Download the iBooks app to iTunes on your computer. Once it's downloaded, go to the Purchased section in the App Store on the iPad, select iBooks and you should be prompted to download a compatible version.

The latest iTunes software wiped out my apps for my 2G iPod Touch by overwriting newer releases of the apps which are not compatible with iOS 4.2.1.  I tried to restore the iPod to an earlier version without success.  Is there any way to download older versions of my apps which are compatible with my older iPod?

Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.

  • Is the Galaxy S4 compatible with IOS 6?

is the Galaxy S4 compatible with IOS 6 or any apple software?

Apple designs and develops their own custom chip sets for iPhones and iPads.
iOS does not support generic phone hardware because of this.
Apple would have to do some major rengineering of iOS to support non-Apple devices.
There is no reason to do this, it would not make them any money and supporting non-Apple devices would be a nightmare.

  • How do I find apps compatible with iOS 5.1.1, specifically Facebook?

I have the iPad 1 and had to restore it but the Facebook app will not load. Says it is not compatible with iOS 5.1.1.

Check with Facebook and see if they maintain the older version on iTunes. I don't believe they do.

need apps compatible with ios 4.2.1

To more easily find compatible apps:
iOSSearch - search the iTunes store for compatible apps.
Apple Club - filter apps by iOS version.
Starting when iOS 7 was released, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)
App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps on iOS - Apple Club
App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.

  • Is ipad 2 compatible with iOS 8.x.x?

    Hi All:
Before i begin updating, i would like to know if anyone can tell me if iPad 2 is compatible with iOS 8?  I also am not sure All i know is that it isn't iOS 8. Thanks in advance to everyone who responds..
    Thanks very much

An iPad 2 only got a few of the new things for iOS7 and even less for iOS8.
While iOS8 is compatible with an iPad2, it does seem to push the limits of that device's hardware specs.
Some have said here that their iPad2 is working better now, others still complain that they have a brick.
My iPad2 us is on iOS7 and that's where it's going to stay. It works fine now, I don't need new apps so I won't run into the 'must have 8 to run' issue
I'm sticking with my 'sure bet' of a device that functions the way I want it to not gambling on the unknown of performance issues with iOS8

Nothing.  The 2nd Gen Touch is OBSOLETE and is WAY past its support life.  If you want to run the newer apps you have to buy a newer iPod.

Yes it is. However, it is at the bottom-end of the compatibility scale and you -may- have performance issues.

  • Is AIR 3.5 compatible with iOS 7?

    title says it all

Using the latest AIR build will be beneficial for your app because it usually comes with updates and less bugs. I'm currently using Adobe AIR 3.7 for iOS and Android games and it has not been an issue with development or during runtime.
About the question on AIR 3.5 being compatible with iOS 7, I think it should not be a problem because AIR is backward compatible. However Adobe recently announced some key features on their Flash Player and Adobe AIR roadmap (with no definate release dates), and one of them does include support for iOS 7.

  • Is iPhoto 9.3 Compatible With iOS 6?

For various reasons I cannot upgrade a MacBook to Mountain Lion yet, but I would like to start using iOS 6 on an iPad, primarily to get access to Photo Stream Sharing in iCloud, which does not seem to otherwise require a Mac.
So a couple of questions ...
Is iPhoto 9.3.x compatible with iOS 6? In other words, if I don't upgrade to Mountain Lion, and continue using iPhoto 9.3.x under Lion, will Photo Streaming continue to work as usual with iOS 6?
Is Mountain Lion and iPhoto 9.4 only required to create and view Photo Stream Sharing Albums on the Mac, but otherwise Photo Streaming itself is unaffected? I know Moutain Lion and iPhoto 9.4 add other things, but I'm only concerned about Photo Streaming.

  • New version of iBooks not compatible with iOs 4.2.1

I wanted to install iBooks on my iPhone 3. The new version, released sep 19th 2012 requires iOs 4.3 which is not compatible with the iPhone 3g. Have I any solution to install a previous version of iBooks?

Nice! This is what we call forced marketing ... I am forced to buy a new iPhone to use an old basic application ... Any idea on which free app I can use to read PDF docs and which is iOs 4.2.1 compatible? Thanks for your help.
