IAS9i with Portal3.0 on RH 6.2 Linux

Hi,
I am installing iAS9i and having problems with the Oracle Portal Configuration Assistant.
It goes all the way through the install, and returns a message that errors were detected in the post-installation check. -The SSOHash has not been loaded into the DB. - The enabler configuration table does not have any entries.
In the iAS9i installation log, I found an error in Install Action 11, running ssoinsd.sql, Error at line 1, ORA-06510 and ORA-06512: at "PORTAL30_IAS2A_SSO.WWSSO_UTL", line 1094, and at line 495, and the same type of errors in "WWSSO_LS_PRIVATE" , line 238. It also indicates that the SSOHash does not exist.
It found similar errors in ssoseedl.sql, and a few others: Setting Portal Partner App, and Setting Login Server Partner App.
I also saw errors in ssoseedw.sql: Error Seeding the Portal Enabler config entry.
In ssossedu.sql I saw: Error Obtaining Login Server Configuration.
I found the manual way of installing the SSOHash (loadjava -user portal30_IAS2A_sso/[email protected] -resolve SSOHash.class) and it appears to run without error, after I changed the script shell from ksh to sh.
However, I still get the same errors when trying to reinstall (after uninstall) Oracle Portal.
After reinstall OP, and SSOHash, I tried to run the scripts that failed manually, but got the same errors as before.
I hope I have provided a reasonable amount of detail.
Can you help?
null

Ok,
I have followed the MetaLink Note #133400.1 for installing iAS9i on Linux.
The only differences between it and what I had already done was to set ORACLE_TERM and use the Blackdown jdk (I had used Sun's).
I still get the exact same errors.
What version of RedHat are most people starting with (6.0, 6.1, 6.2, 7.0, ...)?
I have a 8.1.6.1 EE DB running on a 6.2 system with the appropriate upgrades.
Can anyone who has made this work help me?

    I'm facing the same error message while install Siebel 8.0 on OEL. But before I had this ksh problem, it complains about disc space first, and I actually has plenty of disk space under the directory (it needs only 0.7 G and I have 17G free). Anybody has encountered such problem before?

  • Problem with the renameTO method in the Linux environment

    Hi
    I got a problem with the renameTO method in the Linux environment. The file is not moving.
    This method is returning false. the same code executed successfully in Windows environment.
    Can anyone give some fix to this one or an alternate solution to move the files in both windows and Linux.
    boolean success;
    File root = new File(tempPath);
                   File f = new File(root, phyFileName);
                   File dest = new File(targetPath);
    success = f.renameTo(new File(dest, actualFileName));actualFileName = 400.doc

    Can u solve the below doubt.
    Will renameTo method wont work in Linux? If so why?Did you not read what I said? I suspect you are trying to rename a file so that it actually has to be moved to a different volume (partition or hard disk) so it won't work. One would have the same problem on Windows trying to rename a file on the c: drive to a name on the d: drive.

  • Problems with Dynamic Remastering (DRM) with 10.2.0.4 on Linux Itanium

    One of my customers is having severe RAC performance issues, which appeared three times so far. Each time, the performance impact lasted around 10 minutes and caused basically a hang of the application. ASH investigation revealed that the time frame of performance issues exactly matches a DRM operation of the biggest segment of the database. During the problematic time period, there are +50 instead of 2-3 active sessions and they are mostly waiting for gc related events: "gc buffer busy","gc cr block busy", "gc cr block 2-way", "gc current block 2-way", "gc current request", "gc current grant busy", etc.
    In addition, there is one single session which has wait event "kjbdrmcvtq lmon drm quiesce: ping completion" (on instance 1) and 1-3 sessions with wait event "gc remaster". (on instance 2)
    Does anybody have any experience with DRM problems with 10.2.0.4 on Linux Itanium?
    I know that it is possible to deactive DRM, but usually it should be beneficial to have it enabled. I could not find any reports of performance impact during DRM operation on metalink. Support is involved but clueless.
    Regards,
    Martin

    Oracle Support has requested stacktraces of lms processes during the period of performance degradation. We decided to enable OSWatcher to get systemwide linux data and procwatcher to get lms process stacktraces. We created a Grid Control User Defined Metric to check whether the symptoms of a DRM performance problem is taking place. Then we triggered the lms stacktraces with a Grid Control Response Action script of the UDM.
    Oracle Support has also requested global hanganalyze and system state dumps but we decided not to collect system state dumps because of the big additional performance impact.
    The oswatcher data showed that during the drm period, the lms processes had very high CPU resource utilization.
    In the meantime Oracle Support has confirmed that we are hitting 6960699. We have received patch 8516675 which includes the bugfix and have installed it. Now, we are waiting to see whether this indeed fixes the issue.

    Hi All.
    i've a 64Bit red Hat Linux 2.4.21-37.EL , 5GB Ram , 3GB Swap Space.
    Oracle10g R2. i've 2 prodection database each is having 1400MB of SGA.
    when i check the free meory it shows only 12mb of ram is free..why..?
    and in swap space it's only 200mb is used...why..?
    when i check the dbwither is taking 1.2GB of RAM why..?
    can anybody help me in this ...how to get free memory or configure os level to get more free memory.
    Sarit
    [email protected]

    Linux uses Swap space to run applications. The RAM available may not be enough to run the applications so OS swaps the program between RAM and the swap space to run applications.
    You can see your swap partition being used as the swap space with:
    cat /proc/swaps

  • [SOLVED] Keyboard & Resume with Laptop (MBP 6,2 w/ linux & linux-lts)

    I am using a frequently updated Arch install on a Macbook Pro 6,2.  I have an intermittent problem for the last week or two.  I am not sure how to troubleshoot.  I could be missing something, but I am not sure what.  I use systemd power features to suspend my laptop (systemctl hibernate).  I tried with current linux (3.15.7-1) and even started using linux-lts (3.14.15-1).  It does not happen every resume, but very frequently I can boot, go past refind, select the boot entry (keyboard works in grub2), enter the LUKS passphrase (keyboard works), and after resume I can get the password prompt in xscreensaver.  At this point, the mouse works but not the keyboard.  I plug in a spare external USB keyboard, and then I reload hid_apple with rmmod and modprobe, and fix the X keyboard settings.  Only then does the Macbook discrete keyboard work.  Does anyone have ideas how to fix this?
    Mkinitcpio hooks:
    HOOKS="base udev autodetect modconf keymap block encrypt lvm2 resume filesystems keyboard fsck shutdown modconf consolefont"
    Grub kernel parameters (I only recently added nmi_watchdog=0, as this was causing other failed resumes and I thought it was inter-related, the keyboard issue occurs regardless however):
    GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet"
    GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="cryptdevice=/dev/disk/by-uuid/00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000:vgmain resume=/dev/mapper/vgmain-lvswap i915.lvds_channel_mode=2 i915.lvds_use_ssc=0 i915.lvds_downclock=1 i915.i915_enable_rc6=7 i915.i915_enable_fbc=1 i915.modeset=1 radeon.modeset=0 nouveau.modeset=0 pcie_aspm=force video=efifb nmi_watchdog=0"

    I am not sure what happened, but the issue resolved after upgrading my kernels (vanilla linux and linux-lts) and other deps.  I had to move off pacget and moved back to default.  When I was using pacget I found no updates for a week or more, so I knew something must be up if this is an Arch laptop.
    Anyone, the updated kernels seemed to have resolved the issue.  It was exacerbated by this kernel version apparently.

  • Need help with running a Java program on Linux

    I am trying to get a Java program to run on a Linux machine. The program is actually meant for a Mac computer. I want to see if someone with Java experience can help me determine what is causing the program to stall. I was successful in getting it installed on my Linux machine and to partially run.
    The program is an interface to a database. I get the login screen to appear, but then once I enter my information and hit enter the rest of the program never shows, however, it does appear to connect in the background.
    Here is the error when I launch the .jar file from the command screen:
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: illegal component position
    at java.awt.Container.addImpl(Unknown Source)
    at java.awt.Container.add(Unknown Source)
    I am not a programmer and I am hoping this will make some sense to someone. Any help in resolving this is greatly appreciated!

