IBook and app comparison

Thought I'd start this thread as a comparison for the success of my book and app. I just had my book approved today and I am expecting the app version to be approved in the next day or two. I thought i'd put some stats up to show how the downloads of each were going for comparison sake.
The book is a childrens books: The Spider Who Had Never Spun a Web

It is a static book, free to download. My app is the exact same story, but also readable on the iphone. It has a more interaction in that you can touch the background and hear the audio as well as recording your own audio. The app will be £0.99. I thought it would be interesting to see how free downloads of the static book on the iBookstore compare with paid downloads of the app on the app store so I will update this thread with results.

This is really interesting; please keep it up. Do I understand that neither the app nor the iBook has interactive features? If so, I presume that made the app easier to create. Did you do it yourself or hire someone to do it for you? I continue to be intrigued by the idea of turning my iBook into an app, but it has lots of images and interactives. I know I cannot create the app myself, or at least would rather spend my time creating the content than learning how to build apps.

Some images won't load in Safari, iTunes, iBooks and App Store

Since my upgrade to Mavericks, some images on Safari, iTunes, iBooks and App Store wont load some times. I can't figure out the source of problem, but I've tested all four apps and the same problem exists across all of them; I've also tested Chrome, Firefox and Opera to see if they are suffering from the same problem, and surprisingly enough I've found that they are not; They load images perfectly well, and I've never encountered one to not load images. I'm totally confused and frustrated, what is preventing Apple products to load images? Here are some screenshots:

Safari/Preferences/Advanced - enable the Develop menu, then go there and Empty Caches. Quit/reopen Safari and test. Then try Safari/History/Show History and delete all history items. Quit/reopen Safari and test. You can also try try Safari/Clear History and Web Site Data. The down side is it clears all cookies.Doing this may cause some sites to no longer recognize your computer as one that has visited the web site.

TS1424 iTunes iBook and App Store menu show up in French. How do I get it back to English?

Today menus on iTunes iBook and App Store are in French. Need to change back to English, but how?

Follow this procedure:
1. Go to Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID.
2. Tap your Apple ID.
3. Tap View Apple ID.
4. Enter your password.
5. Go to Country/Region in the popup window to change to the desired store.

IPad mini iOS 8.1.1 - iBooks and App Store not opening

Hello everybody,
since the last update (iOS8.1.1) my iPad mini is unable to load iBook and the App Store. Basically, when I try opening them, they remain in the white, initial screen, like if they are loading. I tried to turn it off and on again and nothing changes. Thank you!

I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues with the most recent iOS 8 update. I also apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the exact nature and scope of the issues you are describing. If you are having issues launching multiple apps or services on your iPad after a recent update to iOS 8.1.1, you may want to first try resetting your device:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
If you are still having issues after the reset, you may want to make sure you have a current backup of your data in iTunes, then try restoring your iPad to factory settings and testing it in that default condition to see if the issues persist before restoring the apps or your data. You may find the following article helpful:

Open the App Store app, go to the Featured pane, swipe to the bottom, tap the Apple ID and sign out. Tap again and sign in with the Apple ID of your choosing.

TS1702 I think I deleted iBooks and can't get it back??? When into to App Store it comes up with the open block not download and I touch open and it does nothing!! Anybody have any suggestions?

First quit all apps (Double tap the Home button and swipe the app preview page up) and try a reset: Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons and don’t let go until the screen goes dark and the Apple logo appears (no data will be lost)
Check your Restrictions:
Settings > General > Restrictions
Is it in Settings?
Try deleting from here: Settings > General > Usage > iBooks > Delete App
Then redownload

That sounds great, but I'm lost.
I followed these steps:
1) Open your PDF (in Adobe Acrobat Pro)
2) Chose print
The print/printer options pop-up will show.
3) In the printer section, do not use your normal printer, a printer named Adobe PDF should be an option. Chose it.
4) Under the "Page handling" section, change the Page Scaling drop-down menu to "Multiple pages per sheet".
It works fine, but it looses all of the font information and the search no longer works. How can you do it and save the font info, so the search tool continues to operate.
Am I missing anything?

Safari , App store , Ibook and preview won't work after the last update!

i bought my mac book pro since early 2011
and after i did the last update safari , App store , Ibook and preview won't work
when i press on it the small light on the dock light up then it goes off
and nothing open and there is no error massage show
and the bar don't change, plus about my mac don't open too
firefox and itunes work fine tho

I also deleted Safari and tried to reinstall it from the Apple website but It would not let me install it. I got to "select location" section and it would not allow me to select any of my drives because it said it required10.5.2 or newer. I have 10.5.3. Any Help?

Why do iBooks and Kindle apps close when I open new ebooks?

I downloaded 2 new ebooks and they don't stay open in iBooks, Kindle app, or Safari. They immediately close. When OS 7 upgraded I lost most of my eBooks. Now the new ones won't stay open for more than a few seconds. The books are PDF files 24,000K and are not compressed. Many thanks!

Try force quitting them. Double tap the home button. You'll see the app icons and little preview windows line up. Flick those previews up and off the screen to force close the app. Close as many or as few as you want.
Single tap the home button or tap on the main page preview to exit the mode. See if that helps.

Language and international content on iBook, iTunes and App Store

Hi,
when I try to buy any kind of apps, books, games, etc, the iBook, iTunes and App Store languages change to German, along with the content. I just bought my iPad yesterday, here in Germany, but I'm Dutch and would prefer to see american content, instead of all the translated, German, versions of products I get now. I have tried changing the store language on both my iPad and computer, and synched them, without effect. The only way to get the american content, for me, was to change the place I live to America. That worked fine, until I tried to get something. When I did, I got a message saying that my account was only usable in Germany. Does anyone know how to solve my problem????

In order to have an account in a particular country, you must a) have a valid billing address in that country, b) have a credit card billed to that address or use iTunes gift cards purchased in that country and c) be physically located in that country at the time of purchase. So, unless you actually change where you live to the U.S., you'll need to continue using the German iTunes Store.

I have lost my iBooks and iTunes and iBooks does not load plus I cannot download anything from my app icon.does anyone know what the problem is.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.

Don't know if there is an option make the download window stay up, but you can bring it back with Ctrl+J then right-click on the download to open the folder it was downloaded to.
