I7-3820 oc genie multiply problem

hi just flashed bios to 4,7 with new me drivers then switch off Pc and press co button boot normal.
Check multiplier was set for 40x in Command C and Cpu-Z now restart Pc again and after boot iv notice that multiply is set on 37x in CC and Cpu-Z but bios shows me that Cpu is run on 4000 Mzh im lock dont now what to do i tried nearly everything

It's preferred and recommended if you do CPU/RAM stuff in the BIOS itself, not Command Center.
Also, I think it's waste of time for OC Genie as it's not always working and not for everyone. Just make standard OC in BIOS and get on with it
And yes, PC restart is usually required when changing multipliers/bclk and other stuff.

  • My Iphone/ Ipod touch 4th gen WiFi problems and solution

Just wanted to let people know the problems that I had with my 4th gen Ipod touch and Iphone 4 WiFi connections (and my solution).
I was having consistent problems with my WiFi connection at home - my devices were connecting fine to the router and apparently the signal was full strength; however, nothing was working properly (internet, itunes, app store). To be specific the devices would work for 5-10 minutes but then the connection would start to falter. My other wireless devices were working fine (HTC Hero, laptops etc.) - just the ipod and iphone seemed to suffer from this signal problem (although the router was always apparently connected).
Obviously, I read countless forums to try and diagnose the problem. There seemed to be a litany of possible causes and I tried the following to resolve the issue:
    - updated router (Netgear WGR614 v6) firmware
    - rotated wireless encryption (WEP/WAP/nothing)
    - changed router channel
    - reset router power
    - reset network settings on Apple devices
    - changed g and b settings on router
Nothing seemed to work so I began to question the hardware i.e. the router (which I knew was working from my other devices) and the iphone/ipod.
I tested my iphone and ipod on other wireless networks (McDonalds in the UK has free WiFi) and found that, in contrast, they worked fine on other networks. I had read a few posts from people saying that my router was perhaps too old. So as a last resort I bought myself a new router (Netgear WNR2000 v2). I was loathe to do this earlier in case it didn't work, since reasonable spec routers are £50
Anyway it worked ... straight away. I have tested the new connection at home using this SpeedTest app. D/load = 9.01 Mbps, U/load = 0.46 Mbps, Ping 65ms. The router is using the full encryption (WAP2 something ...) and N connection.
As you can probably tell I'm no WiFi expert - I just wanted to post this in case people are having similar issues with older routers. I wasn't able to find any definitive advice and solutions from other users so I though I'd contribute here, which I guess is the first port of call for new Apple users, like me
I bought the new router 10 days ago and have been enjoying my full speed connection ever since - touch wood. Hope this helps.

Sounds like an intermittent contact problem some where eon the logic board. Hard to trace down and fix

  • IPod Touch 2nd Gen. Problems

    Hello
Lately I've started having multiple problems on my iPod touch, to list them:
    1) the shuffle feature doesn't work as it should; in a playlist of around 30 songs it will shuffle through the same 5 or 6 for ages! I have to repeatedly press next for several minutes till it finally reaches a new song and even then it usually just adds that one or possibly two extra songs into its loop.
    2) I'm not sure about this one but when I play a video once the video finishes it starts again from the beginning depending on whether or not I've got repeat turned on in the music app. As I said I'm not sure about this. This could be how it's meant to work but its never done it before and has only occured recently and sporadically.
    3) When downloading apps if I move from the home screen the app is installing on, it just disappears and I have to start the download again; also it can just cancel any downloads for no apparent reason and it won't download anything till I turn Wi-Fi on and off.
    4) The create playlist feature no longer works, I add songs to a playlist and the next time I sync my iPod with the computer it removes them from the playlist instead of updating the computers version to match my changes.
    5) When I try continue a playlist or album I was listening to several hours ago it will randomly play either another album or the entire iPod library despite the fact that when I open the music app it opens at the point at which I left it.
    6) My Google calenders occasionally disappear meaning I have to remove and re-add my account to regain my calender info.
I have restored the iPod twice, if its of any assistance my iPod is the second gen. iPod touch 32GB iOS 4.2.1 and it is NOT jailbroken (I don't do that sort of thing). My computer is a late 2008 aluminium macbook running Mac OS X Lion.
I hope you can help me
    Thanks in advance
    Thomas Murphy

I'm not convinced that adding to a two-and-a-half year old post is going to get you anywhere.
You should be running iTunes 12 by now, while the original post refers to iTunes 10. So one would imaging that any problem caused by bugs in iTunes 10 had been sorted out by now.
I suggest that you create a new discussion, specific to your issues and that your description of the problems you have is a bit more detailed than you have provided so far.

Don't believe everything you read, particularly if it is as negative as that.

