IBook will not download even though it says it has already downloaded

Hi everyone,
I'm having an issue with a couple of iBooks I have recently downloaded. The iTunes store says that these books have downloaded already, however I cannot open them on my iPhone because it says that they are still downloading. Because I downloaded these books about a day ago, they should have completely downloaded on my phone by now; yet, my phone says there has been no progress in downloading the items. I've tried everything, from restarting and restoring my phone, to deleting the file and then redownloading it but nothing is working. I am having this problem with a couple of iBooks, but not ones that I purchased previously. Anyone have any advice? I'd very much enjoy reading books that I bought...

P.S. I should mention that I have the latest software for iTunes, iBook, and the iPhone, so I don't believe the problem is due to old software.

The File Download window will ask you to Run or Save the iTunes file you are downloading, try choosing each option to see if one works over the other - if you Save it, the iTunesSetup.exe file is saved onto your computer, so look where it is saving to and open the file from there to install iTunes.

    On your Mac you download the latest version through the App Store, not the iTunes Store. The iTunes Store gets you the iOS (mobile) version. The App store gets you the OS X (Mac) version. They are two separate apps.

    I use W7 Ultimate, 64 bit, and IE 8. Whenever I try to watch video a message says I  need to upgrade Flash Player and gives me a link to version 10.l
    I uninstalled version 10.0.32.18, then downloaded and installed version 10.l. A message says the installation was successful. However, I still get the same message and link whenever I try to watch video. I tried repeatedly with the same results. Each time Update Checker identifies the installed version as 10.0.32.18 even though an Adobe message says the installation of v.10.1 was successful.
    Can anyone help?

    I got rid of Update Notifier, and I use Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro but am not a developer.
    I honestly thought I was following all your instructions to the letter. I skipped some steps in my last post, but here is everything I really did.
    I used the Administrator account, closed all applications, set the Internet security to Medium, put *.adobe.com in Trusted sites and set Internet security to low for it, removed real time protection for my antivirus, used Advanced Settings to disable the firewall, downloaded the Flash Player installer and uninstaller to the Desktop, disconnected the Internet, and closed all browsers.
    The uninstaller was then run. Then the installer was run. The computer was booted . It was then rebooted. The insaller was run again. The computer was rebooted. The Internet was connected.
    Please look over each step and if I'm skipping something I'll add it before trying again.

    Hi gb, I think that you are relying on this Update checker too much. Early on, you confirmed what Flash files were installed. What the Update Checker reports is not correct, sorry. The proof in the pudding is what Flash Player files are Installed.
    In Post#2, you had the correct Flash files Installed, regardless of what the Update Checker said. I can't use the Update Checker as the Standard on whether you have Flash Player Installed or not and you shouldn't either. This is getting too confusing.
    The only issue you had was the Shockwave Flash Object did not Install and I posted the reasons in Post#6.
    There is a procedure to Uninstall Flash Player and to Install Flash Player and it appears that you are relying on other programs to dictate.
    Also I have never heard of anyone using the Adobe Update Manager for Flash Player. Perhaps you should read up on it and see if you really need it.
    Are you a Developer? My suggestion would be to take a look in Programs and Features via Control Panel and see if all of the Adobe Programs you have Installed are needed. Then check your IE add ons for the same.
    My Post# 6 still stands. Until that is corrected, there is nothing more that can be done. That Update Checker, does is have a website? If it is identifying those 2 files as Flash Player files, then I know I wouldn't be using it and you shouldn't either.

    I was not complete clear.
    Since you never changed the settings in the advanced section of iTunes preferecnes, you have to chech that your music is really in the location setted in the folders reported in the advanced section.  If not you have 2 ways: reset the position of this folders or in the actual disk organisation or in the pointing on the preferences.
    If you press the reset button you just give to itunes its default setting as for the position of the music files: probably this will be a good choice if you have never changed any default preference.
    But before I would check the folders and see if the songs are really there

    Is your payment information current for your Apple ID?  Even though updates are free, your account may not allow updates if it has an issue like an expired credit card, or an updated password that you have not yet entered into the device's iTunes Store account settings.

    Have you tried clearing Safari? Clear Safari, close Safari completely and reboot your iPad. Try again.
    Go to Settings>Safari>Cookies and Data.
    If you are running iOS 5 or iOS 6 you close apps like this. Tap the home button once. Then tap the home button twice and the recents tray will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button twice.
    If you are running iOS 7, you close apps this way. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
    Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

    It is trying to update, but will not download. It is not paused, and it cannot be deleted. It is shaded--lighter in color, and I can't open it from the home screen, but it will open a PDF from my email, etc. very frustrating. I am working on an iPad 1, which will not update to iOS 6, and the app says that it has updates for iOS 6, but there is no way to get it out of the "stuck" condition. Any suggestions?

    You can reset all of the settings on your Apple TV to factory values.

    The original author isn't clear whether he means the ibooks app or a purchased iBook. I have purchased an iBook from the iBook store, and while I can download it to my mac, I can't download it to my ipad. You suggest syncing between the two, which sounds reasonable, but how do you do this? iBooks doesn't work like iTunes does.

