It's basically just a monitor right? Just download the appropriate ATI drivers, probably v10 drivers. Here are some for Vista x64 and Vista x86 for the x1xxx series.

    Hello everybody,
I am trying to get a samsung syncmaster 400DXN to work as a htpc. I've installed eveything but i just can't get the video card to load the drivers. They are custom made by samsung. Can anybody here check the installer or the cab file and point me in the right direction? I've attached it. The setup will not run

  • Fix for video tearing ATI Radeon HD 4200 using Catalyst Driver??

Hey guys, as the title asks, is there a fix for pretty serious video tearing that I am experiencing on my ATI Radeon HD 4200 video card? I'm using the proprietary driver (catalyst, built from AUR) and would prefer to use that one or, if need be, radeonhd driver as I need HDMI sound output.

  • Problem Driver Ati Radeon HD 6490M

After installing Windows 8 on my Hp Pavillon dv7 6090el, I have downloaded and reistallend the drivers of my Radeon HD 6490. The problem is that the Catalyst Installer recognize my card like the Ati Radeon 7400M, then it says it's impossible to   install the drivers. The card now it's not working! Also if I enter in the management device it says there the card ATI Raddeon 7400M with a problem and not working. But that's not the card was installed on my notebbok.

  • Corrupt T60 video driver

Today I unfortunately updated my ATI Radeon/FireGL video driver from the Microsoft site.  I use the term "upgraded" loosely as the update process has rendered my video driver unusable.  I've tried uninstalling it and reinstalling the driver from the Lenovo drivers site, but the install process never seems to complete and I get a missing driver INF error.  I've tried this mulitple times and either end up with a blue screen when I boot or the default 800x600 resolution because the driver never gets installed.
Does anyone have any suggestions for how to hard force an uninstall of everything video driver related so that I can install the latest Lenovo video driver or another way out of this mess I'm in?
    Sam

    Hi thompsam,
    Welcome to the Lenovo forum
The last time I messed with an ATI driver update (from Lenovo I'm pretty sure) it came with a program to "completely remove all ATI drivers" from your machine. You might have a look for that, and run it if you find it. After it's done, then try installing the ATI driver from Lenovo.
Over the years there have been cases where you can gain extra features by installing the driver from ATI or even 3rd parties. But I think the most recent advice is to stick to the drivers that Lenovo supplies. Those know about the specific configuration of the GPU in your ThinkPad, and are most likely to work without problems.
Hope you figure it out, please let us know.
    Good luck,
    Frank

  • IMac and video card ATI Radeon HD 4850

Using my iMac 24"/3.06/SD with OSX 10.6 and trying to access Final Cut Express, it tells me I need an AGP video card! Why isn't the ATI Radeon HD 4850 able to display FCE? It operates all my other Apple software. Please, has anyone an idea about this?

  • K7T & ATI Radeon problem

    Hi All!
I have a strange problem and could not find a cure for it so far. Hope you'll be able to help me.
I've recently put an MSI-6330 board and a ATI Radeon 9200 (mfg: 3DConnect) together. The problem started at the first boot. The board didn't sense the VGA card (Ta-TiTiTi :-) (no picture, monitor stayed suspended). Hard Reset -> the same beeps came. I switched my board off and on again. Now it recognized everything and boot up normally.
I checked it out again. Switched it off, then on. Beeps were coming from the speaker. Switch it off and on. Boots up OK.
So I _always_ have to switch on my computer twice to make it work normally...
Do you have any idea what can cause this?
    BIOS: 3.6
    CPU: AMD Palo XP1900+
    RAM: 256MB 133MHz SDRAM
VGA: 3DConnect ATI Radeon 9200 w/ 128MB DDR (brand new)
Though, my PC is working fine after the second start...
    Any advice would be appreciated..
    Robbie

I guess it's a 9200SE (128MB DDR).  I plugged it into an Intel Desktop Board and it worked fine. no complains at all. I am really sorry though that some one else is having the same problem.
waj_uk: It has nothing to do with the RESET button. pressing it does NOT solve anything. I have to switch off (or unplug the power cord:-) the board.
Fredrik Åsenius: I've already set the BIOS up to use the AGP slot primarily at booting...
The card is seated properly. There is a little 'thing' at the end of the AGP slot which fixes the card upon plugging in. That 'thing' has to be pushed to release the card.
Maybe I should try to downgrade my BIOS to check whether that solves the problem...

