  • OC4J IAS Problem

Hello, I`m new to deploying stuff in IAS, and I got this problem:
    Unknown web-site default-web-site, for OC4J instance ormi://localhost:3202
Any clue of what should I check to try solving it? Or may be causing it?
    Thanks

    Hello,
Oracle Containers for J2EE (OC4J) support multiple web site (a an entity where you manage various web application). My guess is simply that you are trying to deploy an application to an OC4J , using the web-site name "default-web-site," and this site does not exist.
It will be useful for us that you give:
    - the exact version of OracleAS that you are using
    - the tools that you use for deployment (EM, JDev, Command line, ...)
and the parameter you are using to do the deployment.

  • Ias problem in admin tool login.

    Hi,
When i try to deploy a 9MB J2EE application on iAS6.0SP2, the process
goes fine, but my iAS Admin tool doesnt work. It gives timeout error.
But if the same application's size is cut down to 7MB, the admin tool
works fine. Can you please suggest me the reason for this?
    Thanks and Regards.

    Hi,
That was a known bug in iAS-Sp2, which has been fixed in iAS-Sp3.

  • JDBC problem or IAS problem

I am using JDBC to connect to the oracle database and check the access:
    DriverManager.registerDriver(new oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver());
    conn = DriverManager.getConnection(
    "jdbc:oracle:thin:@"+ getConnectionString() ,
    username, password);
if The user give wrong password, I catch the exception to handle it.
However, in the Log, I found that the system will retry to connect to the database accumulatively.
    for example:
Error login, it will retry 2 times in JDBC connection
error login again, it will retry 3 times ... etc.
this effect is accumulative unless I restart the IAS.
    Please advice.
    Thanks

TCP/IP connections are handled in MaxDB by a special program (the x_server) which usually, except in special cases (see below) handles all connection to all databases on this computer.
Ok, I understand that. But does database manager gui actually create the network entries or is that a manual step outside fo the tool?
So, is there really a need to have this separated in the port access?
Not in this instance, but from an architecture standpoint I would like to separate these databases on different ports from a security standpoint.
Last question: What did you do in database manager and from where comes your view of having one database on 7120, and one on 7211?
In database manager - choose Instance - then create Instance from the drop down menu. Choose custom from the create database instance wizard. From here you can define the port.
Once you create the database it will be available with a different port listing in the main screen .

You have to make sure your project is configured for J2SE 1.4.2 and J2EE 1.3 as stated in
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/collateral/papers/10g/as_supportmatrix.html
There is also a help topic in JDeveloper (Deploying ADF Applications - Oracle Application Server Release 2 (10.1.2) Deployment Notes ) that states how to ensure this. XML files like web.xml, application.xml and more are not compatible between J2EE version and have to be generated for the right J2EE version.

  • Web Authentication with MS IAS Server

I'm trying to configure my 2106 WLC to authenticate with an MS IAS Radius Server. I had this working, but my boss did not want to do any configuration on the client side and now wants to do all authentication through Web authentication with the Radius server. The wireless client connects and is redirected to the login page like they're supposed to, but when I enter my credentials the login fails. However, if I enter the login of a local user to the controller the authentication works.
I see in the logs the following error: AAA Authentication Failure for UserName:chevym User Type: WLAN USER. The authentication is reaching the server too, but the logs don't tell you much.
Here is what is in the server logs: 192.168.0.77,chevym,07/29/2008,05:58:16,IAS,TESTLAB1,25,311 1 192.168.0.221 07/28/2008 17:27:10 48,4127,2,4130,TESTLAB\chevym,4129,TESTLAB\chevym,4154,Use Windows authentication for all users,4155,1,4128,Wireless LAN Controller,4116,9,4108,192.168.0.77,4136,3,4142,19
I don't really understand any of that and I'm not really sure if I have the server itself configured correctly for what I want to do. Does anyone have instructions on how to do this?

