IBooks - app - when opeing the store- nothing comes up

When I go to my iBook app  - it will open up to my libary, however when you try to go to the store - it comes up but there is nothing on the screen. Even when you try to go to Geatured, Top Charts, Tope Autors, Serch or Purchased.  This also is happening on my ipad. What to do?  I have tried shutting down and reloading iBooks - that does not work. Help please.

Many people are having this problem for the last couple of days. This is a problem that Apple has to fix. If you look around the forum, you will see many, many discusssions about this and they have been going on for a few days.
According to Fly150 in another discussion, this is a workaround - for the time being.
If you want to update the Apps while waiting for Apple to fix Updates:
1. Go to App Store
2. Select Purchased
3. Select All
4. Scroll down to find the Apps showing update
5. Select update on the Apps
This should update the Apps and get rid of the update count in App Store.

Tring to launch iBooks just flashes an goes back to launch icon My iBooks is refusing to launch on the new iPad. Worked yesterday. . I have restarted the iPad and nothing. Latest os and no app update in the store.  Help

Have you tried closing the iBooks app completely and seeing if it works when you re-open it ? From the home screen (i.e. not with iBooks 'open' on-screen, though it sounds like you can't get it to be open anyway) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the iBooks app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset (not sure whether this is what you meant by a restart) : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

I have just updated my iPad to IOS 8.1.3 when I now try to open the emails nothing comes up and then the app crashes and returns to the home page. What should I do?

Since yesterday morning about 11:00 I have been having TERRIBLE email problems on this iPad 3G. Email comes in (I hear the sound) but nothing displays -- no folders, no content, no nothing in e-mail. The blank email screen shows up and then disappears after about 10 seconds, taking me back to the Home Screen.
Right now, the only way I can see email on this device is to log onto AOL via the AOL app.
I have been doing a lot of online reading about the problem. It has to do with iOS 8.1.3 and it affects older iPads and iPhones. I'm having no problems on my iPod touch, which -- fortunately -- is so old it cannot update its iOS 6.
I waited to update the iOS on this iPad until iOS 8 was "mature." That was about 2 weeks ago.
Anybody know know if Apple is aware? working on a solution?

Is your iPhone not showing up in iTunes sidebar, or is iTunes not just launching automatically?
The things that you can check are:
    1) Launch iTunes manually
    2) Restart or reset your iPhone (http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3281)
    3) Check your cable including disconnecting and reconnecting it on bot the phone end and the computer USB end.
    4) Reboot your computer
    5) As a last resort, take it to the Apple Store so they can check the hardware

Have you checked that the App is compatable with your 2nd Gen iPod and its iOS version...
The 2nd Gen can Only go to iOS 4.2.1

Why my iPad App Store nothing come out on featured and charts?

    Saw this on another post.
Applecare Senior Advisor Txx Bxxx (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it!   It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year. Then see if you can connect to the store.

  • A folder on my desktop is missing, when I search for files in the folder nothing comes up...

a folder  on my desktop is missing, when I search for files that are in the folder nothing comes up!  There are no items in my trash! please help!!!!

Well, now you know why you should have backed your data up. There are two kinds of computer users: those who have accidentally deleted important data in the past, and those who will do so in the future. You've just switched groups. If your data isn't backed up, it will all be lost sooner or later to boneheaded mistakes or hard drive failure. The only question is when. Good backups are cheap insurance against that day.
Now that those files have been deleted, you'll have to use data recovery software to try to salvage them, assuming the space they occupied on your hard drive hasn't yet been overwritten (a pretty good bet if they were still visible yesterday and you STOP using your computer now, to avoid overwriting them before you recover them). To do so you'll need an external hard drive and one of the following recovery utilities:
    Data Rescue 3: http://www.prosofteng.com/products/data_rescue.php
    FileSalvage 7: http://subrosasoft.com/OSXSoftware/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id= 1
Both are offered in demo versions that will show you what the full version could recover before you have to pay for anything.

  • The app is in the store. Now what?

    Hi,
Finally I wrote my first iPhone application. Apple approved it and now my child is in App Store since today. There are no reviews, no buyers, no nothing.
What are the steps to get the reviews from people to promote my app? I am planning to strip off some features and submit the light version of my application in near future. But before that step accomplished can I do some other market tricks to promote my app?
    Thanks!

