I would like to use a Sprint iPhone 5c on Verizon, ESN is clean
I have a 5s on Verizon, but would also like to buy a 5c and use it too, using the same SIM card I'm using now.

Not for the general public...in the four or five years since the Verizon iPhone 4 came out I cannot recall a single user saying they had success getting the iPhone refreshed. Before buying, talk with Verizon, see what they say, talk with Sprint, see what they say about authorizing the flashing. Since the iPhone is locked to Sprint, the authorization to unlock, i.e., flash is solely up to them. Apple will not get involved, Verizon will not help unless Sprint authorizes it. These are all contract-legal matters.

Sprint said that the phones will be shut down once they deactivate our accounts.

Sprint is a CDMA carrier. You can't take a Sprint (or Verizon) iPhone to another carrier. The SIM slot can be unlocked for International travel, but that's it. Without Sprint service, it's an iPod. Nothing more.
For what it's worth, that is not what Verizon said when I asked them this very question. According to the Global Support Team, once the Verizon phone is unlocked, it will continue to be unlocked and will continue to work on GSM networks outside of the U.S. even if the Verizon service is discontinued. I have no way of testing this as I do not plan on discontinuing my Verizon service at any time in the near future. I realize this is not useful information for the OP but it might be of interest to someone. -

Hi - I need help. I would like to use my old iPhone 3 as an iPod for music only. Problem is that my phone is locked with a password I can't remember. I havent used the phone since I got my iPhone 4. Anyone who know how I can reset the phone to standard installation or just get acces to the phone. There is no SIM card in the phone.

Thanks for your prompt response, however I have first seen it now. I have placed an active SIM card in the iPhone turned it off and on. It now says SIM locked, please write access code. The problem is I don't remember the password. When I connect it to iTunes it tell me that I have to write the password before it can be used with iTunes...... Do you have any good ideas? I have an iPhone 4s that is my primary phone that I sync with iTunes on my computer. I would like to use my old iPhone 3s like an iPod. Can I also sync this phone to the same computer and iTunes? My ultimate goal would be to have identical iTunes on both phones. Is this possible?

Hi I want to use my iPhone 5 from Sprint on Verizon's 4G LTE I have a service with Verizon already and I want to use my iPhone 5 on that carrier instead, I'm afraid though because I want to use the 4G services with Verizon and I was wondering if Sprint's 4G has a different 4G chip in it please help!

I would like to use my IPhone with a simcard of a foreign country telephone company.
I presently use my phone in the USA with an AT&T account. I live part of the time in South America. I would like to use the same IPhone while in South America with my account I have with "Tigo" (a wireless telephone provider). Tigo has a license to operate with IPhone, but I don't want to buy another phone from them. Tigo says that they could reconfigure my phone to use with the local sim card, but I do not know if I would be able to use the phone again with AT&T when I am back in the USA. Have you had any experience about this situation?
What may be available in Paraguay is irrelevant. Again, if you purchased a US iPhone, it is locked to AT&T and cannot be officially unlocked for use with another carrier. No carrier can unlock a phone tied to another carrier, so Tigo can do nothing for you in the matter, and AT&T, as I said, will not unlock an iPhone for any reason.
Only if you have purchased an unlocked phone from some other country where either factory-unlocked iPhones are sold or the carrier to which the iPhone was unlocked had unlocked it would you be able to use your iPhone in Paraguay or elsewhere. Such iPhones are not available from any authorized iPhone vendor in the US.

Contact Sprint. They are the only ones that can authorize an unlock. No one else can. If they refuse to unlock, there is nothing you can do but sell the device and get another phone.

You won't be able to use cell data anymore you will have to connect it to WiFi. If it is not working at all leave the SIM in the phone and Restore it in iTunes.

My daughter is currently using my Apple ID with her ipod touch. I will be upgrading her to an iPhone 4S and would like to use a different Apple ID and a new computer and still keep all the current music and Apps that she has now. How do I do this?
Make a new Apple ID for her.
Use it on her iPhone 4S for iCloud, iMessage and FaceTime.
Use your ID on her iPhone 4S for iTunes and App Stores.
Sign in with your Apple ID on iTunes Store (on iTunes app of her new computer)
Authorize her new computer with your Apple ID in iTunes (iTunes menu>Store>Authorize this Computer)
Check "Share my Library on my Local Network" in iTunes Preferences in your and her computer
Sign in Home Sharing of her iTunes with your Apple ID.
Copy all the Music she wants from the old computer to the new one. (Must be on the same network)
Copy all the apps she wants from the old computer to the new one. (Must be on the same network)
Export all playlist as xml files from the old computer to the new one.(right click on the playlist to export and "File>Library>Import Playlist to Import)
Sync her iPhone 4S with all content she wants from her new computer (all data from the old computer will be deleted)
Are you sharing Contacts or other data from iCloud?
Be careful or ask for help about moving from iCloud account to another one. -
I have an old iphone and have a new one as well. I would like to use my old on as an ipod but itunes not longer recognizes it. Any ideas? I have been using it for a month with no problems until tonight. I restarted my computer..still no fix.
Looks like its fixed. I am syncing it now. A lot of the answers are for the new iphone so i had to mess with a bunch of settings as well. My old phone is now an 8 gig ipod. the books app no longer works and that *****.....but better than nothing...

I would like to use my work exchange email on my macbook pro. But I cannot install it. I have no problem my work email on my iPhone or iPad. My work IT person does not know what is wrong. Why I try to set up the email I get the message that it cannot connect to this server.
Try going into System Prefereces then Mail, Cintacts & Calendars then click on the Microsoft Exchange link on the right. Type in your email address and password and allow it to set it up automatically.
Make sure your Mac is updated to the newest version of Mail.
If that still fails then I suggest you switch email clients. I don't care for the built in mail program. IMHO it is very buggy. -
My mac mini is not updating its software to OSX Lion v10.7.5, which I need for iCloud. I would like to use iCloud on my desktop along with my iphone and ipad but the auto updates are only upto 10.6.8.
You need to get the newer version from the Mac App Store.