  • Canon printer not printing even though query says "printing"

    I am having problem setting up my printer (Canon MF4350d) with Mac.
    I installed the printer by using the disc provided with the printer. Everything went fine. When I try to "print" I see the printing query, and it even says x% is sent over and such. But… when in fact, nothing is actually being printed out at all.
    I looked at the following setting:
    Printer & Fax -> Option & Supplies -> under the tab "Driver" I have Generic PCL Laser Printer selected because my printer model is not on the list. I don't know if that might be the reason…
    My printer says Canon MF4320-4350
    I have Mac OS 10.6 Snow Leopard
    I looked up in the other thread (Click here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=12440612#12440612)
    I don't see the UFR2 folder under Canon :/
    Please help.

    This will be the reason. The MF4350 does not support the PCL or Postscript printing languages. You need to use the proprietary Canon UFRII driver. Delete this print queue as it will not work.

    Then this would indicate that you have not installed the Canon UFRII driver. Rather than using the provided disc I suggest you download the UFRII driver from the [Canon web site|http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printersmultifunction/imageclass_series/imageclassmf4350d#DriversAndSoftware]. After you download and unpack the file you can run the installer which will create the UFR2 folder under the Canon folder.
    Once the UFR2 driver has been installed you can then select to add the printer, this time ensuring the Print Using menu shows the MF4350. Note that when you do select the printer you will get a prompt stating that the driver is not installed. Ignore that and open the Print Using menu and click 'Select printer software'. This will present a list of installed drivers and a search window. Type MF43 and you will see the MF4350 UFRII driver in the list. Select it and OK and then click Add to complete the new print queue creation. Now try printing - this should get a lot further than the previous Generic PCL.

  • Clips will not relink even though they're there

    FCPX on a Macbook Pro, media on a thunderbolt raid drive.
    I have a project using several different events to refer to and there are the clips in red with the yellow triangle warning sign on them.  The ones that had the missing files designation have been reconnected successfully.  The ones that were missing proxy files have had that done as well.  Now there are clips that are red, with the yellow warning triangle, and can not be reconnected.  I control click on clip in the project and it does refer back to the clip in the event.  I control click onto the clip in the event, select reveal in finder and it does refer back to the proxy media in the finder.  That proxy media has the original file back in the Originals folder.  So all of the files are there but FCPX can't seem to recognize it.
    One more tidbit:  In the project when I hit play the audio, which is part of the video clip, plays just fine, there is not video playing.  I have drag and dropped clips, that I re imported, onto the missing file in the project and that seems to work but I want to know what happened and how it became such a huge mess.  It seems the only file that have this strange missing video behaviour are the ones that I have in use in the project.  Event files not in the project seem to be fine.
    Any clues would save me hours and hours.  Thanks.

    There are many nasty bugs in regards to relinking media files in FCPx. Many things that have not been explored properly. (Normal for such a new software).... It would help (me) a great deal if were to describe the EXACT steps you took DURING relinking. And WHY you had to relink....
    Without that it is more or less impossible to help you. I would have to guess. What you are experiencing is most likely a BUG (not necessarily though) and if you can provide detailed info about your steps to achieving the problem then you should post it here as well as sending it to FCPx Feedback. They (Apple) REALLY listens to it and they are really forthcoming in trying to solve problems.
    General Rules for Relinking
    1) DONT EVER relink while you are in Proxy Mode
    2) If after relinking you are experiencing "Funny Stuff" >>> Temporarily move the contents of "Transcoded Media" of the event library in question outside of the event library... QUIT FCPx first... Then restart FCPx to check if the problem is gone. After than PUT BACK the contents.
    IF you have had FCPx create high quality media for you, then after relinking you MUST CREATE it again(If you were relinking original media). Unless the file you are re-linking to is PR 422.
    3) If other problems arise > Select the Event and from the File Menu "Delete Event Render Files" ALL
    I had one instance where my employee had stabilized a few clips in After Effects... He knew no better and saved all his After Effects files i.e. MVI_9889.aep (Which is merely the project) into "Transcoded Media/High Quality Media"  after doing so... FCPx thought that those .aep were movies (Even though he never added them to the event library) and displayed them with a RED icon stating that FCPx did not have the necessary plug-in to playback the movie....
    Just one example of weird stuff going on with the media management....
    Rule of thum.... DONT (unless no way out) mess witht ANYTHING inside the Projects or Events from the Finder.... ALWAYS do SUCH from within FCPx.
    And if you find any anomalies - report step by step to FCPx Feedback what happens... So that we can get rid of those bugs
    PS - another problem is when FCPx has created High Quality Media for you.... When you select YOUR clip in the event browser. You are actually selecting a PR422 files that FCPx created for you. If you re-link THAT file to another file, FCPx wont actully delete the PR422 file. And I have had numerous issues where it (FCPx) would get confused afterwards. And still USE the original PR422 file.. Just because it was there. I had to quit FCPx and physically delete the file via the Finder for FCPx to actully use the clip I had re-linked to....
    I take that FCPx uses UUID (Unique User IDs) for each file... Becuase if you quit FCPx and swap one file that it is using with an exact copy of itself, FCPx will still throw a "Missing Media" icon. UUIDs are great in some scenarios and killers in others.
