IBook still turns off after resetting PMU

Hello,
My friend has a got a problem with his iBook G4. It showed no warning when the battery was low, and just turned off when he still had some 12% Battery left. I told him to reset the PMU, and so he did.
Now he does get a warning when his battery is low, but instead of going in "Stand By", the iBook just turns off when there's no power left.
This is quite annoying, because he often loses things he didn't save yet..
Any suggestions ?

Sometimes he gets a warning, but then the computer turns off instead of going in stand by. And sometimes he does get a warning.
Resetting the PMU hasn't helped, he 's still got this problem. It's really annoying, I hope someone has another tip..
His battery is a little over a year old, so I don't think it can have worn out already..

I got a replacement battery, reset the SMC, and my computer will still turn off unexpectedly.

Early 2011 15" Macbook Pro, 2ghz iz, C0*****F8V.
My original battery wore down to the point where it would not be recognized as available and the computer couldn't power on without shutting down in a few minutes. I ordered a replacement battery, certified Apple genuine, but after 3 days it reached about half charge and the computer died, not turning back on without the adapter. When it did reboot the battery was at 0% and not charging, and the computer was incredibly slow and laggy.
I refunded and returned this battery and got a new one. I've had it installed about 2 days and the computer will still turn off if not plugged in at about 80-85%. I have reset my SMC multiple times and my PRAM as well. coconutBattery says nothing is wrong with the battery.
What can I do? I'm a freelance video editor and this is basically calling me out sick from work for a week now.

At any rate, the bottom line is that the MBP does not like your battery even though the output information that you provided does not indicate anything adverse. An Apple battery should correct your problem, I would think, but there is an alternative that I came across yesterday that you might consider. OWC. a Mac oriented vendor, is now selling replacement batteries for MBPs.

Based on the reputation of the company, I personally would be willing to try their non-Apple branded replacement. I have dealt with them a fair amount, so my statement is from experience. Note that is has a 1 year guarantee as do the Apple batteries. ( I will need a replacement for my 2010 MBP and I will probably purchase it from them)

If not then your sleep button is broken, you will need to get it serviced.

Press and hold both the on/off button and the home button and release them both when the apple logo appears. That will reboot the phone. try that.

Yoga display turns off after 1 minute

I'm having an annoying problem with my new Yoga related to the display and have not seen any other posts with a similar complaint so perhaps this is a simple fix that I'm just not able to sort out on my own. My display turns off after 1 minute of inactivity. The only means for changing behavior like this that I am aware of is through the Control Panel Power Options. My settings for "turn off the display" are 10 minutes on battery and Never while plugged in (note screen shot attached). Regardless of my settings, the screen turns off after 1 minute. I've changed the settings to multiple configurations and restarted with no change in behavior. Perhaps there's some other settings area, maybe something specific to Lenovo that I'm not aware of (since this is my first Lenovo laptop). Anyone with similar problems or insight?

This may be a Windows 8 issue. I finally fixed this problem by identifying the screen saver as the issue (and I wasn't using a screen saver). Type "lock the computer" into the search box after clicking the search charm, which brings up the screen saver dialog box. Mine was set to 1 minute, though I'd never set it myself. If you can't change it, choose a screen saver and you should be able to do so (and can then switch back to no screen saver). BUT, here's the problem. Other things you install (or settings within things you install) can apparently change and override whatever you type in for the delay time. Try applying your new time and exiting from the dialog box, then open it back up again. I was finding that it kept going back to 1 minute. To reset things so that you can get control again, type "user accounts" into the search box and when the dialog box comes up, choose "Reset Security Policies". Then you can go back to the screen saver dialog and successfully change the delay time. Try a system reset. It's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.

G5 Turns off after 10 minutes

My iMAC G5 just turns off after about 10 minutes. I had trouble with the power supply a few years ago and I replaced it and everything was great. Now it just turns off after about 10 minutes and I am wondering if the power supply is acting up again. Do these things have a problem like this? It was easy to replace, so I can just do that again if that will fix the problem. But I don't want to just start changing out parts and still have the problem. Is the power supply a problem with this model?

More info on the iMAC. The processor is 1.8 GHz PowerPC G5 the memory is 1 GB DDR SDRAM running Mac OS X Version 10.5.3. Buss speed 600 MHz, Number of CPUs 1. I just took it apart and cleaned the dust out to see if that will help. We will see.

To make sure that this is not software related, set it back to factory settings, without using any backup data afterwards. Set up the rest of the personal settings manually and test the phone. If it still does not work, this is a hardware issue and the phone has to be serviced by Apple or an Authorized Apple Service Provider:

I've tried everything in the article "Troubleshooting iTunes for Windows Vista and Windows 7 video playback performance issues''. Here are my results.
My computer meets the requirements.
All software (Windows, iTunes and QuickTime) are up to date.
As for updating my drivers, I found nothing labeled 'Video'. The closest thing I found in Computer/Manage/Device Manager was to click + next to 'Display Adapters' under that I found 'Intel (R) HD Graphics Family' which I right-cicked. From the menu, instead of 'Properties', I selected 'Update Driver Software...', then I selected 'Search Automatically for updated driver software'. I saw the messages "Searching for Software... Searching online for Software... The best driver software for your device is already installed. Windows has determined the driver software for your device is up to date." I got these same messages when I searched for updated audio drivers.
My computer is already at the highest display resolution. (1366 x 768 recommended) That's as high as my resolution will go. Hmm, I noticed the article's example shows '(1920 x1080 recommended)'. Is my max 1366 x 768 resolution high enough?
As for QuickTime, deselecting 'Enable Direct3D video acceleration' had no effect. Disabling the DirectX entirely (Safe mode (GDI only)) allowed the audio to play, but there was no video, only a black screen.
As for turning on DMA, the only item under 'IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers' is 'Intel Mobile Express Chipset SATA AHCI Controller' So I right-clicked, selected 'Properties'. There's no 'Advanced Settings' tab in there. The tabs are 'General, Drivers, Details, Resources' no 'Advanced Settings' anywhere. So much for that.
'Readyboost' was already set at 'Do not use'.
No 'NVIDIA nForce Serial ATA (SATA) controllers' exist in my computer.
The problem still exists. Please help.
