IBook Not Allowed in iBookstore
My iBook is not being accepted in the iBookstore. It's a brochure I've created for my company, but now, after 6 weeks of work and publishing it, I find out that marketing materials are not allowed. Is there any way around this? Or is there any other option for me to do with this file so that all of my work wasn't a waste of time?
This is what I wanted to do, but I couldn't figure out how. I realized only a few days ago that I could export the book into an iPad downloadable file, beause I had been looking for a 'save as' function, which doesn't exist (I'm a bit slow, it would seem). But now that I've found the export function all is good. It would still be nice to have my material on the iBookstore, but for now at least I have options.

IBooks not allowing Audiobooks to play in Audio reader App?
Just bought an audiobook from iTunes on my iPhone 4s. It only shows up in iBook. I need to get it to my audioreader app. I've done it before... but not sure why ibooks is the only option now. Normally I download an audiobook from iTunes and my audioreader can see that and puts it right in its library. Now iBooks is "blocking" it? Can anyone help?

I'm in the process of publishing my iBook to the iBookstore however when I try to choose the the file to publish I can view it but the file is faded out not allowing me to select it?
Did you use the Publish menu to export an .ibooks fle?
Check to see if you are trying to mistakenly select an .iba file. -

I understand that there's something wrong with the TOC file (.ncx), but I have tried everything and nothing seems to work. Every section of the TOC is labeled, so not sure why the navLabel issue is happenening.

After digging through .ibooks code for hours and still not seeing the problem, I decided to reach out to one of the Apple epub conversion affiliates in iTunes Connect. They said they could repair the file without a problem, started working on it, only to come back a week later and say they couldn't work on .ibooks or .iba files yet.
So, in complete frustration, I decided to transfer my content page by page from the blank template I downloaded from a vendor online to one of the "textbook" templates in IBA. This was a long process as I had to unlock and clear out the formatting of the template. But, once that was done and content was transferred over, all was good. I submitted/delivered the same content and preview book within the new template and it went right through the first time (all metadata was exactly the same as well).
Now, the iBookstore approval waiting process begins!

I am not allowed to sign in with my Apple ID on iTunes Connect when I am trying to publish my book in iBooks Author. I do not understand why because I have fulfilled the first steps creating an account and informed my IRS tax number...
The recommendation is always to make another ID for use with a paid books account. And while I can't swear this is at the root of your issue, you should in any case reach out to Apple for assistance on this one, I think.

Is there an apple approved agreggator that allows me to publish to the iBookstore ibooks created using iBooks author? I would like to use the interactivity that iBooks Author allows but need an aggregator that supports it. Thank you.

Has anyone been able to upload an ibooks file with audio only files (m4a) in it? I keep getting the following error message during the upload in iTunes Producer: ERROR ITMS-9000: "Files of type audio/x-m4a are not allowed outside of widgets. then it names the file as an m4p file. Everything works beautifully on the iPad through Preview, and validates through iTunes Producer up until the attempted upload. If you've been able to accomplish this, please let me know how you prepared your audio files. Many thanks.

Today I received the same error that you all have been discussing. I tried selecting the DRM
and this did not work for me, though I'm glad it did for some. Here's what I did as a work-around. . .
Since iBooks Author did not have a problem with Videos, I simply used one of my video programs, ScreenFlow to turn the audio into a video file m4v. I added an image and extended the length or timing of the image to span the length of the audio file. Then exported as an .mov. I then opened QuickTime and opened the file and exported the file to iTunes.
You can use iMovie, Camtasia or any other progam that will allow you to export the audio as a movie file. Does this make sense? I hope this helps, at least in the short-term.

I appreciate any help or assistance. I have been trying to update one of my books for for the past few days with no success. I really just need to change two letters. But since I was updating I thought I would make a couple more improvements. I clicked disable portrait and made my pictures a little bigger to fit the whole page. But now I keep getting this error for multiple sound effects throughout the book. ERROR ITMS-9000: "Files of type audio/x-m4a are not allowed outside of widgets: assets/media/chick02.m4p" at Book (MZItmspBookPackage). I did not change the audio. The audio files are placed in widgets. I had no problem the first time it uploaded. I have recreated my whole book from scratch and it still does not work. Does anyone have a suggestion? I don't believe that would make any difference. Drag-and-drop is just a UI shortcut for using the menu items.

No. Each book is a stand-alone entity. It doesn't matter if the same audio file appears in another book.
From what people have reported here, it looks like there is a bug in the submission system. Other than trying the suggestions posted in the linked-to thread, I don't think there is anything you can do to fix it.
I would submit a bug report to Apple though. Quite a lot of people seem to be affected by this problem, and if they hear about the same problem from lots of different sources, that will (presumably) elevate the importance of fixing it.

I'm trying to create a new apple-id but when typing the email adress I want to use I'm told that the particular email adress is not allowed When searching I can't find same being used anywhere. How do I find out where that particular email adress is used so I can delete it there and use it for my new apple-id?
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

If you have Find My iPhone enabled, you can use Remote Wipe to erase the contents of your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode after the device has been erased. -

Table of contents will not allow additions
I am creating a portrait-oriented book. The TOC function is not allowing me to add paragraph styles nor is it automatically picking up the Chapter names. When I click the + symbol on the TOC inspector pane the only option I am given is "Add Section". In Preview my Front matter is properly listed in the TOC but the chapters are not there. What am I missing?

iBooks Author 2.0KT -- Thanks for replying. I'm not sure exactly what you mean but it is all rather moot at this point. I reloaded the chapters into a Landscape template and found the TOC worked just great. The landscape format offers some nice benefits and I can let the reader decide whether he/she wants to read in portrait. Thanks again.

My Ipod touch does not allow to download anything that is free or paid apps on my ipod. even if an app is free it asks for verification which directs me to payment gallery how come this is happening if an app is free it should not charge me it should not go for verification payment info How do I rectify this problem please help as this is frustrating I cannot download anthing from the app store!!!!!!!!
To purchase anything with a normal account requires a valid payment method. Yu can however create a new account that is oly good for app. To do that see:
