since upgrading phone to iOS 5. I have an old macbook pro and it is running snow leopard OS 10.6.8. I have a minimum of 40 recurring events per week, several of which change. I use the information to schedule future appointments based on those changes and it's causeing a major problem to not have the changes sync. Any help would be very much appreciated.
Did you try to replace the calendar info on the phone with the one on your Mac? You can find this option in iTunes/Info pane, Advanced section.

Ipad2 will not sync since updating to ios7.
I can't get my ipad2 to sync with itunes 11 since updating to ios7. It always gets stuck at "Waiting for changes to be applied." I've tried only syncing a few songs at a time, unchecking, the "sync only checked items" option, and other things I've seen on discussion threads. Now it's cancelling the sync before it finishes. Any help please?

My iphone 4 will not sync after upgrading to ios7
After upgrading my iphone 4 to ios7, I cannot sync with itunes. It either goes through 4 steps and then "canceling sync" or it hangs up on "waiting for files to transfer" and never gets past that. I tried some suggestions in other support articles. I synced with itunes in safe mode. I reset the phone and did a restore. Nothing seems to help. I upgraded to 7.0.2 but no changes. Please Help!
No offence, but as with quite a few others, my Iphone stopped charging on mains after iOS 7.0.4 update too.
Not sure you can categorically advise that "it simply is not a software issue" when so many different people are having the same symptoms after updating their iOS Just have a quick Google!
Luckily my (original Apple) cable will still allow recharging via USB to a laptop. So, process of elimination would point to a bricked charger that was working faultlessly up until the iOS 7.0.4 update was applied. Seems quite a stretch to be a coincidence.
Look forward to an explanation ..... and an update? ...... -
My IBooks will not sync PDF content with my IPhone. It syncs the collection title but no content. Both devices are set to sync collections? Any ideas how to fix this?
The 'sync collections' setting does not copy books or PDFs between devices - all it does is if you have the book on both devices and you move it into a collection on one of them, then it will be put into the same collection on the other device.
You will need to sync each PDF that you want on your phone. If you don't currently have them on your computer then connect your iPad to your computer's iTunes and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases to copy them over (that should copy PDFs and/or epubs that are in the iBooks app, not just actual ibooks), and if using a Mac with Mavericks on it do File > Move Books From iTunes in the iBooks app on it, and you can then sync them to your iPhone. -

Have you informed Apple of your problem?
Yosemite sometimes has problems, often related to "default" permissions needing to be changed

Iphone will not back up to cloud or computer nor will it sync since I installed ios7
I installed ios7 on my iphone 4 on September 17 and I can't back up or sync to my itunes account or the cloud. If I don't back up within 180 days Apple dumps my info. Please help. I have tried changing the cord, port, and computer without luck. I have tried backing up to the cloud from the phone, deleting the accound from the phone and reinstalling it, turning it off and on again. Anyone have any new suggestions?
I have the latest version of itunes. Sync session will not start. As I said my phone will not sync or backup to the cloud or itunes since I loaded ios7. Also apps like gps, audible, and podcast crash on opening. My phone is an expensive piece of crap since the update.

IPod Classic will not sync since installed iTunes 11
iPod Classic will not sync properly since installed new iTunes. Always stops at or around song 2 and just hangs there, even if left all night. Tried restoring the iPod, made no difference. Tried syncing just some songs, sometimes it will do 20 or so but not more than that - and I have 10,000 songs.
Saw something about problem with Winsock and reset that but no effect.
Recently been re-recording CDs in Apple Lossless with 'Convert to AAC' selected for iPod. Maybe the conversion process is causing the block? But it did not before.
I also tried moving the itunes material from the Synology NAS to the PC as I thought the processing power might be the problem. It synced once after that, now it is blocked again. Tonight I tried selecting only the original AAC files and it seems to have worked for them, my problem therefore seems to be the Apple Lossless - unless the syncing of AAC files is another one-off.
Not for the first time I wish I had not updated iTunes because it so often leads to problems of some kind. Why do they not care?
AnyUpdate: following successful sync of AAC files, I changed the setting to 'manual' for music & videos, used the View menu to restore the old sidebar, and manually added the Lossless files to the IPod. That actually seems to be working (very slowly). But it would be better if Sync worked as it should.

