IBM Rational Team Concert Project Plans not displaying correctly on Firefox 7

Rational Team Concert (RTC) is a project management tool from IBM. Since installing Firefox V7.0 on 9/27/11, several columns of data are completely or partially displaying blank. If I go back to Internet Explorer the data appears properly (but IE is too slow to use). Also my peers who are still using Firefox 6.0.2 are not having any problems. I have restarted Firefox 7 without add-ons and also restarted with a new profile as suggested in V7.0 troubleshooting tips but have the same results
RTC is licensed from IBM but runs on a local server.

I think RTC only officially supports Firefox 3.6, but I may have found the wrong system requirements page... here are some random thoughts.
(1)
Do you know whether RTC uses anything other than ordinary HTML/CSS/JavaScript to construct pages, such as a Java applet or an add-on? You can check for any blocked add-ons here:
orange Firefox button ''or'' Tools menu > Add-ons
On the left click Extensions, then scroll through the active ones down to any grayed-out ones.
(2)
Are the blank columns usually filled in dynamically after the page loads (i.e., using AJAX techniques)?
You could check for script errors. These don't usually allow you to solve the problem for yourself, but might give rise to some ideas for workarounds.
To open Firefox's error console, press Ctrl+Shift+j and click the Clear button. Then reload the page and check for errors (you can use the Error button to filter out all the other noise, such as style warnings). Anything notable?
(3)
To see whether this problem is caused by the HTML5 parser, you can turn that off. Please save any unfinished work first.
(i) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(ii) In the filter box, type or paste '''html5''' and pause while the list is filtered
(iii) Double-click '''html5.parser.enable''' to toggle it to false (it should turn bold).
Then return to the problem page and reload. Does that make any difference?

  • New user of Firefox. Webpage I made not displaying correctly in Firefox but OK in Win IE. Why is this?

Im new to Firefox. Just found out the website Im maintaining does not display correctly with Firefox but OK with Win IE. Why is this?
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened

I'm going to make a prediction here:
The webpage will contain a lot of code written specifically to the non-standards compliant way IE works, and will also "not display correctly" in the following standards compliant browsers:
    Chrome
    Safari
    Opera
and the solution will be to code the pages according to the standards meant to be followed so it displays correctly in all non-IE browsers, '''then''' see how it displays in IE.

  • Certain special characters do not display correctly in Firefox ( font COLOR="#1f1a17" FACE="Symbol" SIZE="3" ¬ /font ). Is there a fix?

Certain special characters which display correctly in Explorer do not display correctly in Firefox. Example: <font COLOR="#1f1a17" FACE="Symbol" SIZE="3">¬</font>
    Is there a fix?

The symbol font usually doesn't work in Firefox, a website needs to use an Unicode replacement or an HTML entity to specify such a character.

  • Website not displaying correctly. Firefox is changing the character set to Western (ISO-8859-1) automatically.

Normally I have set Firefox (or it's set by default) to Character Set Unicode (UTF-8) and everything displays perfectly. I've never had a problem before.
Now however, whenever I upload my own website, for some bizarre reason on that particular tab (and only that tab) the Character Set is changed over to Western (ISO-8859-1) and then there's a few characters within my site that do not display correctly, namely apostrophes and hypens.
It definitely isn't my software (Serif WebPlus X4) because the page displays correctly in every other browser. Plus it displays correctly in Firefox if I change the Character set back to Unicode.
PS The site is a work in progress

That happens because the server sends a content-type (<b>text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1</b>) via the HTTP response headers and in that case that content type prevails. The page code is saved with an UTF-8 byte order mark () that you see in this case.

This is happening probably because the text encoding on your server end is set wrong. Or perhaps your FTP program is doing the encoding differently. This is commonlly seen when uploading iWeb pages to 3rd party servers and can be corrected.

  • Template not displaying correctly in firefox

    Hello,
    it's probably a question you've answered a thousand
times...I'm totally new to designing pages so I used a template
from DW (from sample, starter page, personal training homepage). I
have only modified some text, and after uploading to my host to
have a look at it, it displays incorrectly in Firefox, but fine in
IE. However, when i preview the page from DW with F12, it opens in
firefox in local mode and looks like it's intended to look.
I have tried uploading the template without any modification
and the firefox problem is still there...
    Am i missing something ?
    have a look : www.englishcoaching.fr
    Thanks in advance !
    Belinda

    Look at the code.
You have several broken links on the page you have uploaded -
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="file:///E|/Documents and
    Settings/Administrator/My Documents/Unnamed Site
    2/mm_training.css"
    type="text/css" />
Note that the stylesheet link is pointing at a file on your
    hard drive,
which certainly will not work on the web. This is usually the
    mark of an
improperly defined local site. You do have a local site
    defined, right?

  • TV Listings do not display correctly in Firefox

I am using windows 7, 64 bit on one computer and windows 7 32 on an other.  Neither display the TV listings correctly in Firefox V. 21.  I accept cookies, I have cleared the cache.
The channels appear in the left column, although out of line, and are for Dallas, TX, and I live in NJ. After the table of channels, the listings appear, once again, for Dallas.
    Here's the bottom:

Have you tried using another browser?  I have Firefox 21 on a WIN7 64 bit, WIN7 32 bit, and a WIN8 computer.  All three display the TV listings correctly.
Try deleting your Verizon cookies. Sometimes individual cookies get corrupted for some reason.

  • Integrating JDeveloper with IBM Rational Team Concert scm

    Hi,
I'm my project we are using JDev 11.1.1.5.0 for developing ADF web app & IBM RTC 3.0 tool for source control management.
There is no plugin available to integrate RTC with JDeveloper unlike CVS & Clearcase.
I need to integrate the JDeveloper with the RTC & I'm looking for some initial information for me to get started.
    Thanks in advance,
    -Gaurav

    Hi Shay,
As I'm new to JDev extension, I've couple of basic questions :
    1. When I run the VersionControlRCS extension, under 'RCS' versioning option, I can see other operations viz. "Add, Check Out, Check In, Pending Changes & Version History".
But none of the options are enabled. Can you please tell me how can I enable these options.
    2. Does the VersionControlRCS extension will also provide the user interface screen within JDev to view the pending changes (list of files that got added/modified/deleted)?
(I'm expecting the answer would be 'No', but still thought of getting it confirmed)
    Thanks,
    -Gaurav

Firefox will show the link if nothing is blocking it...
In case an ad blocker, script blocker, or another extension is involved, could you test the page in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
    * "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
    * Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still run
After Firefox shuts down, a small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset).
    Any difference?

  • Why do some web pages not display correctly in Firefox?

When I go to certain websites the text formatting in Firefox comes out to where hyperlinks and lines of text are displayed on top of one another but the same site is formatted properly when I load it in Internet Explorer.

You may have zoomed the page(s) by accident.<br>Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems.
    *<b>View > Zoom > Reset</b> (Ctrl/Command+0 (zero))
If you have made changes to Advanced font settings like increasing the minimum/default font size then try the default minimum setting "none" and the default font size 16 in case the current setting is causing problems.
*Tools > Options > Content Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)
Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own fonts.
*Tools > Options > Content Fonts & Colors > Advanced: [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"
It is better not to increase the minimum font size, but to use an extension to set the default page zoom to prevent issues with text not being displayed properly.
You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    *Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
