I would love to put external links in the glossary

does any one have an idea if this can be done?

I find no way to make an active link using text in the Glossary and Apple would seem to have decided its not going to be an option.

You can use the "Create Anonymous Link" option in Adobe Send to create a link to your PDF, which you can ten include in your newsletter. Please follow these steps:
Log in to https://cloud.acrobat.com/send (if you don't already have an Acrobat.com account, you can sign up at the same link).
Click Select Files to Send.
Navigate to the PDF file that you want to link to, select it, and then click Choose.
Select Create Anonymous Link, and then click Create.
Copy the link and paste it into your newsletter.

Would love to be able to change the Standby settings.

I would love to be able to change the Standby settings on my itouch. Particularly when I have my itouch plugged into a charging unit or computer. I would like the standby to not turn off my itouch screen when it has external power. Is there a way to do this?

Well, hopefully a developer can help and update the device to allow us to do just that. Perhaps one can tell us if they might consider working on just such an option. I mean seriously, if it's plugged in I want an option as to whether the screen should go off or not on me. I don't think it's an unreasonable request and it's probably not that hard to implement. I'm not a developer however, so how should I know.
Sorry for not referring to the device correctly (Julian), but I don't really care what it's called. I just want it to work better. I did however refer to it closely enough that you knew what I was talking about.

I did as you recommended and installed HTTPWatch and below is the outcome of that program. It is the exact string with the only exception of obfuscated servernames and portnumbers. The last part that begins with "sap_ep_baseurl=" makes me suspicious, is that part really correct? It looks like it's lacking things.

How can I remove the eleven external links at the foot of the opening screen?

There are elevn external links at the foot of the startup screen. Some of these are to gaming or gambling sites and some are 'advertisments' for madasafish, my ISP. How can I get rid of these?

You can disable some browser.taskbar.*enable prefs on the about:config page.
To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page. 
*Use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
*Preferences that have been modified show as bold(user set).
*Preferences can be reset to the default or changed via the right-click context menu.

How do I configure safari to open external links in the existing window

The current version of Safari (8.02) always opens an external link (such as from Mail) in a new tab. I would like to configure so that it loads the link in the existing open tab (window). Is there a way to do that? If so can some one tell me how to do that?

Linc: I have seen that configuration page and none of those options allows you to configure Safari so that it will load an external link in an already open tab or window. I have looked in two different reference books on OS X (Mavericks not Yosemite) and not found any relevant information in their discussions of Safari.

Opening external links in the most recently used page

I'm having an issue where external links from Mail or elsewhere are always opening up in the oldest page, IE, the page that was opened first, rather than the most recently used page.
Normally, this isn't that big of a deal, except when the oldest page is minimized, and every time I open a new link, Safari open up that minimized page to load in a new tab.
Is there any way I can fix this?

You can't COMPLETELY remove it, but you can reduce it to one (1) item. Under Preferences>Documents
1 is the minimum and 10 is the maximum. Hard coded, no way to expand or reduce these limits.
The ONLY other option is to disable the "welcome screen" altogether under Preferences>General

I would love it if this was in the options menu....

I'm sorry if this isnt the right place to say this but I would love it if the Permissions Manager was in the Options menu, i wrote a bug a couple of weeks ago for this to be added and it isnt going so well, overall it has been a pain to try to get this in as i have posted on Mozilla Input multiple times for a couple of months. At this time, with Australis coming to Firefox 25 in October, it may not be the best time to propose new menu items; the developers are very busy ruining Firefox for everyone but ''noobs'' and mobile device users. Plus, Mozilla is continuing the process of reducing the number of (or eliminating) modal dialog boxes in favor of displaying "Firefox information" in "tabs", so IMO it would make more sense to access "information" like that thru the "about" interface.
If you play around in '''about:preferences''' a bit, you'll see all the Options modal dialog windows converted to "tabs", just waiting for the possibility of the elimination of the Options menu item at some point in the future.

Hey just wanted to know what is the reason i would connect my external hardrive to the extreme and what is the difference between LAN and WAN ehternet. I know one is local and other is wide but can someone explain in simpler terms.

Connecting a hard drive to the Airport Extreme makes it available to be shared across all the computers on your network.
WAN (Wide Area Network) is your connection to the internet
LAN (Local Area Network) is your internal (or local) ethernet connections (computers, printers, etc...)

Can you put multiple links over the same button and have it still change states?

I have a photoshop button that changes from an active state ('TRAVEL' in a box) to a rollover state ('JAPAN, PHILIPINNES, KOREA, INDIA' in a gridded box). The 4 location names should be linked to seperate galleries. I want to find a way to do that. I tried placing clear rectangles over the areas, and then linking the rectangles, but it prevents the rollover state from being activated. Is there a way to do this?

You should be able to do what you want with the Tooltip Composition Widget.

Good Morning!
I need help! I am trying to write a code for dreamweaver, so
that anybody who clicks on an external link gets a pop up message
with the option to continue or cancel. I have a behavior on click
for each individual external link, however, I would love to do a
code and put it on the template so that everytime I add an external
link to the site, I dont have to worry about remembering to add the
behavior!
Please help, :) I am still a new web designer and I am
learning.

You may find this script useful. It opens all off-site links
in a new
window (auto) or you can set it so that visitors decide
whether or not to
open links in a new window (manual).

Hi guys
I`m trying to create a sort of social networking site and i
want its members to be able to add an image, and to save space
would like them to upload the image to a free image host and then

TREX - Indexing external links' metadata, but not content

Hi All,
I have a number of external links in the CM repository and would like to include them into the search results.
However during indexing, all external links fail pre-processing because I believe it is trying to get the content of the link but it does not have authorisation.
Is there a way to just index the metadata and ignore the content?

I saw that there was host specified with
http://<%hostname%>. So i thought it should work. I tried editing this value and give the host name.
For example my portal address is
http://portal.company.com:50000
so i gave the address
http://portal in my host parameters.
This is still not working. Should i change the parameter to something else??

External Linking Problems

heres the problem, i've embedded a flash movie into a webpage
using a java script, i have one external link within the movie and
i also have 5 internal links, all off the internal ones work
fine... the external link works when i just open the .swf file on
its own but when i use it within the webpage it doesnt do anything,
and the others still work fine.. im guessing its something to do
with the java scriipt??? if anyone could help that would be
great..

Now, in my case, there are chances that an external link with same name already residing in same folder. In this case I want my method to overwrite existing external link with the new one.
How to do it?
