IBM Recovery Program

Hello,
I recently installed a copy for Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit onto my T61.  Prior to this OS, my T61 came with Windows XP Professional.  When installing Windows 7 Ultimate, I did a custom install and erased everything I had.  When I received my laptop, it didn't come with a recovery CD as my recovery image is in a hidden partition on the hard drive.  If I needed to recover the system image it could be accessed at startup by pressing F11 or by using Think Vantage.  I tried doing both these things and there were no options that allowed me to begin the recovery program.  The document that came with the packaging also told me to shutdown and boot my laptop and when "Windows Boot Manager" (I'm not sure what they mean by that) hold the down arrow key and select the IBM Recovery Program and begin the recovery.  I don't understand what's wrong.  Please let me know.  You're time is greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

I recently attempted to create the recovery media and discovered a number of corrupt and missing files in the recovery partition.  Contacted Lenovo customer service and after explaining the situation to them, they sent me a DVD set at no charge!  Give them a call.

  • T3o Product Recovery Program

I need help with my thinkpad T30. I was running the IBM Product Recovery Program version 5.7 to restore my thinkpad, and it is not working properly. I have run this before with no issues. I changed the start up to boot from CD, ran the recovery option, said yes to delete all etc. and once it is done it asks me to remove disk and press enter to restart. Now the last time I did this is used all three CD's and this time it doesnt prompt me to switch cds. Then it reboots to the Windows setup page, says the set up is starting windows, and nver does anything, just stays there on the blue start up page. What have I done and what do I do to fix it??

Be sure you have all 3 manuals that come with the Lenovo. They are
    1-Lenovo Ideapad S9/S10
1-Lenovo OneKey Rescue Systen 6.0  (This is the one you need).
    1-Lenono IdeaPad S9/S10 Setup Poster v1.0
All of these should be available for download at the Lenovo

  • Tried to update to newest version. I got error because i didn't have this recovery program disc that was supposed to come with the purchase but it didn't and now my ipod touch 8gb won't connect with itunes and is stuck on a connection with itunes screen

I tried to update to newest version via pc. I got error because i didn't have this recovery program disc that was supposed to come with the purchase so it says, but it didn't and now my ipod touch 8gb won't connect with itunes anymore and is stuck on a screen displaying an itunes icon with a usb icon.

oke i'm not done with the whole thing, but i'm doing that right now. Most of the advice I've already read didn't work and at a certain point it said something about shutting down programs then restart. but i notice that there are some pretty important system things in that list and i don't want to mess up my pc :s i'm not a pc genius... and because i'm dutch and my pc-language is in dutch I often have trouble translating and well... i don't always understand the technical stuff in all the articles -_-

  • What's a good file recovery program for a MacBook Pro running IS 10.7.5?

Hey gang - I ordered a miniStack 4TB external hard drive from OWC a few months ago during a long overseas trip. I finally unwrapped it and started dumping data to the drive from the 1TB drives (also from OWC) I used via my MacBook Pro. I connected the 4TB to the laptop with FW800.
I came back from the gym (gone about two hours) and saw a "the drive wasn't disconnected properly..." window. There was a clicking noise coming from the drive, which means mechanical failure.
I went into Disk Utility and the drive is there but it's grayed out. I changed cables to USB 3.0. Unplugged the drive. Shut down the laptop. Then went through the start up and nadda.
So before I run off a disk repair place in town and spend $1000, what's a good hard drive recovery program to use to pull the data? I only dumped 1.5TBs until the 4TB and have other drives to dump that data too if I need to.
    Thanks.
    Cheers,
    Bill.

    General File Recovery
If you stop using the drive it's possible to recover deleted files that have not been overwritten by using recovery software such as Data Rescue II, File Salvage or TechTool Pro.  Each of the preceding come on bootable CDs to enable usage without risk of writing more data to the hard drive.  Two free alternatives are Disk Drill and TestDisk.  Look for them and demos at MacUpdate or CNET Downloads. Recovery software usually provide trial versions that enable you to determine if the software would help before actually paying for it. Beyond this or if the drive has completely failed, then you would need to send the drive to a recovery service, such as Data Recovery by DriveSavers, which is very expensive.
The longer the hard drive remains in use and data are written to it, the greater the risk your deleted files will be overwritten.

