  • Imported songs do not appear in library (iTunes 10.0.1)

When I import songs from a CD, the songs are not appearing under Music in iTunes.
The track info is properly displayed for the mounted CD itself and the songs are correctly imported (green checkboxes appear, the MP3 files are placed in the correct folder under "Music/iTunes/iTunes Music", and the MP3 files are playable in Quicktime).
I've tried re-importing the songs in iTunes using the File > Add to Library function, but no luck. This has happened with multiple CDs.
Songs that I have bought through Amazon were successfully imported.
Is this an iTunes 10.0.1 bug? I haven't successfully imported a CD since I upgraded.
Is my library corrupt? Is there a way to rebuild it?
    Thanks for any suggestions.
    Details:
    iTunes 10.0.1
Import settings: MP3 encoder, high quality (160kbps), use error correction

It turns out that this is an identified issue. See the thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2565869&start=0&tstart=0
(I searched for a thread on this topic before posting, honest!)
For what it's worth, the problem with the two CDs I tried importing before I posted this has magically healed itself and I can now see them in the library. No idea why. I haven't yet tried to import more.

  • [iTunes11] New songs not appear in library

    Hi everyone,
With the new itunes 11 I can't see new songs or new movies in my local library (adding from iTunes Store or finder)
I have a macbook unibody with snow leopard.
I found a workaround : disable iTunes Match => new songs (or other itunes files) appear instantly.
I'm very surprised that this bug was'nt fixed before the release of the iTunes 11, am I the only one with this bug ?
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Have a nice day

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that the external list not display the new item button.
When we have created a new external list, by default, the new item button would not appear in the form.
However, we can first create a new item using the new item button in the Ribbon.
Then, after we have created a new item in the external list,
the new item button would display in the form as below.
You can create a new item using the ribbon, then check whether it works.
    Thanks & Regards,

Tried another experiment... went back to iPhoto--> iPhone--> selected an earlier photo (one that did not appear in the aforementioned event) --> Import, selected 'Yes, import anyways even though there is a duplicate'... and then went again to Last Import --> now only one photo to choose from, 'Show Event' and it takes me to an event with this photo, but no others even though, imported previously, were 10 other photos from this particular evening.
Last Import is just that - the last import.  So your last import was one photo, so that's what last import shows.
And the photo is alone in an event because you only imported one. Every import creates at least one new Event - part of the way that iPhoto avoids duplicates overwriting each other. So that experiment shows that iPhoto is working normally.
    As to the core issue:
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • Mp3 version not appearing in library

    Hello
I am using iTunes 11 and I am trying to use the "create mp3 version" option. The process runs and the file is created and saved on my Mac, but it does not appear in the library as it used to in previous versions of iTunes. Has anyone else experienced this or found a solution to this issue?

Do you see it in your Recently Added playlist and do you subscribe to iTunes Match?
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4543259 - delay of several hours (for some people overnight) for new additions to iTunes to appear in the main library window as a result of using iTunes Match.  Things to try:
    1) Turn off Match, see if the items appear, then turn Match on again.
    2) Drag the items from the Recently Added playlist to the library.
    3) Wait until they do appear.

  • Purchased music does not appear in library

I just purchased an album but it does not appear in my library. Thinking I screwed something up went back into store to purchase. When I clicked purchase a pop up said you have already purchased this do you want to purchase again, a pop up said you purchased this already do you want to purchase again? I clicked No. Where is my music?

All purchased items will be put in the "iTUnes Music" folder on the PC where you bought them and then added tot he green "Purchased" playlist.
When you add these files to a new PC/iTUnes library tho, there not automaticly added to the purchased playlist. So first search the itunes main music library for purchased items. If not listed search the PC by going to Start>Search in windows select "Files and folders" (Not music) and in the search field put ".M4P" and search the PC

  • Dowlnloaded music to itunes does not appear in library

I have downloaded several cds to itunes and they show they are downloading but after that they do not appear in the itunes libraries. If I do a search it shows they exist on the computer hard disk but they cannot be accessed nor apparently moved to an itunes library where they then can upload to an ipod. Even erasing them does not then allow them to be reloaded to itunes libraries.
    Thanks for your advise

I had a similar issue.  I realised that the music wasn't on the computer but on the cloud... do you have an iTunes Match account, if so try downloading 1 track to the computer by clicking on the cloud icon in iTunes, then go back into iMovie and see if that track is available.  Hopefully it will be like mine.

  • MP3 files do not appear in Library

I am having a problem with windows media player.  I am running Windows 7 and media player 12.  I have wav recordings of Swing Shift which I have converted to mp3 files and then used a tag editor to fill in the Artist and Album fields.  I included
the folder for the media player to add them to my media library and the first time I started the player they all appeared.  When I closed the media player and restarted they were gone.  I thought the database had gotten corrupted so I stopped the
WMPservice and deleted the data file and then restarted the WMPservice, started the media player and all of the files showed up again.  I stopped the media player and restarted the player and the files were gone.
These files do show in the library on my Windows XP machine running WMP 11.