  • Bad video card ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT 2008 early macpro?

I get the green squiggles on the screen when i connect the right hand side dvi port to a monitor. left side is fine. currently only using one dvi port port, but i am looking to upgrade to a apple 30" with the dual-dvi connection for maximum resolution.
does this indicate a possible failure of the video card?
I've only heard good things about this video card, how can i tell for certain?
might'n it be time to put in a newer video card that'd run the 27" Apple LED if that were the case?

After 4 years, my 2008 Mac Pro just experienced a grey screen, then black screen failure with the ATI 2600XT graphics card ... the usual troubleshooting methods pointed to a hardware problem.
Using the info on TS3630 from the link above, I determined the card's serial number was among those affected. I went to the Apple store this weekend, and they swapped the bad card for a good replacement at no cost to me. So, as of Sept. 2012, they are still honoring the replacement program.
Be sure to bring a copy of the tech doc + all your pertinent system info (the store was not aware of the program until I showed them the document). Also, do check in advance whether they have the replacement in stock ... I was lucky that my local store did, otherwise, they have to order and you'll need top make a return trip as they will not ship the replacement card to you.
kudos to Apple for handling this so well after all this time!

  • T60 Video driver

I'm doing a fresh install of XP on a T60 and whenever I download the ATI drivers from Lenovo, I only can install .NET 2.0. This is really frustrating an urgent, please help!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

You can install .NET Framework 2.0 from here
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=0856EACB-4362-4B0D-8EDD-AAB15C5E04F5&displa...
Also, I would recommend you to install only Network drivers first, and then install Windows Update.
The Windows Update might identify your graphic card and automatically provide a driver for you.

  • T40 video driver issues

My ThinkPad T40 recently had some strange scrambled lines across the screen.  They aren't constant and they don't show up when I switch HD's to my Fedora setup.  It only shows up in the XP setup, and it is red on white, blue on black, and various other colors depending on what is underneath it.
When I formatted the drive, thinking it was a corruption in the windows system files, it had gone away, but when I installed the video driver (ATI Radeon 7500) and rebooted the system, the lines had shown up again.  I uninstalled the video driver, and the lines went away, but Window's plug and play didn't let me stay that way for long as it automatically reinstalled the ATI Radeon 7500 driver.  The lines returned upon a reboot of after the drivers were installed.
I took photographs of the issue.

    http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l273/Kasugano/DSCN1836.jpg
Sometimes it changes depending on what is on the screen.  It is not always just collected together; as I write this it is all over the screen in more seperated segments.  Is there an older video driver that isn't listed on the website I could use or is there another solution for this?  Thanks a lot.

Your T40 has a classic GPU problem that these machines are known for, where graphic card starts detaching itself from the rest of the motherboard due to numerous heating/cooling cycles and/or chassis strain. Linux doesn't access the video the same way Windows does, and that's why your distro works fairly normal. However, if you kept on pushing the machine long enough into start/shutdown cycles in Linux, you'd see the same behaviour of the video segment.
Motherboard replacement, or solder re-balling/reflowing in the GPU area are your only long-term choices. Placing a couple of post-it sheets on the GPU itself will act as a band-aid.
    Good luck.
    Cheers,
    George

  • Mac Pro/ Leopard/ Boot Camp/ XP and 2 ATI Radeon XT1900 ????

