Ibooks and worldwide territory rights

I'm a published author and I have just submitted my book to itunes. I filled out all of the necessary information in itunes producer but I have one question. In the territory rights section, I don't see the option for worldwide rights? I only have individual countries to choose from. Since the book was written here in the US, has a copyright and ISBN, I am to assume that I have worldwide rights? Correct? And if so, how do I select all countries in the itunes producer. I thank you in advance for your time to reply.

You've gotta be kidding. So not only do you have to select each country, but somehow come up with a dollar price equivalent for each currency? You'd think that Apple would be more business-like than Amazon and its partners, somehow. This seems ridiculously low tech.

Don't know if there is an option make the download window stay up, but you can bring it back with Ctrl+J then right-click on the download to open the folder it was downloaded to.

I just got a new IPAD and transferred everything through the cloud from my old IPAD 2. The new one says "this IPAD is currently being restored. It has been that way for over two hours. Also, I Books opens and then closes right away with no content. Does it take this long, or is there an issue?

I also tried manually underlining a few things on the new iPad and when highlighting a paragraph, it would skip a few lines and the line would go through a few as well. Looks like a major iBooks glitch needs to be addressed here.

Try this:
Open your iBooks app on your iPad
Select the Store Button at the top
Select Purchased at the bottom
You will see your AppleID on the right at the bottom, then Redeem, then Support
Click on your Apple ID, and when the AppleID window comes up with the options, Sign Out
Then Sign In again and try redownloading your book

I downloaded my first book on iBooks and it says its downloaded but its not in my library.

Did you check on the device you downloaded it on? Did you actually purchase and download the book on your iPad? If so, did you check in the iBooks app? If you downloaded the book on iTunes, did you sync your iPad using iTunes and then check the iBooks app?
You did purchase the iBook at the Apple iBook Store, right?

G3 iBook and iWeb?

I have an iBook G3, 800 MHz, 640 RAM, OS X 10.4.11. It seems that this baby is going to work flawlessly FOREVER! My question is ~ does this machine have the horsepower to run iWeb? And, how about Panther? Thanks......

Your forgetting about the beauty of Firewire.
Start the iBook up in firewire disk mode(at boot hold the t key until firewire logo appears) take the firewire cable and plug it into another PowerPC(that supports iWeb) mac and on that mac start it up with the option key until the blue(or is it purple?) appears and after its done loading click on your ibooks drive and hit the right arrow. After boot install iWeb. After that shut down your mac that has booted the ibooks drive. then the ibook and now boot the iBook and you have successfully installed iWeb. Mind you I did this with iWork '06 on my PowerBook G3 Pismo which is slower.
Keynote works as long as the displays are set to thousands of colors and the second screen is at a lower resolution.

US iBook and UK Keyboard help needed..

Some time ago my girlfriend bought an iBook G4 from eBay. We both use the iBook and use a UK Mac keyboard with it, the only problem is is that the pound sign, when used comes out as the $ sign on the iBook and # when using the UK keyboard. Number 3 is supposed to be the pound sign when shift and 3 are pressed, how do assign the key to show the pound sign? It's annoying cause' everytime we need to use the sign we have to resort to using the 'special characters' option. I hope someone can help, thanks!

You will need to set your keyboard input menu to UK. Do the following:
1. Fire up System Preferences
2. Select the International icon
3. Within the International preferences window select the Input Menu tab
4. Ensure Keyboard Viewer is ticked (not needed here but very useful to have available)
5. Scroll down and tick on the British Keyboard box
6. If it's not already ticked, select the "Show input menu in menu bar" box (bottom left of the window).
That's it. You will now notice a flag in the top right of the menubar. It should be the British flag. If not, simply click on the flag and select British. Your keyboard input layout should now be in the familiar British flavour.

IBook and MacBook

For those of you who have used both the iBook and the MacBook, which do you think gives you a better computing experience?

I've used both. My friend's iBook G4 was a very nice computer. But it's nowhere even close to being near to the MacBook. I love my MacBook. It's just an amazing computer. The keyboard is great, the Core Duo power is great, everything about it (except the fact that it's in for repair right now :P) is great.
And btw: since you posted this in the MacBook forum, of course it seems like you're a heretic. People here love their MacBooks. Probably people in the iBook forum love their iBooks.

HT203433 I bought a iBook and the first 6 chapters say they have an error? Won't show pages?

I bought an iBook and once it downloaded it was missing the first 6 chapters
It says
Error on line 1 at column 1
Document is empty error
Encoding error
My iPad 2 is up do date
Not sure what went wrong or how to recover the chapters?

Have you tried deleting the book and re-downloading it via the Purchased tab in the ibookstore in the iBooks app ? If it re-downloads in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that book and use the 'Report a Problem' link.