Apple if you are reading this I hope you guys come to your senses and fix it, lots of people have the same problem with 2nd and 3rd generation IPODs. It is annoying but I have faith that you will fulfill these requests. THANKS!
What problem precisely? I regularly use a 2nd generation Touch and do not have any problems with it.
By the way, Apple do not routinely monitor or read these discussions. This is a user forum, where we help each other.

  • ITunes to iPod (5th Gen) download problems

Problem encoutered: "Attempting to copy disk to iPod failed. The disk could not be read from or written to."
This is the messaged I've received in trying to download my current iTunes library to my new 5th Gen iPod.
I have found it I remove the last song that iTunes attempted to download to the iPod; the the downloading continues. BUT, it occured again with another totally different song.
What is going on here? Has this occured with any one else?
Lastly, I did call Apple. We did a restore and downloaded the lastest iPod software.

I posted this in another forum.
This may pertain to you as well.
"ALL RIGHT EVERYONE! Anyone who has problems with their iPod freezing while syncing Listen Up.
I have successfully figured out what needs to be done in order to get your iPod syncing properly.
What you will need for this it another hard drive or computer (running OS X)
You can either set a hard drive (like one of the previous iPods with OS X installed on it) as the startup disk in System Preferences.
    OR
There's another option for you if you have another Mac..
What you'll need to do is start the one you need to repair (that you sync your Pod from) in "target disk mode" which is done by restarting the computer and holding the "T" button.
This puts your computer into Firewire mode, and makes your computer an external hard drive for another computer to view.
You will also need a 6pin-6pin Firewire cord - to connect the 2 computers.
Once you have the main computer up as a disk image on your other desktop, open disk utility and click the Repair disk option.
I did this and it said the drive could not be repaired, and I ran it again and it fixed it the second time, so that might happen to you too.
I know this seems like a lot to do to get your computer working with your iPod, but it definitely works.
If you don't have another computer, and (as most of you seem to) have a portable like a powerbook or an ibook, just bring it to an apple store and I'm sure they'll gladly help."
Let me know if you have any questions....
    Good Luck!

  • Ipod First gen connetivity problem

I've just got given a first generation ipod from a friend but i'm having problems connecting to windows.
I have another first gen which is working fine on my pc! come to life as soon as it is plugged into the firewire card at the back of the pc and updates everything fine.
This "new" one doesn't do anything though! windows isn't detecting it at all! it doesn't turn on automatically when it is plugged in like it should. It charges fine through the firewire so what could be the problem?
I know the battery is poor on the ipod... could this be the problem? that it hasn't got enough power? both of my ipods don't charge when plugged into the pc.
I'm going to leave it charging for ages and ages and hope it works, also I may replace the battery on it.
any other ideas? The ipod is already set up to windows! and has loads of songs on it.

I have reset it several times. The battery is fully
charged as well. I've tried two different computers
and 2 different cables and it doesn't seem to show up
at all. It should come up with the apple logo and say
ok to disconnect but nothing comes on the screen at
    all!
This sounds like there is a hardware problem in the iPod. Do you know that it was working properly when you aquired it?
Any ideas? should it show up in my computer? or
    device manager?
Yes, it should. You should be able to see it in Device Manager and Disk Manager and if it is allocated a drive letter it should also show up in Explorer as a disk drive.

  • Brand new ipod touch 5th gen 64gb problems with first power on

I have just received a brand new ipod touch 5th gen 64 gb from amazon. After reading the instructions i tried to power it on but nothing happened.
It was suggested on here to try the recovery start but again, nothing happened.
I then plugged the device in to a wall socket charger to see if the battery is flat, but the apple logo comes on for about 15 seconds then goes off again. If I hold down the home button while the apple logo is off, after a while the ipod goes into recovery start up, but as soon as i unplug it from the wall socket adaptor it turns off.
It will not do anything plugged into the usb soccket of my laptop.
Any ideas or will I have to return this to amazon?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. You can go to an Apple store even if yo purchased it from Amazon

  • IPod touch 3rd gen artwork problem

Hi I have an iPod touch 3rd gen (early 2010) and it has worked perfectly with just one minor nuisance - album artwork.
I am able to sync every single album artwork that I've assigned to each song from iTunes to my iPod touch, and they do show up properly when I'm playing the song. However, some album artwork won't show up in the "Unlock" screen even though I'm playing the song at the moment.
This problem cannot be solved by deleting and resyncing the songs in concern. Only by updating the iOS firmware (which, as we're well aware, only takes place once in a blue moon) would the songs whose album artwork won't show up in the "Unlock" screen show up again.
The problem is very annoying because if I accidentally remove some older songs from my iPod touch and wish to sync them back again, their album artwork would no longer show up on the "Unlock" screen, assuming that these songs are "new" (as in post-major iOS firmware update).
I hope the above is descriptive enough of the issue. Can anyone kindly point out what's happening, or hopefully redirect me to a similar thread where this problem has also been encountered and solved?
Thank you very much for your kind attention!

