iBooks Author is for iPad?
The download says it is only for OSX.
Can anyone explain?

If you want to create eBooks on iPad only, there is Apples "Pages" that be installed on iPads and also, there are a number of apps in the store for making ebooks on iPad. I use "Book Creator" from Red Jumper which has a free trial version.
However, if you want the books on Apples store... you need a Mac computer or use a third party who can do this for you.

If I was you I would do a reset ie hold the sleep/wake and home buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. If that didn't help I would then delete and redownload the book. If problems still persist contact Apple support:

A fix for iPad: Could not be synced because the sync session failed to start

While trying to sync my iPad I started getting the following error from iTunes:
•          iTunes could not backup iPad because a session could not be started with the iPad
I've tried the following:
•          Running the Repair Disk Permissions from Disk Utility
•          Delete existing backup through iTunes and making sure to delete the backups folder: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
•          Rebooting the Mac and the iPad
No fix. Any solutions ?

Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 8 will not let me see the Download page for FireFox. How do I get around this?

Even when I copy the http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/products/download.html url directly to the Windows browser it still will not show the FireFox download links. Has anyone else run into this problem?

Thanks to whoever posted a reply to someone else telling them to copy the download on another machine to a ubs memory then plug it into the offending machine. It worked!

My Macbook Pro will not find or use the downloaded driver for my new Canon Pixma MX479 wireless printer

I have been fussing for hours with a Canon Pixma MX479 printer I received as a gift. The printer was obviously designed for PC control, and has terrible instructions for setting up the wireless capability, but I finally found a few hints online about how to add a WPS printer to my Airport Extreme, so I can finally detect the printer. However, when I try to add the printer, either under System Preferences or while just doing a print, my MacBook requires that I download a driver from Apple to use it. When I attempt to do that, I get a message the driver software is unavailable from Apple and that I should contact the manufacturer for the driver. I have already downloaded and installed the Mac OS driver from Canon twice, but my MacBook apparently can't find it. So I am forced to use Airprint in order to communicate with the printer. I would like to use the proper software to make sure I am accessing all of the features the printer offers. Can anyone tell me how to associate the downloaded driver with my printer when I am attempting to add it?

Version number for GPO's not in sync with the version number for GPO's on the Baseline domain controller

I accidentally removed one of our domain controller's hyper-v image (DC-02) from the hyper-v manager and to bring it back online launched a new virtual machine using the same virtual hard drive. This brought back the domain controller machine and I set the
original IP address to the same assuming that everything would just working fine.
Sadly, that wasn't the case as when I tried to open the group policy manager on that machine I started getting "Access is denied" error. I was then presented with an option to open the group policy manager with the first available DC which I did
and was able to open it with showing the same machine as the baseline domain controller under the status tab (DC-01 is actually the baseline DC). I then clicked Detect now and noticed it was showing 1 DC under replication in progress with problems in GPO version.
I then did the same thing on the primary DC (DC-01) and even there it was showing this only (images attached).
So I started exploring over the internet going through various articles but couldn't find a solution which I could apply without worrying about corrupting something somewhere. I also went to the SYSVOL folder on both the DC's to check the version number
in GPT.ini files which are mentioned below:

Apologies for responding late. I followed through all the points mentioned by Frank and even did a non-authoritative restore synchronization but still no luck.

If force restarting doesnt work, and your computer cant recognize it, I would suggest bringing it to the genius bar at an apple store so they can run diagnostics. This seems to be the last step, because the issue seems pretty serious.

It is not broken. It works for me and it has always worked for me - every version of iBooks in every version of the iOS that I have ever run on my iPad. Therefore - I do not think that it is broken - or it would not work for me - and for countess others using iBooks and the current iOS version 5.1.1.
What have you done or tried to this point in order to get rectify the situation with iBooks? Have you restarted your iPad, quit iBooks completely and then tried again? Rebooted the device? Uninstalled and reinstalled iBooks?

I'm looking for a possibility to use the iPad for photography while traveling, without the access to a computer.
Shooting photo's in RAW format crates pretty big files that will fill up the iPad's memory pretty fast if you shoot a lot during a (let's say) month long trip.
my idea was to use load the photo's to the iPad so i could view them and sort out any bad ones. then copy them over to the storage device so i can continue using my CF cards for shooting. I have an image thank for copying the photo's directly to the HDD but it would be so sweet to be able to check them on the iPad before hand.
any suggestions?

Try deleting iTunes from your computer. Do not delete your iTunes library. Then download and install a fresh copy if iTunes. Reboot your computer after installation of iTunes.
Then reboot your phone. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart.
Reconnect the phone to your computer running iTunes and see if the sync process will go through.

If you tried to restore the old version I assume that your iPad was jailbroken. If my assumption is incorrect, please forgive me for jumping to conclusions. If it wasn't jailbroke, maybe this will help.

When I went in to have it revert back to os6 (which worked fine!) I was actually asked if I had done any research before I installed the upgrade! As if this is the consumer's fault for being dumb enough to fall for the upgrade!

That is not what I have discovered, nor what others have discovered, nor what I was told when I went the Genius Bar. I cannot remotely mirror to my MacBook Pro and it only started the day after I installed the upgrade. We tested it with an iPad that had not been upgraded, no problem.
