  • Cannot uninstall Java2 SDK, SE v1.4.2_02 on win2000 SP4

    Hi,
I cannot uninstall Java2 SDK, SE v1.4.2_02 on win2000 SP4. Follows the details.
After opening "control panel", "add remove programs", selecting "java2sdk, SE v1.4.2_02" from the list, and clicking the "remove" button, the following happens:
    1) A window appears showing the text "Preparing to remove" ;
    2) A second window appears showing "Please wait while Windows configures java2 SDK, SE v1.4.2_02" and "Gathering required information";
    3) After some seconds, an error window appears: "Installer terminated prematurely";
    4) After clicking an "OK" button a second error windows shows: "Add/Remove program" title and the message "The I/O operation has been aborted, because either a thread exit or an application request".
Any help, please? Some one knows a workaround or how to manually uninstall the j2sdk 1.4.2_02?
    Thank you in advance,
    Daniel

    OK,
Fixed. After passing a ScanDisk to fix possible disk errors, the JSK uninstalled.

  • Is there any way to use iPod touch with Win2000/SP4?

Got an iPod touch for christmas... very cool. It doesn't synch with my computer... not so cool.
The information I've found - compatibility chart at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60971 - suggests that I'm SOL with Win2000 - it appears that I can't upgrade past iTunes 7.3 whereas 7.4 seems to be required for the Touch. Are there any hacks our ways around this, or am I just going to have to suck it up...? I don't like using sketchy pirated OS's but I'm not real excited about going out and buying a new OS either.

There is no way for you to use iTunes with Win2K and the Touch. You can use 3rd party software, WinAmp, with a plug-in: http://www.winamp.com/ but this will not let you download upgrades and purchase 3rd party software for the Touch when it becomes available.

  • Crash the system Win2000 (SP4)

    Hello,
I must every two weeks install Windows 2000 with the SP4 while I used 4 Ipod (differents models).
I don't understand why the computer crash when I only use Ipod. The system can not be reboot and I coudn't make a repair of the system (Win2000), I must Install win 2000.
I have installed two computers with the same configuration for use Ipod only and the two computers crash every one or two weeks. Is it a problem for drivers or any things else ?
    I wait your informations.
    Thank
    Marc

This has been reported before. The driver for that device is incompatible with 10.6.8. Contact the vendor for an update.

  • QuickTime 7.2 not supported on Win2000 SP4

    Hello,
On Jul 07, there are multiple vulnerabilities announced on QuickTime prior to 7.2. On a second note by IBM ISS, the vulnerabilities only impacts the following platforms:
-Apple Computer, Inc.: Mac OS X 10.3.9
-Apple Computer, Inc.: Mac OS X Server 10.4.9 and later
-Apple Computer, Inc.: QuickTime Player prior to 7.2
-Microsoft Corporation: Windows Vista Any version
    -Microsoft Corporation: Windows XP SP2
I'm planning to upgrade to 7.1.6 on my W2K SP4 platform, is my machine still vulnerable to the latest vulnerabilities (release on 11-Jul)? Is there a QuickTime 7.2 for W2K SP4 platform for upgrade?
    Regards,
    JooEe

QuickTime 7.2 for Windows requires XP or Vista.

  • Win2000 Server and Tiger Compatibility

We're a commercial printer and just bought 2 new G5's with OS 10.4.3. Our server is Win2000, SP4. We also have some Mac's with OS9. We are connected to server via TCP/IP.
When copying customers files from OS9 to server, the type 1 font size is zero K when viewed on the G5. Fonts look ok when viewed from OS9. When copied from OSX fonts look ok but OS9 views size as zero K.
Do we need third party software such as XtremeZ-IP or is there something we can do to address this problem?
    Thanks, Bob
    G5   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

    Hi Bob!
Are your Mac OS X machines connecting via SMB rather than AFP? A file size of 0k would indicate you're looking at the resource fork rather than the data fork (where the bulk of the file's data resides).
ExtremeZ-IP isn't necessary, but for a commercial printer I'd recommend it to take advantage of 10.4.x's AFP 3.2 features such as long file names (up to about 255 characters) and Windows' full set of permissions (not just owner, group and everyone but also the extended permissions).
Keep in mind that to maintain compatibility with your Mac OS 9 systems, you need to keep file names short and permissions simple.
    Hope this helps! bill

  • When I launch Firefox/Mozilla it comes u; with a Yahoo Search window. My older Firefox versions opened with MyEarthlink as my start page. Even designating Mozilla as my default browser still brings up Yahoo. What gives?