Open the Windows Media Player Library troubleshooter by clicking the
Start button , and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type
troubleshooter, and then click Troubleshooting. Click
View all, and then click Windows Media Player Library.
This problem can also occur when the Windows Media Player library database get corrupt.
To resolve this problem, clear the Windows Media Player database. To do this, follow these steps:
    a. Exit Windows Media Player.
    b. Click Start, click Run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player, and then click OK.
    c. Select all the files in the folder, and then click Delete on the File menu.
Note You do not have to delete the folders that are in this folder.
    d. Restart Windows Media Player.
Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.
If this does not resolve the problem, clear the Windows Media Player database cache files. To do this, follow these steps:
    a. Exit Windows Media Player.
    b. Click Start, click Run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft, and then click OK.
    c. Select the Media Player folder, and then click Delete on the File menu.
    d. Restart Windows Media Player.
If the above doesn't help then try to
    reset WMP12.
You may need to create a User Account with Administrative privileges and recheck the issue.

  • Media Files do not appear in Library

    Hi,
I am running essentials 2012 r2.  I installed the media streaming pack.  From the server console, and via windows explorer, I copied music, videos, and pictures into the applicable "\serverfolders\" sub-folder (created by windows during
the media streaming pack install).  In the dashboard settings - media tab, I confirmed that those specific folders were set as  "Yes"  for streaming.
However, irrespective of the device I use on the network, the media files are not available to stream.  This includes from windows media player in windows 8.1 machines, where the my essentials 2012 library shows up, but clicking on the library results
in a response of "no files".
Thank you in advance for your help.

    Hi,
Based on your description, I understand that you can find this Digital Media Server (Windows Server 2012 R2
Essentials with Media Pack installed) under Network on client computers. However, you can’t find any music, videos or pictures file via Media Player. If anything I misunderstand, please don’t hesitate to let me know.
Please open Dashboard, navigate to STORAGE tab and select Server Folders. Under Server Folders, please open
Music folder, Videos folder and Pictures folder, then check if those files which you copied exist in those correct folders.
In addition, did you enable RWA (Remote Web Access) on the server? If enabled, please logon RWA and check if
those music, videos or pictures under Media Library in RWA webpage.
If anything I misunderstand or any update, please don’t hesitate to let me know.
    Hope this helps.
    Best regards,
    Justin Gu

  • Songs Not Appearing in Library Correctly

After loading a CD into my library, only two or three appear with song titles/artist names -- the other songs are dumped in a file with simply "track 1", "track 2", etc.  Anyone know what I'm doing wrong and how to correct it?
    Thanks

You will need to Reimport everything back into iTunes after an upgrade. go into your iTunes task bar, click on File and click on Add Folder to Library and go from there.
    Good Luck,

  • Purchases not appearing in library anywhere

I bought Psych season 1 episodes "From Earth to the Starbucks" and "He loves me, he loves me not, he loves me, oops he's dead." At the same time. Since I have a slow internet connection, I let it download over night. The next day, there was not any purchases left in queue. In my Purchased playlist, the first one, "From Earth to the Starbucks", was there, but the other was not. I checked all the other playlists, but it was nowhere to be found. I did the check for purchases multiple times and it said i had nothing left to download. I then updated iTunes and tried again. Then i went the the iTunes store and tried to buy it again, it said I had already downloaded it and if i was sure if i wanted to buy it again.
Is it hiding somewhere? I really do not want to buy it a second time.
    Thanks for the help.

  • Books not appearing in iBooks

In Mavericks, I transferred all of my books from iTunes to iBooks (File > Move Books from iTunes). However, none of the books appear in my bookshelf/library when viewing in iBooks.  I tried buying a new book while in iTunes, it downloaded, but it does not appear in my library either. These books are accessible in iBooks via a search but cannot be seen in the library.
    Any suggestions?

I rebooted my Mac, and now the books appear in the library.

  • IBooks on iPad not reading the library...

After the last upgrade, IBooks doesn't read the Library. The bookshelf appears empty on iPad.
But connecting to iTunes you can see that all the Books and Pdf are there.
Can somebody help me to solve this problem?

    I have found the solution!
Short of it is : if you have a lot of PDF books, let iBooks do its thing for quite a while. I have 152 PDF books (I am scanning away my bookshelves into digital form), so it took about 30 minutes for iBooks on iPad to display them after the update.
So leave your iPad with iBooks running non-stop. Give it an hour if you need to. Your books should appear once the app has generated all the small icons and completed whatever other processes it needs to run before it shows the books on your shelves.
For those of you with time on your hands who want to know, here's the detailed troubleshooting sequence I went through...
I tried the above proposed solution of removing, and reinstalling the iBooks app. Still, my books did not appear on the iPad after synching. Interestingly, my books remained on the iPad after the app's removal. So I did a complete "Restore" of the iPad.
The restore didn't seem to help. On a hunch, I unchecked "Synch Books" under the Books tab. This removed all books. Checked again "Synch Books", all books downloaded back to the iPad. Still, none appeared.
I then checked "Selected Books" and chose only one book. After synch, great! This one showed.
So I checked a dozen more. They eventually showed, but this time it took a couple minutes for them to appear. Aha. I clicked back the "All Books" button. Waited for the download. After the synch, I opened iBooks app, then waited an extra 20 to 30 minutes, and voilà, my books showed again on the library shelves.
So if you have a lot of PDF books, give iBooks ample time to process, and your books should show up again in a while. Hope this helps YOU save time and troubleshooting mojo...