I recently went surfaced from a hardware nightmare with my Mac Pro. I need 4 monitors on the XP pro/ boot camp side and was unble to do so using an added ATI XT1900 to my Mac Pro. The drivers would not successfully load. Also the added card buggered the original card. After uninstall and some trouble shooting I was able to get back to a functional configuration with 1 card.
Now that Leopard is out with the new boot camp.... does anyone have experience (successful) with 2 video cards (ATI radeon xt1900) in boot camp/ XP pro??? I dont want to go through me last experience as my job depends on the XP/ boot camp working.
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Dan

Correct me if i'm wrong, but the original poster didn't ask or mention anything about Crossfire. (though as a side note, I have read that some people have sucessfully got their 7300gt's into SLI by purchasing a special dongle and downloading a hacked driver.)
And as to whether a user would need two or more monitors for their needs is completely up to the them if it fits their needs, the way i see it the term 'waste' is subjective depending on the user and his/her needs.

  • Windows Won't Read my ATI Radeon HD 2400

    Hello,
First, I'd like to point off that I'm a moron. So, please speak to me like I am one.
So, I'm on my 3rd or 4th Boot Camp installation on this iMac. Meaning, I've had Boot Camp installations for a period of time, and for some reason or another decided to repartition and reinstall.
This time around I've had huge amounts of difficulties, and the only reason I'm doing this is to play a couple games (I hate windows so much).
Usually once Windows is finally installed, Boot Camp Drivers solves all my problems.  But, this time around I've had huge issues with Windows having the correct drivers for my hardware.
My biggest issue right now that I can't seem to solve, windows doesn't see my graphics card? I put a question mark on that because Windows confuses me and I never know what I'm looking at.
I have an ATI Radeon HD 2400 graphics card that came built in to this 2 ghz Intel Dual Core 2 Duo iMac.  I've download the latest ATI 10.2 Legacy driver package, and it says that it doesn't work on my system configuration.
I play a game called League of Legends that says it "can't load direct3d" which is a bad thing I guess. Since I've never had that issue.
I've attached my DXDiag which I just learned how to do today.
Also, I'm running 32bit Windows XP which I just noticed only shows I have 3GB of RAM installed when I have 4GB RAM on my imac.  Will i see a performance issue if I upgrade to 64bit Windows XP?

It isn't a true discreet desktop graphic card. And it is more akin to the mobility.
When you have an All-in-one you have more of a notebook motherboard is all.
    Laptop2go is one place.
Sometimes uninstalling the program and driver, followed by a restart, let Windows detect the hardware and install its driver (can't hurt) then try Laptop2go or AMD Mobility. Whatever works.
XP graphic drivers, not my area, seem messy (so was Vista for first two years). The use of Driver Sweeper use to be considered a must when changning and trying out drivers. A part of finding the best driver for your card and system and games you use.
Windows Vista/7 allow one to rollback a driver to earlier, use restore point, uninstall driver - just don't uninstall the device itself or delete the device.
By uninstalling the Apple Boot Camp driver and program you may then be able to install a proper graphic driver.
And seriously, no joke, I find asking Bing is a great place to start -

  • SB Audigy 2 w/ ATI radeon x800 VPU Cr

Heres the problem, I recently purchased a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Value card, got it installed, got drivers, loaded up a game (WC3), and started playing. Halfway through the game, my computer makes the error sound, closes my game, says VPU recovery message, and my speakers are doing the pop-crackle-screeching noise. I reset my computer to find a "missing NTLDR" error. So I fixed the problem(only way was to reinstall windows), and got all my drivers again, got my computer back to normal with the Audigy2 drivers, I played a song in winamp, then my speakers made a big boom noise and then continualy crackling/popping. So I reset my computer, and I had a hal.dll error. I got that fixed, got windows functioning again, then I decided to try going to Dxdiag>Sound and turned my Hardware Sound Acceleration Level to No acceleration. then I loaded up a game, after playing for a while, it exits the game, has popping again, I restart my computer and lo and behold, another error with hal.dll. Now I have tried so many method to fix this, MANY different drivers, but nothing works, my pc never fails to crash with either hal.dll, or NTldr, or NTdetect, or some other kind of error/missing file. Now im wondering if anyones heard/expiereanced this kind of bull****. Below are my pc specs.
