I wrote a document in Pages on my iPad 2 and it has disappeared.

I wrote a paper in Pages on my iPad 2 and it simply disappeared. I did not email, share it, export it, or anything, just left it there believing it to be saved. I really need this document back and I don't understand why it just disappeared. If anyone could help me I would really appreciate it. It is really unacceptable fr me to lose this document and I don't know how to prevent it in the future. Thank you.

I am sharing another thread with you where this issue has arisen previously. Take note of the very last post from paul2104. Read how he recovered his Pages files. There is something really weird going on with Pages on the iPad. I am having problems with file sharing and importing and exporting edited files from my iPad to my Mac. I don't know if this will be of any use, but you can read it for yourself.

    Hello:
Export the Pages file to your desktop as a PDF (or Word) file.  Then attach it to your E-mail.

THis is safe for Mac's? Sorry, I have just never heard of this site before.
And there are literally tens of thousands of sites of which I've not heard, too. Not this one.
It's legit. There are lots of links in Apple Support Communities to the LibreOffice web site, as well as others that are legitimate open-source developers of options to buying MS Office, such as NeoOffice and OpenOffice. I have Open Office installed on one of my older Macs that can't run Office 2011 and it is rock-solid.
I've been here too long to start posting bogus urls now.

  • Is there any way to insert a pop up calender and tick boxes into pages on the ipad? And if not if I do it on a mac will the document work on pages on the ipad?

Is there any way to insert a pop up calender and tick boxes into pages on the ipad? And if not if I do it on a mac will the document work on pages on the ipad? I'm trying to set up a document with quick check boxes to tick and a date to choose rather than type? I know it possible to do it on pages on a mac but i haven't been able to find anything on the ipad to create such a thing, and I don't know if it will work on the ipad if I create it on the mac

    RGA,
Unfortunately, I do not believe that it is possible for a DAQ board to generate an AI Start Trigger from an analog trigger, but not be triggered itself until it receives a digital trigger.

Just thought I'd add my solution, I decided to go with WebDAV and I think it actually works better than the iTunes way, the steps are pretty much the same but avoiding the iTunes interface just makes things easier and faster.
I followed this guide but it does have a small mistake in the httpd-dav.conf file, on line 2, where it's WebServer/WebDAV">, it should be <Directory "/Library/WebServer/WebDAV">.
The tricky part is setting permissions which if wrong will give you errors when connecting with the iPad, I opted to set all to Read&Write since my home network has a hardware firewall. Another convenience was to add an alias to the webdav share on the Desktop.
I'm still expecting the call from Apple but even if they fix the iTunes I'm sticking with WebDAV, atleast until I see what's new with iOS5 and iCloud this fall which should bring true sync for documents (I'm hoping that they will offer encryption with my own keys, if not, then I'll probably keep using WebDAV).

  • How do I copy a document from pages into email (not pdf) and have color and format the same as the document created in pages?

How do I copy an entire document from pages into email (not pdf) and have color and format the same as the document created in pages?

Pages ’09 v4.3 and Pages v5.2.2 are entirely different document architectures. Consequently, copying and pasting a table from Pages ’09 circumvents the customary translation process  that would occur if you opened that Pages ’09 document in Pages v5.
Make a backup copy of the Pages ’09 document that has the table in it, and then open this document in Pages v5.2.2. The table is translated into Pages v5 document format and displayed correctly. You can even select this Pages v5.2.2 table, and then copy/paste it into another Pages v5.2.2 document with accurate results.

  • Arrange documents in pages on imac (ipad works but i mac not)

hey. I can arrange my documents in pages on my iPad and the sync works just fine with my iMac. but i cannot rearrange documents into folders on my iMac. does anyone know how to solve that?

Create folders and drag the files there in Finder or save to the new location.
    As for any other document.

You can restore from iTune or iCloud backup if you have one.

  • I have been trying to email a document from pages on my iPad in PDF it seems to do everything but when I go into my sent email file it is not there and recipient hasn't received it

I Have been trying to email a document from pages on my iPad in PDF format.  i go through all the steps and it seems to send it but the recipient doesn't receive it. Anyone know what I am doing wrong?

    Possibly.
You could test that by dropping a largish image into a test Pages document and duplicating it until your document won't send.
Some eMail clients have ceiling levels for file sizes, as do some receiving servers.
Also test to see if you can simply export your file to pdf, in which case it will be retained on your iPad. That would be a first step.

  • I'm trying to submit a document from pages to a URL address and it keeps giving me the option to load pictures or take a new picture, how do I change this?

I'm trying to submit a document from pages to a URL address and it keeps giving me the option to load pictures or take a new picture, how do I change this?

If mean by way of Safari, that is correct. Only content of the Camera or Photos apps are available. you will need to find an alternate app such as iCab Mobile for uploading documents to a website.

  • I created a document in Pages on my ipad and now it won't open up. How can I fix this?

I created a document on my Ipad and when I finished it, I closed Pages. When I went to re-open Pages and see the document it wouldn't open. I click on the document and it shows the processing symbol but then the entire program closes. All of the other documents within pages open up fine, just not this one. Any help?

Try resetting your iPad.  Hold the on/off and home buttons together for 7 or 8 seconds till the Apple logo appears.
I'm assuming your default is to save Pages documents to iCloud, and that you had a good WiFi connection when you closed Pages the last time you tried to save the document.

  • Is there a way to format the background of a document in Pages on my iPad

I am wondering if there is a way, using Pages on the iPad, to format background color.  I have a document that I want to use a dark blue background on with white fonts over.  I can do it in Microsoft Word but it looses the background when it comes into Pages as well.
    Thanks!

To change the document background color in Pages for iOS do the following:
    1. Tap the Tools Menu (wrench) > Document Setup
    2. In the Document Setup view tap the Insert Menu ("+") in upper right and select a colored rectangle
    3. Position the colored rectangle to cover the entire page
    4. With the rectangle selected, tap the Styles Menu (brush) > Styles  to select a style of rectangle and any options such as color.
Note: You can also apply an image to the background in a similar manner using the media tab of the Insert Menu - adjust the opacity using the Style Menu > Styles > Style Options.
    5. When done,  tap Done to return to your document.
    Good Luck.

  • Why can't I create a new landscape document in Pages on the ipad?

I can create a keynote landscape page on my iPad. I can create a landscape pages document on my Mac, email to myself, open on the iPad and it is there, yet I cannot create a new landscape document on my ipad, this is crazy?

    Sheila,
I'm using Version 9.0p230. Windows OS.
Yes, the COMMANDS pop up does not pop up!
Yes, I rebooted but I had the same problem. I ended up entering a new name directly in the Character tag field from the Designer and was able to create it that way. Thanks

  • How do I transfer a document from Pages on my iPad to Word on my laptop?

I want to get the app but I want to know how to view one document in both Pages and Word.

There are several ways to get the document to your Mac. If you use iCloud with Pages, you can download the document from iCloud.com on the Mac even if you are running less than Mountain Lion. I have an older iMac at work running Tiger 10.4.11 and I can access my Pages files in the cloud. You can email the file or you can use file sharing in with iTunes as well.
If you are using Word, you will have to convert the file to Word format first. With the document open in Pages on the iPad, you tap on the wrench icon in the upper right, and then select Share and Print. In the next window select either Email or copy to iTunes (if using file sharing). Then you will get the option in which format you want to send the file, Pages, Word or PDF. Select Word, the file will be converted and then go from there.
You can also send the file to DropBox in the latest version of Pages for iOS.

  • Wrote over document in pages

I saved over an important document in iWorks Pages last night that I need to recover. The issue is that the backup feature in Pages was not enabled. There has to be a way that this file can be found on my mac.

If you closed and deleted the Pages version, you can open the pdf in Preview.app and copy paste the text across to a new Pages document. This time save it at least once.
