I would love an App for the iPad that would let me (us)...

Open, Read and Edit Keychains created on my iMac or at least work across i platforms. That way I would have all my information, passwords, etc in one place. There are lots of Apps that will let you store info securely on your iPad but I want cross platform ability.
How about it App Developers? I think their's a market untouched by anyone as yet.
Dave (to busy to write it myself)

Dropbox & Evernote work as a place to store data fairly securley as does a locked sortable Excel Database file. The problem with non-resident native appsor files is they are more apt to be bridged or penetrated than those on a locked & protected file on a local protected computer like my iPad or iMac. Plus it would just be nice if Keychains worked on all of Apples platforms. You would only have to enter it in one place if we had a Resident Native Apple App like Keychains. I put all my data in it years ago and have over 200 entries to transfer. Just wishing for a better more secure accessible at anytime & place native app like Keychains to operate across the whole platform. I want my info on my iMac synced to all my info on my iPad. I have photos of my motorcycle, VIN number and license plate in my database. I do the same for my guns, car, TV, computer, iPad, front & back of credit cards, social security number, yahtta, yahtta.
That way if I need any information it is at my fingertips literally since I seldom let my iPad 2 out of my hand except when driving. LOL I don't even store or keep my personal keychain on my iMac instead I put it on a tiny encrypted flash-drive-type-of-device used by the FBI and CIA for transport sensitive data. It connects to my iPad via a special adaptor. I can lay it on my desk at work and people have no clue what is is and never even give it a second thought.

  • Is there a DJ app for the Ipad that will read the "start" and "stop time" setting for each individual song, as they are set in the song Options screen in Itunes?

Is there a DJ app for the Ipad that will read the "start" and "stop time" setting for each individual song, as they are set in the song Options screen in Itunes? The Ipod Touch, by itself does not allow cross-fading, therefore when the stop time is edited short, the song jusst truncates then goes to the next song. I tried the DJay ap and while it would crossfade, it would NOT read the song settings for the stop marker. So now I want to try and Ipad and see if there is an app that will READ the Itune stop settings within the song. I do NOT want an app that will allow me to DO the stop marker. I want an app that will READ the stop marker from the song as it is set in Itunes.

Itunes provides the option for setting the Start and Stop times of each music track.  However, the start and stop times do not synchronize to the iPhone.  I don't understand why this option is even available as it doesn't work when listening to music on the phone.  I have not found another application that will support the start and stop time markets.  I have searched quite a bit for this but can't find anything.  I hope we can find something.

  • Is there an app for the ipad that will allow you to access your mac.

Is there an app for the ipad that will allow you to access your mac via wifi or cell network.

Yep, two of the most popular apps are "LogMeIn Ignition" and "iTeleport." Check them out, they'll both set you back by about 30$ though.

There is no mobile data connection required to use GPS on land or sea. Once again your issue is the availability of downloadable maps/charts for the areas you will be traveling.
Sorry, but you can't install an app like NAVIGON on an iPad without 3G cellular data connection:
    copied from NAVIGON app:
...can be installed on any iPhone3GS, iPhone4, iPhone4S, iPhone5 or iPad device (the navigation function is only available on the iPad WiFi+3G)
Can I navigate with my mobile phone?
Answer:In principle yes. For mobile phones there are both Onboardnavigation solutions and Offboardnavigation solutions.
The following requirements must be fulfilled:
    •     The software must support the mobile phone. NAVIGON software
always comes with a compatibility list. The software is guaranteed
to work only for the mobile phones on this list.
    •     The mobile phone must have a GPS receiver. Many new mobile
phones come with a built-in GPS receiver. Otherwise you can use
an external GPS receiver which is connected to the mobile phone
           by cable or Bluetooth.
    •     It should be noted that an offboard solution incurs costs for using
the mobile phone network to communicate with the provider's server.

  • Is there an app for the iPad that is similar to android's swype program?

Is there an app for the iPad2 that is similar to Android's swype program?

You're right, thanks. Nuance seems to be doing this for a number of apps; Noterize similarly has been removed after being purchased by Nuance. Time will tell where they go with all the technology they've purchased.
    Regards.

  • Is there an app for the ipad that will put it to sleep on inactivity only when it is not plugged in?

I know that native IOS does not support different setting for inactivity sleep depending on the ipad being plugged in.  Does any one know if there is an app that will do this?  I would like to keep it from going to sleep when it is plugged in but to go to sleep on inactivity when it is not.

No. You would need to manually reset the autolock when you plug it in to do that.

