  • My IBooks app will not open

Hi, my iBooks app was updated August 23, 2013. I own a IPad 2 with 3G. The app asked to be updated so I did and it never returned. I went into settings and added more storage but it still isn't there. In IBooks setting I see it there but when I hit the open button it will Not open! I have purchased many books and I want access to them. I find this frustrating and I have never had a problem till now with updating my apps. HELP!!!

If you bought more iCloud storage then that gives you extra space in the cloud for your backups, it won't add storage on yoru iPad
Try a soft-reset and see if you can find/open iBooks after the iPad has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Most of my native os x apps won't open in mavericks, even the mac app store. how do i reinstall mavericks?

Most of my native os x apps wont work in mavericks, even the app store.
i tried to reinstall mavericks using command + R after restart, but the progress bar in the screen wont move. "downloading additional components"
how do i solve this problem?
    thanks

Use Recovery Mode or Safe Mode (hold down Shift as you Restart) to launch Disk Utility and (Repair disk). While you are up, (Repair Permissions) as well.

  • Mail app freezes upon opening after Mavericks install

Following my installation of mavericks, apple mail app freezes upon opening. Windows do not open; program immediately begins "not responding." Having followed this with a force quit loop for a day, I installed airmail, a serviceable alternative, but not well integrated with address book. As such, I'm interested in finding a fix for mail app. Advice will be greatly appreciated.

I have same problem with my macbook pro 2009
Worked fine when first installed now mail app fails to open. Not the same issue as with macbook airs.

  • App Store, Pages, iBooks, Maps won't open in Mavericks

I see I am not alone in having this problem. I'd appreciate any suggestions.

If the Pages app is not in your Applications folder, and if signing out of the App Store and signing back in again won't permit you to reinstall Pages, try the following:
Sign out of the App Store, then quit the App Store.
Select (triple-click to select the entire line), then control-click, and from the contextual menu that appears select Services > Reveal in Finder:
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.storeagent.plist
Drag the highlighted file to the Desktop.
Repeat with the following two lines
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.appstore.plist
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.storeagent
Open the App Store again, select the Purchases list, sign in, and attempt to install Pages again.

  • Books inside of the iBooks App do not open.

    Hello:
Ever since I upgraded to OS X Yosemite I have been unable to open Sample books that I download from the iBook store. Is this a known issue, and is there a fix?
    Thank you,

Is it a particular email that you are trying to select ? If it is then it may be a problem with that email so you could try deleting it by logging into your account on a browser.
And by closing the Mail app do you mean just minimising or closing it via the iPad's Taskbar ? If you haven't tried closing it via the taskbar then you could also try that : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar at the bottom of the screen, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.

  • Mail app wont stay open

I have an iphone 5s. Everytime I open my mail app it open then closes immediatley. Any suggestions?

Try a reset, which is similar to a computer restart and is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release.

  • Ipod app wont stay open for more than 2 seconds...just loaded IOS 4

Hey so last night i downloaded the new IOS 4 for this thing and i was very happy with it, started making a playlist on the phone etc.
This morning I wake up and when i click the ipod app it opens up only to go back to the home screen within about 2 seconds. Just crashes. I tried using the double click feature just to play some kind of music. It starts to play, but within 2 seconds- crashes.
    Please Help.

    Hi
    I've had similar issues.
Following a recent synch when on iOS4.0, the iPod would close after a few seconds.
I decided to do a restore and upgrate to 4.02 since I had other issues - slow response when typing and moving between screens or opening apps.
Since doing this, the iPod states there is no content, yet I have just loaded 10GB of music onto it.
I have carried out a number of restores using different PCs & Laptops, and set up the phone as a new one, but atill have the same issue. I have the latest iTunes and have done endless reboots etc.
I have always had issues when upgrading the iOS with this phone, and find that resoring on my XP laptop works, yet I always get errors when restoring on vista 32/64 OS.
    Can anyone offer any suggestions?
    Regards
    Grant

    please help someone

Is this an Early 2011 MBP?
    Try manually downloading and installing this update;
Mac OS X v10.6.7 Update for early 2011 MacBook Pro
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1368
If it is older, then try this one, it is fairly large!
Mac OS X v10.6.7 Update Combo
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1361
I would drag the MAS app to the Trash and restart before applying either of the updates.