Downloaded 3.6 and when I clicked on Mozilla icon, it loaded with Yahoo Search page and not as my previous Mozilla browser. To get to Earthlink, I have to type the URL in the Yahoo search window; same with any other URL. Before, I had a URL window above the browser page. Both the 3.6 and now 4 beta are painfully different.

  • Job submitting fails (VNI-2015) - VARIANT

Here a little variant of the VNI-2015 problem!
On the managed node i have created a local user who is also a local administrator with the "log in as batch jobs" right. Also i have enabled the logging for all system-events like log in /log out.
The same user is a superadministrator in OEM with preferred credential for the managed node and database (username and password).
When i create a backup job with the wizard i register a log-in in the system-event and a log in to the database in the application-event(? - is a german version). After completing the wizard for the backup-strategie i register the log out in the system-event.
When i now submit the job to the node i register nothing as if the OEM did not try to connect to the node and after a few seconds i receive the VNI-2015 error-message.
    Could anybody explain this behavior?
    Thanks

    sorry, i forgot the systemdetails:

  • ESS/MSS Installation to R/3 4.7 Enterprise

    Goodday Guru's,
I've just received a requirement to install and configure ESS/MSS. Backend system is on R/3 4.7 and Portal is on EP 6.0. I have downloaded ESS 50.4 and MSS 60.1_19 for this requirement. There would not be any development work, only out of the box standard ESS/MSS configuration. I believe that most of you out htere have succesfully implemented such a requirement. Would you mind sharing your experience with me? Any step-by-step guide would be very appreciated.
P.S:- Just a quick check. For this requirement, do i need to  download ESS/MSS/PCUI for WebDynpro component? I know that it is needed for ERP2004 (ECC 5.0).
    Regards,
    Johan

    Hi Johan
the following is procedure that u need.
if u have all DVD/CD for installation than go by following.

  • Error In Java Studio Enterprise 8 on creating EJB

While creating an EJB in Java Studio Enterprise 8 inan EJB Project, I get a 'Stream Closed' Error on clicking 'Finish' (see the image link). Why is this so? I can't proceed further.
    http://img301.imageshack.us/img301/7348/17xf.png

I've restarted the IDE, restarted my PC, but to no avail.
To see if it was a PC specific issue, I tried this on both Win2000 SP4 and Win XP Professional. Both seem to be giving me the same problem. And yes, my project is located on my hard drive. It's a single user configuration.
I cannot even start a single EJB project. Is there any workaround? Why does this happen?

  • Error Code 10 with GPIB PCI Card

PC used: Dell optiplex GX110, lastest Bios release, Windows 2000 SP4, GPIB Drivers version 2.2, Local Admin session.
After having install the driver (without the GPIB)and plug the card, this one is automaticaly recognised by the Os.
But, after the reboot (asked by the OS to validate the installation), the GPIB card appears, in the device manager, with an error code 10 (not started)....
I tried with two (new) differents GPIB PCI Card, two OS (First time with NT4.0 SP6 Drivers 1.7 and now, Win2000 SP4 Drivers 2.2) and with two PCs Dell Optiplex GX110 !
I even tried with a "Ghost" from an other PC (also an Optiplex GX110, with the same model of GPIB Card)
-> I obtain the same error each time !
    Help me please..........

    Hello,
Could you give me the exact reference of the board (PCI-GPIB, PCI-GPIB+, AT-GPIB, AT/GPIB-TNT...)?
Is the error code displayed on the Windows device manager (in the properties dialog box of the device)?
What is the exact description of the error code?
A PCI-GPIB installation do not need to reboot the OS if the NI-488.2 driver is correctly installed. The board should be recognized in MAX and you must be able to scan for instruments and start I/O communication with the device from test panels in MAX.
Update me as soon as you receive another feedback.
    Regards.

exbpa does not report anything, i even get it to connect to the exch01 for it AD access.
    Any ideas??
    Thanks

(over all i like what i have been seeing in ex2007)

i think that you might be confusing "AD user account" and "profile". you DO NOT delete administrator from your AD Users and Computers. you only delete the Profile (\documents and settings\administrator folder). you can NOT do this while you are logged on using the administrator account.
be sure to backup any data in your my documents and any favorites
create another user that is in the domain admin group of your active directory, log on with that account and verify that the exchange tools works. then follow this to remove the profile.
    >1). Logon the Exchange server by using another admin account.
    >2). Open Control Panel, select System.
    >3). Select Advanced tab and click the Settings button of User Profile.
    >4). Delete the Profile of user which encounters this issue.
    >5). Click OK.
    >6). Restart the server and logon it by using Administrator account.

once this is done, logon with your administrator account and try the tools again, they should work.tn

  • Calling Java from Delphi via JNI

Hi all. I've got a J2EE application, and I'm trying to write a Delphi client for the server. More specifics:
Server and test client running in Win2000 SP4.
Server running in JBoss (JUnit test cases have successfully connected to the server)
    JDK 1.4
I'm using some Delphi files from JEDI which allow me to load/access a JVM via JNI. So far, I've been able to:
    1) Create a Properties object.
    2) Populate the Properties object with String values (making sure to use NewStringUTF to pass into the Properties method
    3) Find my java client classes which facilitate opening a connection.
However, when I attempt to call the method on the object which actually creates the connection, I get an Exception.
My immediate question is how do I see what the Exception is? I have an Exception object, but ExceptionDescribe doesn't product anything, and I'm having trouble finding any details about the Exception (what type of exception, what the Message or Call Stack is). At the moment, something's wrong but I can't see what. And I'll have no chance of fixing it if I don't know what the problem is.
    Thanks for any help,
    Ed

I use some code for solving this task (in real project with Delphi 6.0 & Java 1.4.1).
    May be, it will help.

  • How to map text(n) in access to varchar2(2n) ?

    Question 1:
Because some asian characters count 2 bytes in oracle
while they count only 1 character in access, I want to map
any text column with length (N) in acccess to varchar2(2N), so that there won't be any data loss.
I tried changing it in 'data type mapping' page of capturing wizard.
I set 'length' of text->varchar2 mapping to 2.
I Also tried changing Options from tools menu before creating oracle model.
But the oracle model created wasn't affected by this setting. In oracle model, the result is still varchar2(n)instead of varchar2(2n)
    any suggestion?
    Question 2:
So I tried to change the size of columns in oracle model.
    ( eg: change varchar2(40) to varchar2(80) )
    Partly it worked.
The columns created in destination oracle database are 80 bytes long,
but the data migrated was cutting off at 40, the rest was gone.
    any suggestion.
    ps.
    access 2000 -> oracle 10gR1
    omwb 10.1.0.4 ( win2000 sp4 )

    Hi, turloch
    Zfan,
-Are you getting this problem only on text to
varchar2?as far as i know, yes. only on text -> varchar2.
i changed the mapping of text->varchar2 in tools->option->data type mappings
set it to 3 then recreated the oracle model as being prompted.
but the mapping is not correctly reflected in the resulting oracle model.
-Does setting the target for Text to varchar2(4000)
help? [click on the field change to 4000 then click
on another field before clicking ok]yes. i've tried. setting it to 4000 makes all the varchar2 column 4000 bytes long.
i also tried 100, makes all the varchar2 column 100 bytes long.
i also tried 90, no effect.
-Is this a general problem or a specific problem?
i.e. Does this happen on memo to clob
conversion...(As well as local testing here in
Dublin, Ireland, testing is done in Japan which I
would expect to catch most multibyte character
issues)i don't know abt. memo-> clob. never tested it.
but for text-> varchar2, it definitely got some problem.
    >
The columns created in destination oracle databaseare 80 bytes long,
but the data migrated was cutting off at 40, therest was gone.
This sounds like a bug, is this reproducable, for a
test case, and does it occur in other conditions?
i can provide screen shot or test case if you want.
can upload them info oracle files so that you can download it.

    Hi Sireesha -
    >>>As per your suggestion. I am trying to reinstall the XI Component again. But the setup is not asking me for any uninstallation of the existing setup nor any message saying that you already have the XI Component installed. Does it mean that the XI Component got deleted automatically?
It's hard for me to say not being able to see your system, but here are some things you can check:
    - check link http://<xi_host>:<j2ee_port>/sap/monitoring/ComponentInfo
You should be able to see components like SAP_XITOOL, SAP_XIAF, SAP_XIAFC which would indicate that XI components are installed.  You need role SAP_J2EE_ADMIN to access this.
    - Using SDM, you can see what's currently deployed in the SDM repository for XI related components.
    - Using Visual Admin, you can look for XI related services within the Server instance.
But in any case, try reinstalling the XI Java components (which is really what you're installing following the SR1 Installation Guide).  If you run into problems during the installation and it's possibly due to already existing XI components, I would recommend, cleaning the slate and uninstalling the J2EE Add-in and starting again from the J2EE add-in part.  Instructions for deleting the add-in are in the corresponding WebAS Java 6.40 <platform/db> install guide (in the last section - "Additional Information").
Regarding the central adapter engine, yes, this is installed automatically when you do the main installation of the XI Java components.  Instructions in the SR1 guide specifically referring to the Adapter Engine are for a decentral adapter engine.
    Hope that helps.
    Best regards,
    Jin
