Ibook wont sync with ipad says it cannot locate information

Purchased an audio book on itunes.
Ipad crashed and restored to factory settings.
Didnt have ipad backed up to computer or icloud.
Purchased new laptop cannot down load audi book from itune account says information wasnt found.
Asks to locate but this starts a search on computer.

You will need to try contacting iTunes Support and see if they will grant you a redownload of it - music is different, in a lot of countries you are able to redownload them (as long as the rights-holder doesn't remove them), but audiobooks are supplied to Apple by audible.com, and I assume that it's them that are requiring the one-time only download.
In terms of backing up you should copy any item that you download from the stores on your iPad (and whilst they are still on your iPad) over to your computer's iTunes library, which you can do via the File > Devices > Transfer Purchases menu option
You can then take your own back copy of them - you are only guaranteed one download of any item from the store, even for apps and music the rights-holder could remove them from the store at any time, so you shouldn't rely on being to redownload any item.
I backup to both the cloud and to my computer's iTunes, but it's personal choice.

    Okay so I just recently tried to sync my iPad mini with my windows 7 laptop and it simply wont work. I have tried to uninstall the apple driver and reinstall it (didn't work). I reset all the settings on my iPad (didn't work). I tried to unselect "entire library" and then select specific playlists to sync (didn't work). My iTunes recognizes the iPad mini perfectly fine, even when I click on "on this ipad" the newer songs are displayed but when i check the actual iPad the new music is not on it. I would really prefer to avoid resetting the entire ipad because i do use it mainly for gaming and would hate to lose my save data. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks :-D

    My iPad refuses to sync. iTunes tells me it's backing up, and the progress bar starts to move then after about 5-10 minutes the iPad turns itself off and back on again many times. I have to disconnect. I can restore the iPod and put it back to the last time it backed up; but then the next time I try to sync it it goes through this loop again. Any ideas?

    Don't backup from a restore. There's something in those files (most likely an app) that causing the problem.
    Re sync again, sync as new but don't sync any apps, just the other content like music, photos, etc. If the iPad functions ok after the sync, then re sync 3 apps at a time until you find the culprit.
    Go to iTunes / Preferences - Devices. Remove any backups there. When the iPad is stable, then create a backup.

    I had an iphone4 which i synced before i converted to the new iphone 5.
    When the iphone 5 has switched over i only have information from may 2012 which is before i changed over to icloud and was my last manual back up.
    How do i get the info from my icloud on to my new iphone 5?

    im not sure what you mean by you second statement. when i open those application on my macbook its on my macbook but when i sign into icloud. i have those option selected.
    maybe my problem is im using the wrong ID...... lol.
    is there away you can delete or change icloud accounts/ ID's???

  • Since upgrading to Maverick Ical wont sync on ipad and iphone 4

    iCal (7.0) wont sync with iPad (7.1) or iPhone (7.1) since upgrading to Maverick (10.9.2). I noticed iTunes (11.1.5) no longer has the 'info' tab I used to go to for settings. How do I sync my Mac, iPad and iPhone with iCal and Address book?

    For some of us, the additional problem is that once you give in and go iCloud, no rep will tell you there are iCloud limits on iCal's size, so that if you're calendar is say 10 years old, with 10 events per day, and there's a 25K event limit, it won't work, even if you buy all the storage in the world. Which means that's syncing is OVER.
    So far I've tried three alt calendars: Fantastical (rated one of the top iCal alts); Pocket Informant (allegedly capable of superpowers); and Calendars. Not a single one is able to do the one simple task of
    1) integrating an ical ics file,
    2) placing a calendar program on the desktop and the iPhone
    3) keeping them both in sync.
    This is really getting to annoy me. Chelsea, a tech support supervisor, offered that if I pay $99/year I can become a developer and get the next beta iTunes which will allegedly offer local syncing. Great.

    If you are talking about the passcode that gains access to the iPad - you will have to restore your iPad in order to unlock it. You will want to use the last computer that you synced with so that you can recover all of your app data, settings, etc. this explains how to restore the iPad. At the end of the process restore from your backup as described.

    IF - you are talking about a restrictions pass code that you put on the device to restrict content or downloading apps or something like that - you do not want to restore from the backup - because that backup will contain the passcode that you cannot remember and you will end up where you started.

    My Outlook Calender wont sync with iCloud/iPad/iPhone? despite doing everything as per the support page. I keep on clicking the Add in but it wont "take"?

    This step is not clear:

    The link takes me to an Apple page but which has nothing to do with ports.  And there is nothing to explain what it is I am looking for, how to look for it, and how to change it if needed.
    Also, this step:

    iCloud automatically set up a "[email protected]...." account for me so I see that one plus my original email used to open my Apple account.  And the apple products show my settings under both identities.
    Make sure the iCloud Outlook Add-in is active within Outlook
    This add-in is disabled because it doesn't allow Outlook to function properly.

    I get songs once in a while that are saved in a weird format of mp3 and won't convert properly to apple audio format. I turn those files into aifs first and then convert to apple audio. I don't know why but this seems to eliminate this problem for me when it pops up.

    If there is no iDVD on Your Mac (and it's not on newer Macs as Apple discarded it) then You need a program that can do this.
    Your Mac can burn CDs and DVDs - BUT DVD as Data-DVDs not as Video-DVDs - they need a program to be encoded and STRUCTURED as such.
    • iDVD is part of the boxed version of iLife'11 and can only be bought outside Apple as on Amazon and e-bay
    • DVD Studio pro - Part of FinalCut Studio Pro bundle - this to has expired and can only be bought second handed. (High price and tough learning Curve - but best ever done.)
    • Roxio Toast™ - Not as elegant as iDVD - but has many other positive additions (I like it as 10-Pro incl BD-component) (now version 11)
    • Burn - only free alternative I know of on internet. Very simple - Just for doing a plain Video-DVD

    You can only sync with one ITunes library. It you switch iTunes library iTunes will erase the iPod and replace it contents with what is in the library of the new computer.

    When you click on the WiFi network name, have you also provided the password for accessing the network?  You should get a dialogue box asking you for the security information the first time you connect.
    If you are not able to connect, you might want to go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings.
    Then go back to Settings > WiFi and select your network name again and make sure the security information is now entered correctly.
    If you still cannot connect, power down the router, wait a few minutes, power up the router, with the iPad powered down the whole time, and after the router has had several minutes to stabilize power up the iPad.  See if it now connects correctly.