Did you check for software updates for your ipod or are you on the latest version possible?
In case the firmware file (*.ipsw) on your computer is damaged, try to delete the ipod software file located in C:\Documents and Settings[username]\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates to make iTunes download a new copy when you connect in recovery mode.

  • IPod touch 5th gen jack problem

    Hello,
So here's the problem. I have a 32gb iPod touch 5th gen and it's working fine until I plugged it into a portable speaker. (THe ones used in PC) The sound that came out had a static background. Now, every time I plug Apple's default earphones into the jack, the sound that comes out is too loud. Adjusting the volume doesn't help. It's as if the earphone had turned into a speaker. What's worse, there's still the static background. It's like tuning on an FM station with really bad reception.
I've done the ff, and nothing worked so far:
    1. Reboot
    2. Reset settings
    3. Tried 3 different pairs of earphones.
What should I do. I would also like to add that I can play the music through the iPod's built in speakers without any problems. It's just the jack.

    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

  • OC Genie/Motherboard Problem

    Hi guys,
I think my mobo has problem. When i push the OC Genie button my system has to try many times to boot in windows - 2, 3 or even 4 in row. New beta bios made the problem worse (system kept trying and trying to boot) so i went back to bios 1.2. I run memtest with success stress-tested my cpu while in default checked the connections and tried also without the bios battery but the problem remains.
I have the same problem sporadicly when i try to manually overclock my cpu and use the xmp at the same time.
Im thinking that its the mobo that fails :(
    Any ideas?
Edit: This happens even when i try to restart the system or when i boot in bios to make a small change.

Quote from: Bernhard on 24-September-11, 02:38:55
What you have shown there is not uncommon when the BIOS attempts a couple of times to set the memory spd and timings, especially when the memory's spd profile is not JEDEC standard.
I have a board from a different manufacturer that also exhibits 2 or 3 restarts when overclocking the mem. It only does it the first time though. No subsequent settings changed, and all subsequent boots are normal.
I have also had motherboards from other brands but when i had a stable "normal" overclocked system i didn't have that kind of problem during the restart process. Besides, if that was happening during a cold boot i knew that i would have to adjust bios settings. Now my motherboard has the ocgenie feature but it doesn't work as it should  :(
Its either the board or some kind of board-memory incompatibility
Here is a cpuz+ CC screenie
Im a bit confused with all these timings and i dont know which ones i should change manually...:S

  • IPod Nano 5th Gen Screen Problems

I have only been using my nano 5G for less than a month and I'm facing screen problems. Two horizontal lines appear about one centimeter from the bottom of the screen similar the where the older nano 4G screen borders. Anyone else faced this same problem? I really hate to have to put all my music back after getting it repaired.

When you reinstalled iTunes 8, did you use it on one of the newer 5th gen ipod Nanos, or a previous model ipod?
From all I'm reading everywhere, this new iTunes 9 is a real mess! I'm planning on re-installing back to
iTunes 8 soon ... I can't stand the slow speed and crappy user interface Apple did on this latest version. It looks like a bunch of high school kids put iTunes 9 together, definitely not an Apple quality
    product.

  • Ipod Touch 1st gen music problem.

Hello, I have a 1st gen Ipod Touch 16gb running 3.13 and iTunes 10.2.2. Tracks play fine with iTunes, but the same tracks loaded onto my ipod will not play, no matter what format they are in( I have tried mp3 and AAC, 128kps and upwards). Done a reset and restore, uninstalled and reinstalled  iTunes with no change.
Initially the first 10 or so tracks would play fine, then anymore after that would not. After a restore none would play. Everything else works well. Before the update there was not a problem, but i need this update as some of the apps will not work with anything beforehand. I am guessing that this may be at the root of it all, but am not sure what to do. I would be grateful for any help. Thanks. stuhux

    Hello again,
all tracks were from different CDs, ripped using 3rd party software and placed in iTunes library as mp3s(all work in other media players), AACs created through iTunes from original mp3s. I can certainly  buy music in the future from iTunes, but it would cost a fortune to replace my existing collection, which is more or less useless to me if I depend on the Ipod Touch as it is. Is it possible to restore to an older working update, as music is the main reason for having it in the first place? The apps will have to be sacrificed. I don't really want to buy another one if this can work. Thanks again.

  • 2nd gen sound problem

I just got a new 2nd gen touch and it will play a song all the way through, but on the second song (or video), the sound disappears after 2 seconds. The ipod still shows that it's playing the song, but without sound. The same goes for video. You can watch the video, but no sound. Switching between the two appears to fix it, but this can't be right. Anyone else have this problem??

I'm also having this issue. Both video and music. It doesn't happen for every song or video, just some.
