Hi Can anyone please tell me from where I can download the Photoshop CS6 program I purchased a download (media less) some 2 years ago and all has been OK up to know but I am know having issues and would like to uninstall and reinstall. Make sure you are dealing with the correct product for the serial number. If the serial number is for a full creative suite then you need to get the suite, not the individual application, and vice versa.
Unrelated to that, in case it helps, here is a link to another site. You can download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site and have cookies enabled in your browser or else the download will not work properly.

You could always remove/disable the Persona that you don't want. Go to Add-ons > Appearance, and then just disable/remove the offending Persona.
Though, if you really want to save your bookmarks:
Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Which will open the Library > Look for Import and Backup > Backup...> and it will prompt to you save the file somewhere. To add them back into Firefox, go back to the library > Import and Backup again > Restore > Choose File... > and then open the file you saved earlier. -

Hello, I purchased Adobe as a download a few years ago and installed in on a Mac Pro. I would like to uninstall it on that mac and install it on a new Mac Pro. Any idea how I can do that?
Just download, install, and activate using your serial number. You are allowed to have the software installed and activated on two machines. If you do not wish to retain the original installation as a backup you can deactivate it by opening one of the programs and choosing Help -> Deactivate.

Strictly from the point of view of removing a version no longer wanted on a computer, Deactivate and then Uninstall which are not the same
a. In an opened project, Help Menu/Deactivate or Help Menu/Sign Out (depends on version)
b. Then uninstalling from the computer the usual Control Panel way (assumes Windows).

I have downloaded MAMP for Mac and want to use it for working with Wordpress. I'm on an Imac with Maverick OS 10.9. I had mysql installed before this and would like to uninstall it and use MAMP. It was easy to turn off Apache and PHP but don't know how to uninstall mysql. Please help!!
It depends on how you installed it. You have to shutdown the MySQL service first. If you used the standard, but obsolete Startup Item, you can do that with the Startup Item. If you created a launchd script, you can do it with launchctl. Once MySQL is no longer running, you can delete the Startup Item or launchd script and the rest of MySQL.

You are allowed to have two activated installations, so if you prefer to you can keep ut on the current machine and just install it on the new one like you did originally. If you wish to eliminate it on the other machine, the first thing to do is to deactivate it by opening a program in the suite and selecting Help -> Deactivate in the top toolbar. That is all you need to do to disable the software. At this point if you prefer to you can uninstall it if you like.
As far as getting it on the new nmachine, as I just indicated, just install it like you did the first time. -
I have CS2, CS4 and CC, and I would like to uninstall CC2 programs. I don't see an icon to click on to do that. How do I uninstall those programs? Can I just drag them to the trash?

Can you please describe what happens when you try to install Skype? I've found one common issue people have is that they don't actually fully install it - a lot of people download it, open the downloaded image, and run it from there - and dont actually ever copy it to their Applications folder, so next time they look for it, it can't be opened. Try again from scratch - go to the Skype website, download the file, if it doesn't automatically display the Skype disk image on your Desktop, go to your Downloads folder, locate the Skype download and double-click it to open, then, open a new Finder window and drag the Skype application from inside the disk image to your Applications folder. Once that's done you can trash the disk image. Go to your Applications folder, find Skype and launch it. Let me know if you get stuck.
As John says, it would be very helpful to know exactly which Mac you have. If its a laptop, you probably have a MacBook Pro, not a Mac Pro, which is a very large, heavy silver box and not amenable to being dragged around Australia!

My Roboform works fine in IE, but no longer works with Firefox version 4. I would like to go back the Firefox 3 because I do not wish to upgrade to Roboform 7. Its not free.
