Ibook will not let me set up computer

When i turn the computer on the startup video plays the the registration begins. When it gets to "how do you connect" I select my wireless network, click continue. The button grays out and the only option is to go back! I dont know what to do

After trying and trying i turned to google and i found this--
Hold down Command-S at startup to enter single-user mode
at the command prompt, enter the following
fsck -y (to check disk)
mount -uw / (to mount hard drive as writable)
nicl -raw /var/db/netinfo/local.nidb -create /users/root passwd
(to enable a root user with no password)
touch /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
(to fool Setup Assistant into thinking it has been
run)
exit (to continue booting normally)
Then log in with "root" as username and leave the password blank. Go to system preferences and create a new user.
This worked for me, but thank you so much for trying!

In iTunes, do Store->View my AppleID
Click "Deuthorize ALL"
Then, on any computers you still have, do Store->Authorize this computer. If there are less than 5, you will have no problem.
You can only do "deauthorize all" once a year, so in the future, if you ever throw a computer away, remember do to "Store->Deauthorize this computer" first.

WRT54G V8 will not let me set wireless security

I'm attempting to do a manual setup of a WRT54G V8 (i.e. not using "SES" or the windows-based setup program). However, when I go to the "Wireless Security" tab, it refuses to let me select anything other than "Disabled" for the security mode setting. Any other option will just set the pulldown back to "Disabled". Any suggestions? No other settings seem to affect this.

As you are able to access the routers set up page ….click on “Administration” tab…..click on “Firmware upgrade”
Download the latest firmware version 8.00.02 from http://linksys.com/downlad ….upgrade the firmware …reset & reconfigure the router.

PhotoStream: it will not let me set it up to on my iMac

After using my iPad 2 and iPhone 4s I thought I'd replace my Windows 7 PC and get an iMac 21.5,
which I did and have been mostly happy with it. However, the Photo Stream in iPhoto did not show my photos from the other
two mobile devices.
After much trying to get it to work, and reading many helps, I decided to remove all photos from both mobile devices as it appeared
that the Mac needed to be the source of the photos. It took a lot of time making sure precious photos weren't deleted but I did it.
I turned off iCloud on all of the devices, then turned on iCloud on the Mac.. FIRST, then did so on the other two, then turned on
Photo Stream in the same order.
Viola!   NOTHING... I still have all the photos in my iPhoto library in photos and events, and albums.... but I can't get any photos
to 'hold' in Photo Stream in iPhoto.... I must be missing something VERY simple, I can follow directions (usually - trying to keep
my humor that's about depleated).... why does this have to be so difficult?
The next thing I guess I'll do is remove ALL photos from iPhoto and then add them back.

Well, I have egg on my face.....   I thought I had clicked on each of the items on the left last night and none had the verify available. But I just tried again, not wanting to miss anything, and the verify disk permissions was available to me for the Macintosh HD on the 2nd line, and clicked on it. There were differs listed and I've selected repair permissions. Now the permissions repair is complete.
I've attempted to add a photo to photo stream and nothing. It says it's uploading 1 photo but it didn't load, the top left corner no longer says uploading 1 photo, it says No photos.
I just hovered the mouse over the WEB tab and Hide is the only thing that appears.
So, I've made a rational decision - ranting has stopped. It doesn't work for me or I've done something incorrectly in the progression of setting it up and will abandon the iPhoto/photostream program on the iMac. As I've continued to read many, MANY others have lots of issues with the combination, so I don't feel as horrible as I did in past days.
The photo stream is working between my mobile devices, so I'll leave it at that. For the Mac, I'll do as I've done this week... I'll separately load the photos I want to store on my portable backup manually.

Area Type Options window will not let me set a size value above 13.888 in.

Whenever I try to set an Area Type object to larger than 13.888 inches in the Area Type Options window, I'm told that the Value must be between 0 in and 13.888 in. This corresponds to 1,000 pixels.
I have a 24" circle that I am typing in and every time I change the Inset Spacing or Columns it will shrink my shape. I need to be able to change the width and hight options to 24".
Any one know why I can not change this above 13.888?

That is a good workaround for my current project, however it is a strange limitation. I would still like to know for future uses if there is a way to alter this setting.

Stream 7 (win) will not let me set it up. Did I get a used machine?

Hi. I unboxed my Stream 7 (win), plugged it in to charge like the instructions said, returned four hours later to find a colorful screen with the wrong time (example: 11:52 when it is actually 4:54 pm). There is no set-up function like the instructions say (I also looked at a tutorial online - this is nothing like the tutorial). Instead I get a blue screen with a blank log-in saying "other user" and no virtual keyboard to enter any data. What gives? Did I receive a used tablet? Seriously, I'm not even to number 3 on the instructions. I attempted to restore the original factory settings but the machine said it was unable to do so. This is not the user experience I was expecting.

If holding the volume down button while powering on and pressing F11 for System Recovery does not work, you might try running the battery all the way down (or unplugging the battery) to reset the CMOS. More detail is here. I have seen that fix System Recovery and assorted startup problems. If that does not work, you might just return it for a replacement.

but I am not worried about any music on my ipod touch, I have not even ever purchased a song from itunes, but only copied my own personal music cds.

Try going into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > select the account > account name , tap on SMTP (under the 'Outgoing Mail Server' heading) and then tap on your Primary Server and try entering your email account and password and see if it then works

HT1420 ITunes will NOT let me authorize my computer.

I only have 3 computers authorized and I'm trying to authorize a 4th computer. Every time I try to authorize the 4th computer it tells me I already have 5 computers authorized. I'm running Windows 8.1 and ITunes version 11.3. I originally had 5 computers authorized but I deauthorized 2 of them to try to get my new computer authorized. When I go to my account in ITunes it only shows that 3 computers are authorized but it keeps telling me I have 5 computer authorize when I try to authorize my new computer. HELP!

Yes, I was aware of this but the phrase "Any items imported from audio CDs or acquired from other sources will not copy from your device to the iTunes library." is what worries me. Will this eliminate my Notes, Calendar Events, etc or will it apply mostly just to the music?