First, take these steps if you haven't yet:
    1) Go to ITC->Manage Your Applications->Edit Information->Pricing. Set Availability Date to today's date. If you do this immediately you might get anywhere from a few minutes to a couple days on the front page of your category. Note that this only works once per binary. The (still?) undocumented policy is that it's the developer's responsibility to reset this date on the day the app appears in the store. Otherwise the Released date will probably be the day you submitted the app, so it could be buried on page 10 its very first day.
    2) If you requested daily trend reports (or if these are now available without an extra request), go to ITC->Sales/Trend Reports->Daily tomorrow morning (else Weekly next Monday or Tuesday). If you've sold over 10,000 units your first day, phone your accountant right away because you're going to be an iPhone millionaire. If the first day sales are from 1-25, don't feel like you're alone.
Reviews have been running about 1 in every 1000 downloads for me, so don't expect any until you've sold at least a 100. And some really nice apps can get really nasty reviews. Remember that lots of these come from kids who are angry because no one wants to play with them. Others come from middle aged adults who are still living in their mother's basement. Of course some developers write their own reviews, and quite often these award 5 stars. Many of the planted reviews are painfully obvious, so if you do that (and I hope you don't!), please get someone else to write it.
There are lots of marketing tricks, but I don't seem to know any of them. To start you might consider a brain transplant to change from a programmer to a promoter. In my experience those are two very different kinds of people. Hopefully someone who knows something about marketing will respond to your question soon.

  • What is the meaning, or significance, of the greyed out word "installed" next to the iBooks app icon in the iTunes list of apps on my new iPhone6, or slightly older iPad mini, retina display?

What is the meaning, or significance, of the greyed out word “installed” next to the iBooks app icon in the iTunes lists of apps on my new iPhone6, or slightly older iPad mini, retina display?  Both devices have iOS8.0.2 installed.  Both are having problems downloading some books that had been purchased previously for other devices.  And, before installing iOS8, the full list of had been downloaded to the iPad mini with iOS7.
Finding out what the greyed outness means may help me figure out how to get all my books loaded on both devices.  Any suggestions how to do that also would be appreciated.

Thank you.  Your explanation of why the word "installed" is greyed out makes sense.  But that raises the further question of why then is it shown at all.  There are other apps on both devices that can not be removed, and they are just not shown.  This is the only app that has the greyed out "install" notation.  All of the other apps shown are either identified by "remove" meaning it is installed and can be removed; "install" meaning it is not installed but can be; or "update" meaning it has been replaced by a more current version which can be installed.
All of the books that I want to install have been on an iPhone4 that was replaced by the iPhone6, and were on the iPad Mini with iOS7 before iOS8 was installed.  Installation of iOS8 on the iPad removed all of the books and only a few of them were later added by syncing with iTunes.  Since most of the books I am interested in are free or of small cost, I would be happy to delete all of them from iTunes and then reinstall the ones I want directly on the devices.  But I have not been able to delete them and when I try to install them on a device I am told that they already have been downloaded.  Very frustrating.

That could be an indication your drive is failing. If you do not have a current Backup, that is top priority.

  • ITunes 12 crashes when accessing the store

I installed Yosemite and iTunes 12.0.1. Since then, it crashes when accessing the store (wolor wheel)
I re-installed iTunes. It works with my Library when my iMac is disconnected from the net, but as soon as iTunes tries to access the store and refresh iTunes Match… Bang. It freezes again and I have to re-install it (it freezes again when I restart, even when disconnected).
Ho can I solve this, please ?

I was having the same issue. iTunes Match had little or none to do with it. Basically anything that required logging into the store (I needed to re auth). Frustrating because iTunes now makes you use your apple id for the tiniest little tasks, and worse yet, it shows logged in, but it really isn't. Anytime I tried to authenticate it would time out and then cause iTunes and a library file to not respond, causing me to force quit. I did notice my wireless connection was suffering. I rebooted my router and tried again, voila! connected and authorized! no time outs! iTunes 12.0.1.26 seems to be a little sensitive to weak connections?