Syncing PDFs between iBooks and iOS devices

Hello everyone,
I just ordered an iPad Air. I wanted one for a long time, and one of the things that I am most after is the ability to read PDF documents anywhere I want. I have been organizing my eBooks and PDFs in iBooks, and I was under the impression that this meant I would be able to see the collection on my iOS devices and download them to those devices when I needed them. But I guess it's not that simple, is it?
As I don't yet have the iPad with me, I have been trying to sync what I see in iBooks to my iPhone 4S, but I only see one mqtching book on both the Mac and the iPhone, and that's one book purchased from iBooks itself. Then there's one free ebook that was also downloaded inside iBooks, from the computer, but does not show in the iPhone. Adding to this, none of the PDFs I have organized inside iBooks will show up on the iPhone.
Am I doing something wrong? Any of you successfuly organizing ebooks and PDFs in iBooks and seeing them on your iOS devices? What should I try?
I'm on the latest Mavericks update and all the mentioned apps are updated. Also, the iPhone is running the latest update of iOS7.

Well, nevermind. It suddenly decided to start syncing, somehow! Not sure what I did to make it work though.
Anyway, this is still not what I was expecting. The only way to synchronize what I have in iBooks with the iOS devices, is through iTunes, and I need to be in the same network, right?
I thought this would be something more like iTunes Match, where I could have all my ebooks and PDFs up in the Cloud and download them to my devices whenever I needed them.
Do you know if there's any app providing this type of system?

Ibook and safe mode???!!!

this is a follow up to a previous post about spilling theraflu on my ibook laptop. for those who haven't read the other post, in short, i splashed some theraflu on the right side of the keyboard approximately 3 days ago. as many had mentioned, i removed the keyboard and carefully removed any liquid residue i could find and kept my computer off for a few days. today i went to figure out the damage and everything seems to work okay in terms of the computer turning on and stuff. the keyboard is still acting up though. the left side of the keyboard works mostly okay, but if i press certain letters, the number along with random number appears. the right side of the keyboard, on the other hand, several keys don't even respond at all. from these "symptoms" do you guys think the only thing that i may have to replace is the keyboard or could these "symptoms" i've described be related to some other damage also? how much does replacing a keyboard usually cost? i'm thinking this isn't going to be covered by my warranty. lastly, i've noticed that when i do turn the computer on, it automatically starts in safe-mode. what does this mean exactly? thanks for all your help!

Here's an update to my ibook. I had to print something out from my computer that I needed urgently and so I figured even without a functional keyboard, I could at least print something since my mouse pad seemed to be working okay. Unfortunately, however, I can't seem to be able to print and the upper right hand corner of my computer seems to be acting up. I'm thinking that the theraflu may have done more damage than just the keyboard.
So, having said that, what could be the worst possible scenario here and how much damage am I looking at?

Since installing LTR 5.4, which I've now upgraded to 5.6, I've encountered repeated slowness and malfunctions in operations, especially when using the Compare View function and the Tab key to open and close the right and left side panels. Such problems never arose during two years of using LTR-4 and nothing else has changed on my computer. I have a pretty simple system with only a few plug-ins, which are usually not in operation. I have 12GB of RAM in my Windows 7 PC. I could illustrate these problems with screen shots if you would tell me how to submit screen shots. Otherwise I will try to describe the problems in words.
The problem is clearly cumulative, growing worse as usage time passes. Compare View feature gradually slows down and eventually seems to choke as my work session proceeds. If I Exit LTR and re-enter and start all over, things will work normally for maybe 30 minutes, but then the Compare View feature begins to become very slow to respond. In a recent example with my screen full of thumbnails in Library mode I highlighted two images to compare. LTR started to open the Compare View screen by first having the top row of thumbnails disappear to be replaced by the "SELECT" and "CANDIDATE" words in their spaces (but no images), but Compare View never succeeded in gaining control of the screen. After some seconds the top row of thumbnails reasserted its position and the Compare View windows disappeared. But LTR kept trying to bring them back. Again the top row of thumbnails would go away, Select and candidate would reappear, try again, and give up. This went on for at least 2-3 minutes before I tried to choose File and Exit, but even that did not initially want to respond. It doesn't like to accept other commands when it's trying to open Compare View. Finally it allowed me to exit.
To experiment I created a new catalog of 1100 images. After 30-40 minutes, the Compare View function began to operate very slowly. With left and right side panels visible and two thumbnails highlighted, hitting Compare View can take half a minute before the two mid-size images open in their respective SELECT and CANDIDATE windows. When the side panels are open and two images are in the Select/Candidate spaces, hitting the Tab button to close the side panels produces a very delayed response--25-30 seconds to close them, a few more seconds to enlarge the two images to full size. To reverse the process (i.e., to recall the two side panels), hitting Tab would make the two sides of the screen go black for up to a minute, with no words visible. Eventually the info fields in the panels would open up.
I also created a new user account and imported a folder of 160 images. After half an hour Compare View began mis-placing data. (I have a screen shot to show this.) CANDIDATE appears on the left side of SELECT, whereas it should be on the right. The accompanying camera exposure data appears almost entirely to the left of the mid-screen dividing line. Although the Candidate and Select headings were transposed, the image exposure data was not, but the data for the image on the right was almost entirely to the left of the line dividing the screen in two.
Gurus in The Lightroom Forum have examined Task Manager data showing Processes running and Performance indicators and they see nothing wrong. I could also send screen shots of this data.
At this point, the only way I can process my images is to work 30-40 minutes and then shut down everything, exit, and re-start LTR. This is not normal. I hope you can find the cause, and then the solution. If you would like to see my screen shots, tell me how to submit them.