PDF loaded into iBooks will not sync back to iTunes
I accessed a PDF on the web from Safari on my iPhone 4s, then opened it in iBooks. Then I connected the iPhone to my iMac and synced with iTunes. I was expecting the new PDF to sync back to my iTunes, but that did not happen.
Am I to assume that PDF files loaded into iBooks on my iPhone or iPad will NOT sync back to iTunes?
-ThanksIt was VERY difficut, but I finally did it!
First I was annoyed because I couldn't get the PDFs to show in my iTunes Library. As near as I can tell, performing a backup of my iPad did that. In the past 'Transfer Purchases' did the job.
What nearly drove me bonkers was getting the content of my iBooks Library to sync to the device. There was just no way to do it. Not my PDFs and not even the purchased books! I tried to get the Library on the left and my iPad on the right so I could drag and drop. NOPE.
I played around a while and finally got both to show on the screen so I could drag and drop. STUPID
What I think worked for me: I started in Music Library and clicked on the +Add to icon on the top right. This pulled up my iPad for drag and drop. Then I switched the button on the top left from 'music' to 'books'. Finally I could remove or add my content to iBooks.
It worked perfectly before, why did they change it!
The music App makes me drag and drop, which I never had to do before. All I had to do was check or uncheck songs in a playlist and sync the playlist.
Apps works fine, no complaints.
Podcasts, another fine mess...
I noticed Video was fixed when I went back in.
Oh, the kicker, my iTunes is not responding today. -
Reader not syncing since upgrade to MountainLion on Mac
I recently installed Mountain Lion (OSX 10.8.3) onto my Mac. Ever since the upgrade, Reader for Mac freezes whenever I try to sync my Sony reader. I review books for a living and all of my assignments are given as e-books, so I rely exclusively on my sony reader to do my job, meaning that not being able to use it is a huge issue which is relatively urgent.
When I try to either sync or simply add a single book to my ereader from my Reader library, the "Sync Progress" window comes up as if it was syncing and says "Sync in Progress" followed by a bar that is supposed to show progress (which stays at zero) and then says: "Preparing books... Do not disconnect" It will not progress beyond this, no matter how long I give it (I have left it plugged in with my laptop open for hours and even over night hoping it just needed time to sync, but it doesn't work). If I hit the "stop" button on the Sync Progress" window, it says "Stopping...Please wait" but similarly stays stuck and won't allow me to do anything.
Once I try to sync it, I can no longer do anything else in the program, including quitting it or ejecting the book. The only option I have is to force quit the program (which I cannot do from the icon in the dock, and can only do from the apple icon in the top left).
My reader s a PSR300 and I actually have two different readers of the same model, so I am certain that it is not a problem with the reader itself, as I have tried it on both. I have also ensured that my software is up to date. I never had this issue before upgrading my OS.
Please help!Hello jackrad,
And good afternoon! My recommendation would be to visit our esupport page for troubleshooting. You can by using this link: https://us.en.kb.sony.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/31240/c/65,66/p/73878,73904,73905/. It will bring you directly to the troubleshooting that you need for your Reader. Let me know if this doesn't work.
Or if my post answers your question, please mark it as "Accept as Solution"
Thanks! -
IPhoto will not open since upgrading to OSX 10.8
Hi, has anyone come across this since upgrading to Mountain Lion. iPhoto will not open and I get the below error message. I was previously on OSX 10.6 with all updates applied to the OS. I upgrade the iPhoto app under iLife 11 on OSX 10.6 and it worked fine. Since I upgrade to the new Mountain Lion OS, iPhoto will not open. I tried to rebuild the library using the command and option (alt) key but it will not give me the option to rebuild. Should I attempt to delete the application and reinstall? Any assistance would be gratefully received. Many thanks.

IBooks will not sync with iPhone 4
My iBooks epub books sync flawlessly with my iPad and my previous iPhone 3GS, but when I just upgraded and tried to transfer everything over, everything was the same except for the iBooks. No books show up on the iBooks on iPhone 4 now even though when hooked up to iTunes it shows .25 Gigs of iBooks should be on the phone. I have restored my phone twice with no avail. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Mark,
I believe you can sync your photos by using iTunes and selecting the photos.
Also, if you have PhotoStream the photos should sync. -
Flash plugin will not install since upgrading Firefox
Since upgrading to the latest version of Firefox, my Flash plug-in no longer works and after repeated attempts to download and install (both the manual Flash installer, and by visiting pages like Youtube which prompt installation) nothing is working. It's a frustrating loop that gets me nowhere and I've spent hours now uninstalling Flash, uninstalling Firefox, reading through forums etc. and I am getting no help aside from some suggestions to just give up and use Chrome, which is working with Flash just as well as it ever did. I can't understand why it seems like many people are facing this issue, yet there is no apparent fix to be found.
1.Download the Flash setup file from here:
[http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe Adobe Flash - Plugin version].
Save it to your Desktop.
2. Close Firefox using File > Exit
then check the Task Manager > Processes tab to make sure '''firefox.exe''' is closed,
{XP: Ctrl+Alt+Del, Vista: Shift+Ctrl+ESC = Processes tab}
3. Then run the Flash setup file from your Desktop.
* On Vista and Windows 7 you may need to run the plugin installer as Administrator by starting the installer via the right-click context menu if you do not get an UAC prompt to ask for permission to continue (i.e nothing seems to happen).
See this:
