I18n.jar missing in J2SDK 1.4.0 beta3 for Windows

I have installed J2SDK 1.4.0 beta3 on a WinNT system. The jre\lib folder does not contain the file i18n.jar
Also, I have tried to install J2RE 1.4.0 beta3 on a WinNT system. The i18n.jar is missing there too.
The Java 2 SDK File Structure shows the file included in the jre/lib folder.
I have Java 1.2 and 1.3 also installed on the same system.
Can someone please tell me why this file is missing in my installation?

It's not missing, they removed it. Most of the classes that were in i18n.jar are now in other jars such as charsets.jar.

Where is i18n.jar in J2sdk1.4.1 ?

In j2sdk1.3 version, "i18n.jar" used to be in /lib directory. However i found this jar file missing in j2sdk1.4.2 version. Is it replaced by other jar file ?
I couldn't find any information relating to this in SUN release notes. Can anyone help me on this ?

I am using the old verion of generic java which requires i18n.jar. This jar file was in 1.3 but not in 1.4, can any one give me some idea what this jar file does. Thanks a lot.

I18n.jar still necessary?

A couple of years ago when I set up Jrun I discovered with the forum's help that I had to download i18n.jar separately to solve some internationalisation problems because it wasn't included in the SDK of the time.
I now have the latest 1.4 SDK and was wondering if anyone can tell me if i18n.jar is still a separate download. And if so where is the newest version?

Reading the documentation a little closer, I think you will see that there are two tables for the extended charset
1 - Supported by java.nio, java.io and java.lang APIs
2 - Supported by java.io and java.lang APIs
CP850 is mentioned in the latter of them - ie it is not supported by java.nio package
Your exception is coming from the java.nio package.
I don't know enough to specify a workaround except
- use a different charset
- don't use java.nio
Any other suggestions?

BRMS jar missing for WS

Hi experts.
I didn't find a problem similar to mine in the forum, so I'm posting a new thread. I have a simple rule project in NWDS, I referenced BRMS FACADE as its dependency according to a guide. I'm trying to generate a WS of this rule using the WS generator. I'm getting the below error from the WS generator:
java.io.IOException: Library Required for WS Compilation - C:\Documents and Sett
ings\A55587\workspace.jdi\LocalDevelopment\BRMS-FACADE\sap.com\tc\brms\facade\_c
omp\gen\default\public\api\lib\java\tcbrmscore~filtered.jar does not exist
I checked the directory for the BRMS jar files, and such jar doesn't exist.
I removed the dependency to BRMS facade from the rule project, but I'm still getting the same error, probably because this jar is absolutely required for generating a rules web service.
Any thoughts?

When you say you are using BRM WS Generator - are you referring to the plugin available for 7.11 or is it the in-built functionality available from BRM 7.2 onwards?
In the second case, the BRMS facade reference is not required for rules project. All you have to do is use the WS Generator wizard to simply generate the web service file on the click of a button.
I would recommend you to repair your NWDS and try generating web service for a ruleset again.

If you try to follow the links to the ThinkVantage Active Protection System, you are presented with a document labeled: ThinkVantage Active Protection System for Windows 8 (32-bit) - Laptop or a document labeled: ThinkVantage Active Protection System for Windows 8.1 (64-bit) – Notebook
No reference to Windows XP, VISTA or Windows 7 in the current version of the documents, yet the text file pointed to by the download links states that this driver still supports all the older ThinkPads and is applicable to Windows 7 and VISTA. The text file does say that Windows XP support has been withdrawn with this release, and that XP users should use the previous version. It does not, however, provide a link to any document or mechanism where an XP user can obtain the previous driver.
So, is the document correct, or is the text file correct?
Where is the current driver for VISTA and Windows 7?
When I went to the support sites to see the supporting documents there, I discovered that the ThinkVantage Active Protection entries were gone from the R61, R500 and T500 driver matrices. The only reference I could find to the ThinkVantage Active Protection System was in the above mentioned SOFTWARE link.

So now there are numerous separate entries, but none of them claim to support any 'legacy' machines. Most of the above entries point to the same driver (at present). The puzzling aspect to all this is that if you read the text documents that accompany most of the above driver packages, you will note that the text document claims that the driver supports quite a number of legacy machines. That information just never made it to the web page.
So do I manually update a driver because the text document says it is applicable to my legacy R500, or 'believe' the web page which states that only some current models are supported, but not the R500, T500 or R61.
Very inconsistant and highly unprofessional.

Missing em.ear file while installing 11gR2 in windows 2003 R2

hi,
i have downloaded the oracle 11gR2 for windows 32 bit version but while installing "copying files" i am getting the error "file missing <>\applicatons\OC4J\em\em.ear and em.war files...
is there files missed while down loads? i have two zip files with 1.5 GB and 700MB of sizes.
i might think the anti-virus might be preventing some of the ear and war files to be downloaded ? anybody encountered this issue before?