  • What is a good recovery program

Hi I am looking for a good recovery program, someone has mentioned  Disk Drill, can anyone recommend this, or are there better options.I've mistakenly deleted an image folder and hopefully I shall be able to recover it, as the images are quite important.

  • Hi, G550 i wont to burn facroty defult disc, the recovery program cant find the partition of lenovo.

Hi, i have G550 i wont to burn facroty defult disc, the recovery program cant find the partition of lenovo, but i see its there i think the letter of the pratition is change... what can i do? (how much DVDs i need, in the program i see 3 DVDs but all the partition is like 5GB?)

The partition letter can't be changed because it's hidden (at least you use a specific software or specific commands).

  • DVD data recovery program for Mac?

    h'lo all
I've burned a Memorex DVD+R DL on my old G5. It burned and verified just fine, but it won't mount on my new MacPro (or any longer on the G5). All of the data recovery programs that are specifically for DVD data recovery seem to be PC only.
Does anyone know of a Mac (OS X) program for DVD data recovery?
    thanks

Prosoft Data Rescue II, Subrosasoft Filesalvage, and Boomerang's Boomerang may be able to extract data from the DVD. Make sure the drive in question is capable of reading the DL media burnt at the speed you burnt your disk, and faster. http://www.macsales.com/ has Firewire DVD drives that are among the fastest Mac compatible drives in the market.

  • Need a good free data recovery program

Can anyone suggest a good free data recovery program? I have some deleted images on a camera card that I'm trying to revive.
    Thanks!

If there is any chance of recovery at all your best bet is Prosoft Data Rescue 3 . There is a free trial to see if it can recover what you need. But don't do another process on that drive until you've downloaded and run it.
That means that ideally you should use another bootable drive to download and run Data Rescue. Or booted from another Mac in firewire mode. Also, there is always the option of ordering or going to the store to purchase the DVD. Then running from the optical drive.

  • Is there a recovery program to undelete?

    THE STORY:
Basically, I had a lot of music on my computer in iTunes, and it was taking up all the memory. I had to get it off, so I bought the 80G iPod and put all of the music on it, deleting all of the computer's music afterward. Later, I went to put the music back on the computer from the iPod to make some changes with artist info and such. I was able to copy the files back on, but in the process my computer froze (darn Windows!) and basically shut down. I didn't realize that they hadn't completed copying, so I went ahead and restarted the computer and assumed they were all back there. I then hooked my iPod back to the computer, and hadn't yet added the re-copied files into iTunes, but merely left them in a folder on the hard drive. At this point I accidentally synced my iPod to my now empty iTunes. What it did was replace my iPod's files with the nothingness in iTunes--emptying my iPod completely. I was very frustrated because the whole reason I bought an iPod was to keep my music, and now all was lost. Adding the few files that had re-copied gave me back around 500 songs. Restoring the files in recycling bin gave me a new total of about 1600. However, originally I'd had about 4300. I think what happened was when I deleted the files it was too big for recycling bin so it only held a certain amount. Using a demo recovery program, I was able to locate 2700 songs or so which takes me to about what I originally had. However, it being a demo, I couldn't actually restore them. Then I thought, the iPod itself is technically a hard drive, and it would be a lot easier if I could just restore all the data lost from there. And shouldn't it be sort of floating around inside or something?
    THE ACTUAL QUESTION IS:
Can I restore data when the iPod's accidentally erased, or/and is there an undelete or data recovery program available to get my songs back, or are they lost forever?
      Windows XP

There are some data recovery programs on the market. I've no personal experience of them so I can't say how effective they are, here's an example: iPod Data Recovery Buegie - Recovering Songs </a
None of the recovery programs are particularly cheap so you have to decide if in your particular circumstances it's worth it to get your songs back. It may be if you have a lot of purchased tracks which you will have to pay to download again. If they came primarily from your CDs then it's most likely not as you can re-rip them.