    Well, without knowing a little bit about programming, and how to run your debugger, I don't think you're going to fix it. The IllegalArgumentException is saying that some call does not like what it's getting. So you'll have to go in an refactor at least that part of the code.

  • Workstation 11.1, Tools 9.9.2 build-2496486: Not compatible with GCC 5.1.0 on linux (Arch, Debian, Ubuntu, etc)

    First, there are some compilation problems with the latest linux kernel and Tools 9.9.2's source of vmhgfs: vmhgfs module not compilable for VMware Tools 9.9.0 (Fusion7.1) after Ubuntu Linux kernel update to 3.13.0-46-generic (Febr. 2015) (Shared Folder Feature not working in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Guest) on MacOSX Yosemite (Host))?
    In short, you have to patch the source to get it to compile: rasa/vmware-tools-patches · GitHub
    Arch linux is a "rolling" distro, meaning we always have latest - and are usually the first to find problems before it trickles down to Ubuntu, Mint, Debian and other Linux distros. Well, now there is a serious problem that is unresolvable.
    The vmhgfs source is not compatible with linux kernels built with gcc 5.1.0.  It hard locks the VM, requiring a hard reset when the kernel module loads.  It also hard locks during vmware-tools-install.pl torwards the very end when it says, "Guest filesystem driver" enabling.  And on boot, it is vmhgfs that is being loaded when the VM hard locks.
    I was able to get around this earlier when gcc 4.9.2 was in core - i just rebuilt the kernel under 4.9.2: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=196915
    Obviously that isn't a long-term solution.  But now that gcc 5.1.0 has been pushed out to core, that means recompiling the kernel under 4.9.2 is no easy feat since dependencies now depend on gcc 5.1.0.
    @Developers: We have a big problem with VMware Tools vmhgfs and kernels compiled under gcc 5.1.0.  Given it make take years before the Debian distros get the latest and greatest, it's coming.
    Because of this, and the wasted time in me having to support this mess, I may recommend to my company we no longer continue with our Enterprise account of 100 licenses of Workstation and Fusion.  It is obvious in the previous thread vmhgfs module not compilable for VMware Tools 9.9.0 (Fusion7.1) after Ubuntu Linux kernel update to 3.13.0-46-generic (Febr. 2015) (Shared Folder Feature not working in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Guest) on MacOSX Yosemite (Host))? that VMware is no hurry to resolve even the simple build errors that the community has resolved last year with patches.  Good thing too, renewal comes up in two months.
    I shiver to think how long it will take VMware to release a fix for gcc 5.1.0.

    Additional info...
    The hard lock is a panic when mounting the /mnt/hgfs partition, which is what is configured in my fstab:
    .host:/
    /mnt/hgfs
    vmhgfs
    defaults
    0 0
    The reason the above is just "./host:/" is for the auto-mounting of shares on the fly, or all shares on boot.  Specifying a share doesn't change anything.
    Even mounting it manually panic's the kernel:
    mount -n -t vmhgfs .host:/<shared_folder> /home/user1/shares
    Again, this all worked fine with a kernel built on 4.9.2, but not 5.1.0.

  • How to create a folder with spaces written in Java under Linux?

    Hello,
    I have a serious problem
    I want to run a Linux command using a Java class with the runtime interface, there is a command to create a folder named eg "My Folder", with a space
    For create the Unix command is easy to do either:
    mkdir My\ Folder
    or
    mkdir "My Folder"
    But how to translate this in Java, I tried with two commands :
    Runtime.exec("mkdir My\\ Folder")
    Runtime.exec("mkdir \"My Folder\"")
    For example :
    import java.io.IOException;
    public class CreerDossier {
    public static void main(String[] args) throws IOException {
    Runtime runtime = Runtime.getRuntime();
    runtime.exec("mkdir My\\ Folder");
    runtime.exec("mkdir \"My Folder\"");
    But it's still not working,
    For runtime.exec("mkdir My\\ Folder") it creates two folders My\ and Folder
    For runtime.exec("mkdir \"My Folder\"") it creates also two folders "My and Folder"
    Are there solutions?
    Thank you !