  • Is there a app for the ipad that lets you weight packets

something that is free or is under 5.00 dollars

Are you talking about packets to be sent by mail and you need to weigh them, or internet packets and their sizes/quantities?  I can't see how an iOS device can possibly weigh something, but try doing a search in the itunes app store.

  • App for the iPad to show photo description?

Is there an App for the iPad that will let you add a brief description to the photo and have it displayed on the iPad?  I have done an unsuccessful search to find an answer to this.

For me the question is not whether I can export descriptions etc added with Photo Shack, but whether it can get the ones I have added in iPhoto on the Mac.  All my work is done on the Mac, and I only want to ust the iPad and iPhone to show the photos, with descriptions.
Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

  • Anyone know if there will be a Garageband app for the ipad?

I'd buy one today if I could use it with Garageband. The flexibility of being able to take it anywhere and record/edit tracks, considering it's size and the excellent screen, would make it worth the money to me.
Just wondering if anyone has seen/heard anything about such an app. There would have to be a way to use the USB port as an input, but other than that, you could save the files the your mac but be able to move it around so easily...would be great.

Apple has not announced GarageBand for the iPad nor anything similar but that doesn't mean that they won't release something in the future. Meanwhile, there are companies like Sonoma WireWorks and Krasidy that are already producing multitrack recording apps for the iPad or iPhone. Sonoma has a version specifically for the iPad, so that might be worth checking out.
I haven't seen anything that uses the Dock connector to expand the input capabilities, but there may be something out there, or the new SDK may allow such a thing in the future.
    Regards.

    Hi mafiose15,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Restoring your iPod to factory settings is the best way to try and get it back to working order. You can use the instructions below to restore it:
    How to restore iPod
Verify that you have an active Internet connection, because you may need to download new versions of the iTunes and iPod Software.
Download and install the latest version of iTunes if necessary.
Open iTunes. Connect your iPod to your computer using the USB or FireWire cable that came with your iPod.
After a few moments, your iPod will appear in the Source panel in iTunes.
Select your iPod in the Source panel. You will see information about your iPod appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes window.
    Click Restore.
If you are using a Mac, you will be asked to enter an administrator’s name and password.
A progress bar will appear on the computer screen, indicating that stage one of the restore process has begun. When this stage is done, iTunes will present one of two messages with instructions specific to the iPod model you are restoring.
Disconnect iPod and connect it to iPod Power Adapter (typically applies to older iPod models).
Leave iPod connected to computer to complete restore (typically applies newer iPod models).
During stage two of the restore process, the iPod displays an Apple logo as well as a progress bar at the bottom of the display. It is critical that the iPod remain connected to the computer or iPod power adapter during this stage.
Note: The progress bar may be difficult to see, because the backlight on the iPod display may be off.
After stage two of the restore process is complete, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear. It will ask you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences, as it did when you connected your iPod for the first time.
You can find the instructions in this article:

    All the best,
    Jeremy

  • Is there an app on the iPad that resembles Microsoft Office?  I need it for school.  If there is please let me know.  Thanks  :-)

Is there an app on the iPad that resembles Microsoft Office?  I need it for school.

The basic apple equivalent to ms office is called i works, which has three components.  Pages is word, numbers is xl, and keynote is powerpoint.  There are many subtle differences, but the are more or less functionaly equivalent.
There are also a number of third part apps available to replicate office functions, such as good reader, docs to go, and my favorite, quick office.     Read the reviews in the app store and pick the one that will do what you need.
You will also get some other suggestions here.

    HI Chris,
Thanks for taking the time to reply.
Could you expand on your answer, which bit is very doubtful?
Also in your knowledge would Apple work with a company and license it if the software they were developing was desired by consumer demand?
    Thanks

  • What is the best and easiest print app for the iPad and iPhone?

What is the best and easiest print app for the iPad?

    Richard-
The best and easiest is to use the iPad's built-in AirPrint system with an AirPrint-capable printer.  <iOS: AirPrint 101>
If you do not have an AirPrint-capable printer, all printing Apps are a compromise.  I have an HP non-AirPrint printer connected to my WiFi router.  The free HP App, ePrint Home & Biz works OK with photos.
Print n Share and PrintCentral each have their own browser, mail, text and photo programs that work well with the printer, but they can only be accessed from within other programs that have the "Open In" option.  (So far, I think GoodReader is the only App I have with that option.)
You can run a program like Printopia or FingerPrint on your computer that will share its printer as AirPrint over WiFi.  They both are reported to work well.  However your computer must be on and awake any time you want to print.  <Printopia for Macintosh>  <FingerPrint for PC and Mac>