  • How can you tell FCPX project files in a deleted trash recovery program

    Hello All
Did the unthinkable and trashed a FCPX project folder I need.....and emptied the trash.
I immediatly went into recovery with program ''Stellar Phoenix...'' and was able to recover loads of files.
Since they are now ''generic'' labeled, I can't decifer which one is the FCPX project file.
Does anyone have a method to determine which is which in a recovery situation.
    Some further info....
recovered files are organized in folders by types:
                   OSX 10.6
                   graphics
                   documents
                   apps......sub folders to include: ''c source...plist....apple scripts....etc
                   video
                   audio
                   archive
                   and a few more..
It seems apparent that it's not going to be video, audio. graphics...etc
but I was thinking ''apple scripts'' as a project is just instructions for the timeline movie, right?
anyway, have a lot of searching to do and no real map on what I'm looking at here.
Anyone had an experience like this and can shed some light?
    ...greatly appreciate it
    Thanks!

    Monty,
Within FCP, there is a menu item called "Media Manager" (depending on what version you are in). This would be worth your while to look into. It basically organizes your project by moving/archiving any used assets of a project and leaving out un-used assets. It saves a ton of disk space.
For example, say you have a 5 minute clip with an in/out point that is just 30 seconds. Media Manager will "archive" just that 30 seconds, not the entire clip. There is even a setting that you can add additional "handles" time to the front andd back of the clip if you think you may need to add or change transition.
Do a google search. I was just watching a few Youtube videos on this myself.

  • Can someone recommend a photo recovery program for iMac

Please help me.  The micro SD card on my Galaxy S4 is damaged.  I need to get the photos off of it and get them onto my iMac, if that is even possible.  Has anyone had any experience with this?  Is there a program out there that can help me?
    Thank you,
    Stephanie

There is an app here Recover deleted photos from Galaxy S4 microSD card | Samsung Galaxy Recovery  for Macs for reading the MicroSD card from a Galaxy S4.
If the card is physically damaged then there's not much you can do; there may be some service out there that you could give large amounts of cash to that might be able to recovery some data.
If it's just the files that are damaged in some way, then you might be able to repair the files with some sort of drive utility. I imagine that this card is not formatted to be readable on a Mac (I tried looking up how this card is formatted for the Galaxy but I could not find any info on this), so it's unlikely that it would mount or be repairable with Disk Utility. But maybe there is some equivalent app on a PC.

  • Cyberlink Recovery Program Issue

I have an HP G62 Notebook PC.
It suddenly started into the HP recovery mode one day.
I backed up my files using the Cyberlink progam to an external hard drive and now have a bunch of WIMs.
I ended using System Recovery, thinking the drive was partioned with my data on a safe partition, but was wrong.
When I try to recover the data onto the HP, the application freezes up and doesn't complete the recovery.
This happens both when I try it from the external drive and when I copy the recovered files folder to the C: drive and try to run the recovery.
Is there another, more robust version of the Cyberlink program or a newer version that I can get?
    Thank you,
    Steve

You can burn the DVD using the CD burner XP and see if that makes a difference.
The only difference between the clean install and the recovery disks, is you will have to install the hardware drivers, where the recovery disks will do all that for you--and the recovery disks will install the HP software that came with your PC.
You will still have to do the gazillion windows security updates either way.
I wonder if you have to run the cyberlink utility on a W7 PC?
Like I said, I ran it on my W8.1 PC and it gave me an error.
The only operating systems listed under compatiblity are windows 7 operating systems.

I'm upgrading the hard drive on my T42 and want to create some Product Recovery discs but the program calls up a window looking for a "recordable drive" and it is blank. The drive is working and my attempts to upgrade the driver and firmware said they were up to date. Any ideas before I do a hard drive Restore?