I had another thread going on this, but since it appears to be an IAS problem, I've been posting on the MS forum instead of here.
I'm trying to set up wireless laptop-WLC-IAS authentication using PEAP.
The machine authenticates on boot, but any login by any user results in this message in the Windows Event log on the IAS server:

The policy is the default connection policy created when installing IAS.
In ADUC, I've tried setting both the machine and users Dial-In properties to Allow Access or Control through policy, with the same result.
I've gone through the policy and there isn't anything there, other than the Day-Time rule which is set to allow access for all hours of the whole day, every day.
In the last few days, I've read about the Ignore User Dial In properties, but can't find where/how you set this.
It sounded to me as if this had been resolved in this thread, so I wanted to know how this had been accomplished.

    Hi.
when you say you have installed weblogic on the same machine several times and it worked, do you mean you have installed wls
6.1 sp1? Or do you mean you have installed other versions? If you have installed this version before then you might try
reinstalling with a fresh download of the install binary.
If you are still having problems then you might want to open a case with support.

  • IAS 6.0 installation problem on Windows 2000 Server

I've been trying to install iAS 6.0 Test Driver Service Pack 3, but it just
does not seem to be doing anything, installation process shows me a progress

    Hi Abdul,
Can you please tell me which webserver you are using with Test-Drive-Sp-III, it
    should be iWS-4.1.
As you are trying it on a windows m/c, sometimes fixing the DNS-suffix in usual
way doesn't update the windows registry.
To make sure that it is added to the windows registry just run regedit and click
    on the :
    My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\Tcpip\Parameters
key, you will see the Domain key value set to your domainname, otherwise enter
the domain name into this key value, and than reboot the m/c, and than reinstall
    the iAS. It should work.
If you further encounter problems, please mail me back.

  • Problem with SSL and IAS 9.0.4.3.0

    Hi,
I want to use SSL for my own webservice, but when I enabled SSL for my AS then I can't use my Forms-Applikation.

    Without SSL is everything fine.
But when I made the changes to use SSL then I can use my Webservice with or without SSL, but I can't start the Test-Form-Mask (test.fmx) from the AS.

Have someone a hint for me or better idea to use SSL with a webservice?
    Thanks in advance.
    Knut

I configured the HTTP-Server and the OC4J-Containers for Forms and my webservice for SSL.
But for Forms I don't need SSL, only for the webservices.
In the meantime I tested SSL with IAS 10.1.2.0.2 and there is the same problem.
I think the last 3 messages come from Web Cache, because everytime when I try to test whether the Web Cache is working these messages shown in the error log from Apache.
Sometimes are the following messages in the error log of the Apache:

  • Problem with execution of  a forms in Intranet (IAS oracle Server)

    Hi every body!!!!
I have a serious problem, that i could not resolve for more than a week, it's awfull!!!
my problem is that i have compiled certains forms V6 in IAS oracle server with using the command f60gen, when i call certain of my forms from a menu in intranet, they could not be executed, even if every things is compiled correctly!!!
Just a precision: the forms that i wanted to excute, calls another forms at the end of the trigger "when-New-Form-instance"
another thing: i have released that only the forms that call other forms, that could not be called from my menu, all other simple forms are accessed correctly!!
    Can some help me please!!!!!!
thank you so much for your help,
    Reda

Thank you for your answer, but i will explain much more my problem:
From my intranet, I have a menu in which a call my forms, and there are two possibilities:
The first: there is a direct call to a Form in this case it is okay.
The second case: there is a call to a Form A that will call a Form B.
in the form A: there are just some initialisations to global variables and at the end there is a call to A form B in the trigger 'when-new-instance'
I deployed theses forms in two machines, it worked in one machine, but didn't work in the second machine, so i compared the configuration of the two machines but i didn't find any difference!
Just a precision: I have deployed Forms version 6, because i have upgraded them from the version 3.5 to 6 and the old versions work fine in the two machines.
Thank you very much for any suggestions

SP2, iPlanet AS 6.0 on UNIX? I followed exactly the jce1_2_1 installation
guide (for the JRE bundled with iAS) but still got a SecurityException:
certs cannot be created for trusted CAs.
If you solved the problem before, please give me some hints. I have been
working on this for days and I will appreicate your help very much.
    Many thanks.
    Xuran