    But my real problem is how to apply the chmod 777 on a folder containing spacesSo why not say so in the first place?
    Runtime.exec ("chmod 777 My\\ Folder");Runtime.exec(new String[]{"chmod", "777", "My Folder"});
    That is why I chose the example of mkdirYour reasoning on this point is incomprehensible. You wanted help with A so you asked about B. Just wasting time.

  • Problems with a c++ code on a linux pc translate into java windows pc

    Hello does anyone know how I can use this c++ code in my java program.
    This is a c++ code what we use on a linux pc now I have to make the code
    for a windows pc with java.
    void GetLocalIP(int s,struct sockaddr_in *local)
       struct ifconf cfg;          // info structure to request our IP addr
       struct ifreq  ifs[3];       // part 2 of info structure
       int done=0;
       int x=0,l;
       // Get local ip addr, make information struct
       cfg.ifc_len = sizeof(ifs);
       cfg.ifc_req = ifs;
       // ioctl interface informatoin into the struct we made
       if (ioctl(s, SIOCGIFCONF, (void*)&cfg) == 0)
           l = cfg.ifc_len / sizeof(struct ifreq);
           while (!done && (x<l))
             if (strcmp("eth0",cfg.ifc_req[x].ifr_name)==0)
               memcpy(local,&(cfg.ifc_req[x].ifr_addr),sizeof(struct sockaddr_in));
               done=1;
             x++;
    }

    How do you want to "make the code for a windows pc with java" ?
    Java can use sockets directly, and you can get the Local IP address by this code..
    regards,
    Owen
    import java.net.*;
    public class testnet
        public static void main(String[] args)
            try
                InetAddress local = InetAddress.getLocalHost();
                System.out.println ("Local Host Name : " + local.getHostName() );
                byte[] ip = local.getAddress();
                // Now do a bit of conversion to print the IP address from a byte array
                System.out.print ("Local Host IP   : " );
                int toUnsignedInt;
                for ( int i=0; i<ip.length; i++ )
                    if (i>0)
                        System.out.print ( "." );
                    toUnsignedInt = (int)ip& 0xFF;
    System.out.print ( Integer.toString( toUnsignedInt ) );
    System.out.println();
    catch ( Exception dooohhh )
    dooohhh.printStackTrace();
    System.exit(0);

  • Problems with running a scipt in SuSE Linux

    Hiya,
    Need some help please. I'm writing an application in SuSE linux and I'm having trouble porting it over from my SuSE 9.1 Pro desktop - to my SuSE 9.2 laptop.
    I'll try and keep it as brief and simple as possible so here goes;
    Firstly, everything works perfectly on my desktop which is running SuSE 9.1 Pro (which the program was written in)
    The problem is running the exact same code on my laptop which is running SuSE 9.2 Pro.
    The line of code that is causing me the problem is this:
    Runtime.getRuntime().exec("bash -c /home/bryan/.annwn/scripts/annwnCommand.gmt");As you can see, all I'm trying to do is run a simple script (that will execute a bunch of commands and create an image.)
    Now, this code works perfectly when run on my desktop - but will not run on my laptop.
    When I try to run the code with my program on my laptop, nothing happens. However, if I run this on the command line:
    bash -c /home/bryan/.annwn/scripts/annwnCommand.gmtThe script is run - It works pefectly. It also works on the command line if I just do:
    /home/bryan/.annwn/scripts/annwnCommand.gmtThe only difference in my development environment is SuSE 9.2 over SuSE 9.1 - but I cannot see how this would affect this command not running from within my application.
    So, can you see any reason at all why the command would work perfectly on SuSE 9.1 (and through my application), and perfectly on the command line of SuSE 9.2 - but not when run through my application?
    I know it's a long shot, and it's a pretty vague problem - but if you can think of anything. I'd be very, very grateful.
    Hope this makes sense!
    Many thanks!

    Thanks.
    I'm running both applications as the same user. All other aspects of the application and code work perfectly - just running that script using the Runtime method.
    Basically, everything is exactly the same between to the two machines - only the difference in OS version.
    I'm guessing that it well may be a Linux problem, sorry if this is the wrong forum. I'm just at a complete loss with this!
