IBooks and PDF default page colours
Hi there,
I was wondering if you can change the page colour of a PDF in iBooks? The default colour is white with black text. Can you change the page default colour to say yellow with black text at all?

but need to do this for a number of sites I manage.
Up to the installation of XP SP3 on my system the other day,
all seemed to work fine using <embed> inside <object>
to cater for IE and other browsers. Suddenly FireFox and Netscape
won't respond to the old code and I link this to my installation of
XP SP3. My escape route has been to add a manual link to the PDF to
cater for no-shows.
Has anyone else encountered this?

I heard that ibooks allow embedded audio and video contents in new version. I have PDF embed audio, Does ibooks support this type ?
iBooks has specific guideslines for how audio and video are included in an EPUB file.

some PDFs which are displayed in iTunes (and work correctly in iTunes) are shown on the iPad as blank sheets - i think it is a problem of ibooks

Will ibooks sync a pdf I save on the iPad or iPhone to iBooks on my Mac?
Not a purchase throught he store?If you connect your iPad or iPhone to your Mac and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases then they should copy over (Transfer Purchases should copy PDFs and epubs that are in the iBooks app on the device, not just actual ibooks) - in iBooks on your Mac you might then need to to do File > Move Books From iTunes to move them over to it.

How to Edit or PDF Multiple Page Tiles in CS2 doc while working in CS4?
I have to resave this file as CS2, so I need to be able to edit and PDF original Page Tiles from CS2, not convert to Artboards. There is no Edit Page tiles, only View Page Tiles. When I go to save as PDF, there is no "multiple pages" option under General as stated elsewhere, and it PDF's as one huge "artboard" even though there are multiple page "tiles". Thanks in advance!
If you want to save an editable Illustrator file for CS2 then you save as .ai not as .pdf.
You can still Show Print Tiling in the View menu. Use the Print dialogue to set up the paper size, orientation, and tiling options, then click Done. -
Book default page doesn't display
I have a portal with several books with a few pages each. the books are tied to a single level menu across the top, the pages are all set to no navigation. The "Return to default page" is set to true and a default page is set.
The problem is that after I initially load the book, if I navigate to another page in the book and then try to get back to the book (using an anchor tag and render:pageUrl or by navigating to another book and then back again) the default page never shows up again. I can get it if I access it directly with pageLabel=pagename, but pageLabel=book doesn't work.
I have tried setting up pageChangeEvents in the handlepostback of the book, but to no avail. The default page just never shows up again.As I am sure that you know it is tough to dissect portals to send good examples... I do have some more information. I turned off Tree Optimization and it has had a partially positive impact. Now when you navigate between books via the single level menu the default page loads, albeit notably slower.
Where it doesn't work is where my manual book links rendered in the children pages do not reload the default page for the parent book.
Let me explain this a little: I have pages within books, each page is in two column layout with a menu on the left. The top menu item on the left is a link back to the parent book (which should display the default page). This link does not reload the default page, it remains on the current page, the url in the navigation bar clearly contains the book url.
The urls for the single level menu and my custom book link appear to be identical, but one works, the other doesn't:

I have tried _nfto=false, but that hasn't worked either.
It is almost like the portal isn't sending control up high enough on the tree to recognize what it really needs to do, which is re-render the book. -

Hi simonp, To set the paper size to be printed on, please follow these steps: 1. Open an application such as TextEdit. 2. Go up to File and select Print, or press the CMD+P keys on your keyboard. 3. Locate the PAPER SIZE field, then select the LETTER paper size. 4. Look for the drop-down menu labeled PRESETS, then expand this menu and choose SAVE AS.
5. Type in a name of your choice for this default setting, then click OK.
You will now be able to select the above created preset from any application you print from, with the default paper size being Letter. Hope this helps! -
trying to make an ibook and have 800 photos, want format of 8 photos/page, but default is not that- "create" the initial book from iphoto "album" it loads less than 800 pics and then when i change layout i have blanks.
if i clear the book so that it is all blanks and then try to load in the pictures i have it loses the chronology of the pictures that i had established in the album.
is there a way to import photos into an ibook template and keep the original order of the photos without having to do them one at a time?
also, is there a way to insert a photo rather than just dragging it? i have tried the cut and paste funciton but it doesn't seem to work, the target site doesn't seem to register with iphoto.
many thanks for your help.Photos are added to book in chronological order. So if you want to add them to a book in the order you have placed them manually in an album do the following:
1 - select all the photos in the album.
2 - use the Photos ➙ Batch Change ➙ Date menu option as shown here. Select any date and add 1 minute between photos.
3 - select just one photo from the album and create a book from it.
4 - in the book click on the Options button ➙ Book Settings button and make sure the checkbox for Auto-layout pages is unchecked.
5 - drag the album with your book photos onto the book icon and they will be imported into the Photos tray of the book in your pre-determined order but not into the pages themselves.

iPad mail sending one page PDF documet as a picture. This picture is not viewing for other people who email open. this problem is from iBooks and from Pages.
(if I sending one page document from Pages from iPhone is ok - PDF. If I sending one page document from iPad is mistake. )Turn off rich text in your email signature. Delete images too, if any.

I'm looking for a template for writing an eBook in Pages. I know about exporting to PDF but wondered if I needed a specific type of template or another software of some kind. I have an older iBook G4 (and love it BTW) and am using Pages 3.03. Anybody with any ideas on what to od? Thanks

does Pages v4 (09) work on a G4 chip? I think I've updated this old Mac iBook as far as it will go. In other words will I need to buy a newer laptop to get the Pages 09 to work and ouput to an eBook? Thanks. Richard -
While reading PDF document using Speak Screen option, iBooks doesn't turn pages automatically
I have been using the speak screen option in iOS 8 to read books and pdf documents in iBooks app. iBooks app turned pages automatically and kept on reading the screen till i updated my phone to iOS8.3. Now, the app stops reading the screen once the page is completed. I have to stop my vehicle, unlock phone, open iBooks app, swipe down with two fingers. It's irritating.
Earlier, I have read dozens of books and pdf documents using this function while doing exercise or routine tasks. now it's not possible unless someone helps.

Unfortunately, I am having precisely the same issue since updating to iOS 8.3 with my iPhone 5s.
I just filled out a bug report here > https://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html, which I've often read on these forums is the best way to get some resolution. I don't know if you read the list of "fixes" for 8.3 or not (here: iOS 8.3), but, it includes the following:
"Fixes an issue in Speak Screen where speech will not start again after pausing"
So...apparently, in fixing THAT problem, they broke something else. At least for some of us...

How do you change default page size in pdf?
I purchased CREATE solely to create a pdf file from a scanned document. I created the PDF but the default page size is 30.15 x 20.83 INCHES. I cannot seem to change the page size. I called support services 4 times (talking with Sakthivel, Shashank, Medhet, and one other.) Each time they indicated that they would connect me to the correct people and they disconnected. I want some answers please. This seems to be a simple question. Is Adobe CREATE merely a scam?