Your PATH us wrong in two respects. You need the 'bin' directory in the PATH and not 'java' and you need to make the bin directory of 1.5 ahead of the bin directory of other java version.
    PATH=/home/mec/jdk1.5.0/bin:/home/mec/apache-ant-1.6.2/bin:$PATH

  • Problem in IAS Server with generation of PDF with FOP and XML parsing

    Dear co.forumers :
We are developing an application that generates a pdf document with FOP Apache utilities, and this PDf is stored in a folder of the server. Firts of all, a DDBB data is retrieved using java ( jdbc) middleware classes ( servlets ), and with these data, the pdf is generated using FOP. In these process, he data retrieved from the DDBB is converted in a XML file , and the with the XSL FOP utility, the pdf is generated.
In the other hand, we have another application that consults data from a java beans, using a JSP, generates a XML with the data of the beans, and with this XML, and with a XSL file generates and html , with the data and fixed text.
Both applications have been deployed as a separated WebApp in the IAS. Both use Xalan as XML parser amb Xerces is used aswell.
So, the problem is , after generating a pdf with the firts application, every html generated via JSP-XML-XSL transformation in the second application is shown completelly bad formated. All fixed text are wrongly composed, and the text that should appear in textFields and ComboBoxes is also bad formated. The XML with the data is well generated, so the problem is in the parsing of these XML and the conversion in html through XSL. We have to re-initiate the server and then everything goes well again. If no pdf is launched, no problem occurs with the other application.
How an a WEB APP pplication can affect to another, installed both in different folders of the IAS ? We tried to change Xalan version and FOP version, but no result.
    Is this a Poltergeist ?? and X file , maybe ?
Has anyone had the same problem ?
Pleae, any help will be very wellcomed.

A PDF document may be generated in the JDeveloper OC4J server.

  • Problems With Reports server in Oracle 10g IAS

I am having problems with the reports server. It keeps on giving me the error below
REP-51002: Bind to Reports Server <myreportservername> failed
I am able to correct it by restarting my server while my backup server is off the network and playing around with my server configurations. It works for a while 2 weeks to a month then I start getting the same error again.
Could someone please point out to me where I could be going wrong?
Is there any known problems when 2 IAS are on the same network. I am on Windows 2000 Server.
    Thanks

  • Problems with new installation of iAS on Windows

This is a new installation of iAS 10.1.2.0.2 on Windows. The application server doesn't come up properly after reboot. The log file D:\Oracle\ora101_infra\opmn\logs\OC4J~OC4J_SECURITY~default_island~1 contains an error stack that begins with:
SSO: DB Error. Please make sure the database is available and restart SSO Server
Obviously, the database (service name OracleServiceIAS472F) is started after the rest of the services (service names similar to Oracleora101_XXX). I have found documentation on how to make the ProcessManager service of the OracleAS Infrastructure before it starts up the ProcessManager service of the middle tier, but no notes on starting the database service in an order different from Windows default. Extensive googling doesn't give me that others have had similar problems. I would like to verify before starting to mess around with the order of services starting at boot time.
The person doing the installation (I don't have direct access to the machine) maintains that installation of WebUtil is causing these problems, and that the problems disappear if he reverts the configuration of WebUtil. I have limited experience with forms configuration and cannot see the connection.
Any input would be greatly appreciated!
    Regards,
    Maria

Maria, we have numerous installations of both 10gDB 10.1.0.5/10gAS 9.0.4.2 and 10gDB 10.2.0.3/10gAS 10.1.2.0.2 here. The environments are all two server configurations: 1 server has DB + AS Infrastructure, 1 server has AS Middle Tier. I have not had an issue with a DB server reboot causing the Infrastructure to not come up, although we have a strict rule of always rebooting these two servers in pairs: first DB then AS Middle Tier. And since there are gazillion MS patches, they do get rebooted frequently. Regards, John
