IBook G4 Batteries don't work

My sister got an ibook G4 off ebay with 2 working batteries and 10.4.11. When it came the seller had put leopard but the batteries didn't work. he said that they had worked under tiger, but downgrading didn't help. Is there a fix for this or does it need a new battery?

Rather simplistically, you believed what you have been told by a stranger.
Batteries will not die overnight unless they are already near death.
Tell us what happens when you put the charger on. Does the machine actually work? Clearly if you have reinstalled Tiger. So what does the charging status of the batteries show?
Does it reach 99 or 100%? So what happens when the power is disconnected? Does the Mac immediately hibernate, or do so within 30 minutes or so?
if yes, then take them to an Apple store and see if they can test them, Either way, be prepared to buy new a new battery.
Two shouldn't be necessary unless you are travelling far away form a power source and will be computing for more than 4-6 hours before being able to recharge.
Oh, and if the above pans out, don't forget to contact the seller and tell them the cost of the battery. If a dealer they should offer you a discount refund, so leave carefully worded feedback if you bought by auction.

IBooks pre-purchase don't work

I pre-purchased Guild Wars 2 Sea of Sorrows, and this morning I recieved an email that my pre-purchase was ready for download. The email provided a link to download my pre-purchase". I clicked the link. It opens up my iBooks app, purchased books screen and...nothing. I've tried closing all apps on my phone. Reclicking the link, which gives me the same results. I have tried going to the iBooks store and finding the book I pre-purchased, but it is only listed as a new purchase, meaning I can only buy it again. I click the price button just to see if it maybe will change to, "Oh, you've already bought this, so you can just download it.", but no. I've also ensured that ALL settings in iBooks are turned ON. Everything is up to date. Why is this so complicated/doesn't work? Why do I have to pay $20 dollars for technical support when the $200 device I purchased isn't functioning correctly?

Have you selected / ticked the box in the Inspector.... " Maximise on Tap or Click" ( last icon on right) ??

Battery on brand new iPod touch drains when synced to a mac and now it won't charge. If you're thinking of buying a new iPod touch, don't bother. The batteries don't work.

The battery on my son's brand new 64G iPod touch drained while it was synced yo the mac. Now it says 100% charged when it's connected to a charger, but drops to zero as soon as it's disconnected. It would appear that, either the battery is faulty or the battery indicator is faulty. iPod batteries are not supposed to drain while syncing. And rechargeable batteries are supposed to recharge after they have drained. Maybe I'm missing something simple here, does anyone know what it is?

IPod Hifi: Batteries don't work

I bought some batteries (admittedly not duracell super hi-power), and installed them correctly but I can't get a peep out of the hifi when I disconnect the power cord, only a flashing amber light for about 30 flashes and then nothing.

Your iPod may need service. You can either take it to an Apple store, or file a service request online here;

IBooks hyperlinks don't work anymore

After upgrading iBooks, my proof iBooks have disappeared on the iPad, but even worse, all hyperlinks (opacity 0%) don't work anymore. Is there a solution?

Keys on my Keyboard don't work?!

Ok, be gentle, i have no clue...
For the past day now, *my full stop*, *question mark-forward slash*, and the *letter 'p'* and also my *arrow button's* , and *Cap's lock* button's... DON'T WORK!!!?
And it's driving me mad! (currently i am copy and pasting them all at the moment-which is rather annoying)
is there any way to reset the keyboard? although any such way to make them work is great...
My warranty has just expired in January, and my nearest apple store is a 2 hour drive away so i extremely grateful of any help anyone has!!

what you can do is a SMC reset: shut down, pull the battery & power adapter. Hold the button for 20 secs. Install battery & adapter, power up holding Cmd Option P R until you force the machine to chime 3 times total (30-45 secs between chimes).
If this doesn't work or the PRAM can't be reset, they try an external keyboard.
Only try the next step if you are confortable taking the wireless card & a cover off (4 screws): you can try pulling the keyboard, tap on the edge or blow out with air cleaner to see if there's any junk in there. hardest part is dealing with the airport card.