  • Facebook app wont stay open during use

hey, i dont know whats going on with my facebook app on my iphone4s i have updated the app its self and its all up to date but everytime i go on it, it will stay open while im using it but during using it, it will close itself completely and whatever i was writing or looking at is gone when i re open it. It only does it to my iphone not my 5th gen of ipod.
i dont know whats going on but how can i stop it?
and does this happen to anyone else and if so how did you fix it?

Personally i have had this issue and it is with facebook alone. My app is up to date and my iOS is up to date. what i do to prevent this is make sure i have no other apps running in the background.
To check this double tap your home button and it will bring up the multitasking bar. Then hold your finger on an app until they start to shake and press the red "-" on all the apps.
This helps me out but if it doesnt work for you try a hard reset aswel:
    - hold the home button and sleep/wake button down at the same time
    - the phone will turn off and when the apple logo appears release both buttons
    hope this helps

  • APP wont stay open after upgrade to 120GB HDD, Help

    Hello
I just upgraded my main HDD to a 120GB seagate drive, everything seems to be working fine until I open my flash and photoshop and other programs. flash will not stay open, as soon as it opens it quits right away. I re-installed the program and re-start the computer but it still does the same thing. Other program like photoshop and InDesign says it can not sync with the color pallet because the file is missing. I used color sync utility and repaired all profiles. but photoshop and indesign still says they can not sync color due to missing files.
Does anyone have exprience with this problem? All my other apple apps seems to be functioning normally.
Thank you for any suggestions and comments.
    Michael Huang
PS: when I upgraded to the 120GB HDD, I installed osx tiger on the new drive and used migration assistant to transfer all the data from the old 30GB HDD.

I had the same problem and solved it myself.

  • Help downloaded free apps wont stay open

I recieved an itouch 32g this morning. I downloaded a couple of apps and then tried to use them. They just show the title scrren and jump back to the main menu. I've tried resetting it, deleting and re-installing the apps, i've restored it a couple of times, and even made sure it was fully charged. They still will not load nor work. the apps that the itouch came with are working, just not the ones I downloaded. What should I do?

Hello everyone. I too experienced the same problem this morning and I fixed it by just simply restoring the touch and then when it asks what you want synced, I checked all boxes. So my fix wasn't all that hard. What I suggest is working your way up the line of possible solutions starting from the simple to the more complex. This link hopefully will provide at least some of you the solutions to fix your touches. Everyone's iPod reacts differently so just start trying.

  • IBook app won't open

iBook tells  me to try later.  I tried installing an update and it won't update.  Any ideas?

    1. from the Home screen, double tap the Home button -> hold down the iBooks icon until it jiggles -> press the red icon in the upper left corner -> now try reopening iBooks.
    2. using steps from 1 to close iBooks, but Don't reopen iBooks. perform a Reset: Hold down the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons for ~10 seconds, ignore the slide to power off, the iPad will then reset. Now try reopening iBooks. Note: no data is lost in performing a Reset

  • HT5953 why will it not open (it referring to the ibooks app on my macbook pro)

my ibooks app will not open, not even load

Sometimes it doesn't really depend on your ISP download speed, it depends on how busy the developer's servers might be. For instance, last night I downloaded an 800+MB file from the Apple Developers website. What usually takes less than 30-40 minutes took over 3 hours because so many people were hitting the servers and the same files at the same time.
So if your download speed is fast via your ISP, remember that things on the server side may be slow or busy: and that's going to take additional time to download.
Just curious as to what your download speed actually is and what size the files were that you're trying to download?