If it's still not working, then it's likely you'll need a new keyboard.

Safari , App store , Ibook and preview won't work after the last update!

i bought my mac book pro since early 2011
and after i did the last update safari , App store , Ibook and preview won't work
when i press on it the small light on the dock light up then it goes off
and nothing open and there is no error massage show
and the bar don't change, plus about my mac don't open too
firefox and itunes work fine tho

I also deleted Safari and tried to reinstall it from the Apple website but It would not let me install it. I got to "select location" section and it would not allow me to select any of my drives because it said it required10.5.2 or newer. I have 10.5.3. Any Help?

Try resetting the SMC and PRAM. If that does not work, it is probably gone.

Trackball buttons suddenly don't work

I've been using a MS trackball explorer with this iMac G5 since I've had the computer. I also have a MS trackball Optical on my iBook.
Suddenly, the two right buttons on the explorer which I have programmed for 'forward' and 'back' don't work. I tried substituting the trackball explorer and found it had the same problem on the iMac, but both trackballs worked fine on the iBook, which says to me that it's a software problem. The other functions on both trackball work fine.
I have repaired permissions, searched and removed all items for the MS intellipoint, and uninstalled and reinstalled intellipoint. No help.
Can anyone suggest anything to help?

Obtaining new ibook g4 batteries

for how long is it to suspect that apple stores will still stock ibook g4 batteries? How long and how can I store a purchased battery before even using it?
What about third party batteries, are they trustworthy?

I would think that batteries will be available for years to come. The G3 and G4 use the same battery and there are still millions in use.
Lithium ion battery start to deteriorate the day they are made. They last 2-2.5 years whether in use or stored in a cool place. Third party batteries (some of them) are just as good as the OEM battery but some don't have the ability to give the low battery warning.

Under what circumstances? Have you tried a reset? I always worry when people talk about "speakers" - if you are referring to the bottom of the phone, there is only the one.

Be careful with the transfer talk. Keynote for the pad and the mac are slightly different- so make sure the template they plan to sell you will work on the pad, as opposed to a mac.
If you can get it as a file, you can e mail it to your self, or stick it in drobobx and bring it down, or use your normal syncing device.
How are you syncing your pad now, with a PC?
if they are selling it for the pad, they must have a way to get it to you. So spend some time on their website and see if they have some good instructions for you.

New wireless keyboard & volume keys don't work

I just replaced my wireless keyboard because a few of the keys stopped working. Now the volume keys don't work on the new one. When I push them one of them brings up my widgets and the others minimize the screen. Any Ideas?

Put truly fresh batteries in the keyboard.
Un-pair and re-pair the keyboard with the computer.
Attempt the PRAM reset again.
If you do not get the 2 boot chimes then I would suggest you reset using a USB keyboard. Any USB keyboard will do. If you don't get the 2 chimes when using a USB keyboard then either you are not holding down the keys correctly / early enough or there is something wrong with the computer itself.
If you do get the 2 boot chimes you can then go back to the wireless keyboard and re-pair it.

Several tools/utilities don't work after Win7 upgrade

I am working with a Tecra A9 PTS52E laptop which had WinXP running on it.
I recently upgraded to Win7, but not from a Toshiba install disk.
I found a number (not all) drivers for tecra a9/win7 online;
but some things still don't seem to be working correctly.
first of all, I installed the Value Added Package 20100419152838,
but OSD and the Toshiba power manager don't work. Instead win7 keeps telling me my battery is broken (?) Is there a way this can be fixed?
I also had trouble finding Toshiba Disk Creator, and I couldn't make Toshiba Security Assist work properly...

Toshiba Power Saver is not the same application as you know it from the past. It has now limited options and Toshiba power saver options you can find in advanced power settings for power plan you use.
It cannot be installed as single utility. It is part of Toshiba Value Added Package.
This with battery confuses me completely.
Is battery detected by OS?
Can battery be loaded properly?
Can you run notebook on battery power supply?
This with composite battery entry is normal and the same is listed in device manager at my notebook. How many entries do you have in device manager for Batteries?
